  1. Which is fair enough, but I can't imagine that means they'll benefit much from raising their profile around the 'Shire.
  2. "Caribbean-based gaming company" according to the 'fishel site ("Authorised and Regulated by the Government of Curaçao" according to their own website), which makes the whole Turkish thing even more odd...
  3. Only if there's an equal likelihood of it happening or not.
  4. Yep, that's my recollection from stats classes 20-odd years ago..
  5. Not to my recollection, but, as you say, it doesn't really matter. The next 12 I flip are still always just as likely to be all heads as any of the other 4095 outcomes...
  6. As somebody says every time, so I'll be That Guy this time: if the draw is truly random, as we'd all hope it is, then that's just as likely to happen as any other sequence of home and away ties they could've had.
  7. Ben Hall knew when he left that he was going to join Brighton's Under-21s, so he can't have too many complaints if he's still there after just one season. If he's still there when his contract expires, then it'd be fair to re-assess whether he's out of his depth there.
  8. I doubt he would either. But in that case I'd expect him to say nothing at all since he has no need to do so (especially on Twitter), rather than just lie about it.
  9. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
  10. If you have any follow-up questions, I'm sure you can go along to (or submit them to) this month's "Ask the Board" session: http://www.thewellsociety.co.uk/2017/06/23/have-your-say-monthly-surgery/
  11. More specifically, he said it'd be a goalkeeper, and our new assistant would be confirmed as well.

    New Pitch

They covered that here: Head Groundsman Paul Matthew catches up with MFC TV
  13. Hardly a wild punt, the manager's already on the record saying we're hoping to sign two or three early this week...
  14. Flow said they didn't really want to announce Faddy's departure yesterday, but the papers got wind of it so they had to. So even if it were to be Lasley, they'll probably make that announcement on a day when there's nothing else to announce.
  15. Actually I pretty much have one of those, just need to subscribe to threads on the forum to get them in your email, then set up notifications for whatever email folder you filter them into...
  16. Mibbe. Or mibbe SR wants to bring back Baraclough
  17. So not actually Dublin at all, then... Carton House is in Co. Kildare.

    Lionel Ainsworth

Depends whose definitions of 'assist' you use, but FIFA's are: An assist was awarded to the player who had given the last pass to the goalscorer. In addition, also the last but two holder of the ball could get an assist provided that his action had decisive importance for the goal . After goals from rebounds those players were awarded an assist who had shot on target. After goals scored on penalty or by a directly converted free-kick the fouled player received a point. In case that the goalscorer had laid on the goal for himself (dribble, solo run), no assists were awarded. No assists were awarded, either, if the goalscorer took advantage of a missed pass by an opponent. Where goals resulting from penalties are concerned, the player who is fouled in the area receives an assist point (unless, that is, the player who is fouled subsequently executes the penalty himself) While Opta's definition simply appears to be: The final pass or pass-cum-shot leading to the recipient of the ball scoring a goal.
  19. Given the number of dubious free kicks and probably opponent bookings he's won over the years by falling about, I'm not sure there's much to be gained by kicking up a fuss about it. For a younger player it might be a teachable moment, but I think we can safely say Skippy is just going to keep being Skippy, and sometimes he'll get his comeuppance, unfairly or otherwise.
  20. From the 'fishel site: "Following Mark McGhee’s departure two weeks ago, Robinson has taken the team on a temporary basis but has been handed the reigns on a full-time capacity, with a contract until May 2018."
  21. But preferably not either of the last two cup finals we've actually been in.
  22. What did you expect him to say? He was asked a question by a journalist, and he's presumably looking for another job. He's hardly going to say he was rubbish and deserved the sack.
