  1. This would generally be the case for most Motherwell keepers as in the past we would generally have less possession of the football and be backs to the wall at times. This side? Im not so sure. As Wellfan says, our best form of defence this season has been keeping the ball. Its a very weird feeling......

  2. To be honest after the mistakes at the Hearts, Kilmarnock and Celtic games that cost us points i was not convinced either, but since that horror show at parkhead he has been very good, no daft mistakes, looks comfortable on the ball and for me has earned the contract extension. He will be the first choice keeper for the forseeable future, and i think Oxborough will be moving on, probably next summer.

  3. I’ve been one of the more vocal critics of Ward since he came in, but credit where it’s due. He’s done what’s been asked of him, taken risks and clearly improved. Our best form of defence is keeping the ball, and he’s been integral to that.

  4. Likely Balmer and Ox. JBA keeps mentioning Halliday’s recovery, so he’s potentially in the plans as midfield cover. Halliday might be alright with that too. He’ll get minutes once he’s fit since JBA rotates a lot. Not the worst bit of cover if he’s willing to play the JBA way. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if all three moved on.

  6. ‘Mon the ‘Well Nice to have a full week between the games for players to recover and work on stuff in training. The flip side though is that it seems Like ages before Saturday comes around again amd when our team is playing this well and getting results, you just want the next game to come along as quick as possible. We are certainly capable of getting 3 points but we will have to play well, take our chances amd stay solid at the back. We don’t get the 3 points just for turning up. We have the footballing ability but all the best teams also have the mental ability, not to become complacent, to maintain focus and stick to the proven plan.

  7. Everyone knows my views on Ward and I am still to be totally convinced but there is definitely improvement there and last Saturday had crucial save at 1-0. For me a goalkeeper needs to be good at crosses and commanding his box which i am not sure Ward does but we are 3rd and 4 clean sheets in a row so what do I know 🤪
