  1. Got a mate who lives in Elgin so getting a wee overnight and getting the train down from there. First time to the Caledonian Stadium - any recommendations for pubs between the train station and ground? Prices went up on the official site last night as: Adults: £21 Over 65′s & 16-25 yrs £16 Under 16s £10
  2. Agreed ZFA looked sharp and much more offensive when he came on. If he's a better LB than Hammell is debatable. But why not try attacking for a change....
  3. Disgrace!!!! Nuf said...
  4. Got us at 17/10 in store at Ladbrokes earlier. Should pay for my trip. Buzzing for this, girl in the ticket office at 10 told me we'd sold around 800 tickets so far. If we don't win this I already blame McCall cos they are so shite there's no other excuse! Fairly confident of a win though, we are looking good going forward and big higgy will get another hat-trick. The sceptical part of me can see one of our players getting sent off but it would be magic to see the stadium empty with 15 minutes left. Get fucking tore into these 3rd division zombie bastards Motherwell! It may be the biggest game in their short history but we are better than them in every sense of the word and will be having a party before pumping their ugly sisters on Saturday!
  5. Love the celebration!!! Let's all do the carswell!!!!
  6. That will do me, got it on Streetview. Frews bar, Moncur Crescent. Thanks!
  7. Can anyone recommend a pub near the round that allows kids in? The wee boys first away game today!
  8. Straight question to the board of MFC: Assuming we haven't been part of the bullying of the SFL clubs can we leave the SPL and apply to be part of their league setup? We seem to have got caught up with a bad crowd somewhere and need to reassess why we are a football club. The SPL has not worked yet it continues blackmail and bully those less well off than itself and has been show to be corrupt. It is an embarrassment and I am ashamed that we are part of it.
  9. You're right fatcalf I am being presumptuous, which us unfair as I'm not taking the clubs words at full value. But I'm simply not willing to put my hard earned on a gamble that justice will be done in this whole scenario - especially with such a big chance ahead to sort out all that has went wrong since the formation of the SPL (that's just in my time).
  10. I put my reasons into the original e-mail about not attending matches based on rangers being ushered back into the SPL as a Newco etc which extended to not wanting to be part of the well society in such a case. I hadn't paid any of my membership so cancelled before the 1st payment was due. I did get a reply for leeane dempster which was fair as at the moment there is only speculation to comment on - but I personally still find it a bit hypocritical to ask fans (as always) to stump up for season tickets etc when there is no commitment being made on their part on this issue which affects these decisions. It now looks like they've shot themselves in the foot enough for suspension/expulsion of their SFA now but that's only cos FIFA are getting involved. My mind made up that if left to Motherwell, chairmen of other clubs, SPL, SFA, that rangers would be playing SPL football next season no matter how much theyre found guilty of. Again, time well tell and bridges could need to be fixed if theyre not completely burned down.
  11. I'm thinking about following an Italian team, far less corruption in football there...
  12. I've already cancelled my 'Well Society membership due to the clubs dithering over the carry on in Govan but I was hoping it would work out for the best and I could rejoin. I think it's now getting to a stage that the relationship between the fans and those at the club could be on the ropes and even if the SPL/SFA do eventually grow a pair and kill them off like they deserve then I will always be in no doubt about what Motherwell FC's stance has been all along. I'm afraid the 'we will consult our fans' line doesn't really wash with me - which is a shame because we've been riding on the crest of a wave for 18 months and I did like those in charge. Hope I'm wrong obviously but time will tell. ETA: Oh aye, and no more 'Stuart McCall's Motherwell Army' from me - when they offer you the job for the Newco don't worry about us Stuart.
  13. I could only really accept this argument if before the next league meeting every member was invited to a vote on the proposals currently on offer and allow everyone to actually have a say. The truth is, people who have joined up for the 'Well Society are none the wiser than they would be had they not - it is very early days. I have sent an e-mail to the club to enquire on cancelling my membership should I feel the need as I am paying in instalments. There is talk across supporters' message boards of all affected clubs of so many people turning their back on Scottish Football if the Newco is allowed back into the SPL, being treated as a 'special case'. I don't think it's worth getting into all the reasons as it's been covered on many posts and at the end of the day it's a personal opinion and choice. Where we have a conflict of interests is in the 'Well Society. I really want to be part of the 'Well Society and believe in what it is being set up for - which is why I signed up. However 'Govan Bigots 2012' being allowed into the SPL next season being allowed to dump all their debts and to carry on as if they have done nothing wrong will be the last straw for me with Scottish Football - and by association, with the 'Well Society.
  14. As do I - but if you want to take anything from them I would say that most recognise, given the money spent on players and their salaries, that most of your team need to be having a particularly good game and, as I said you need a bit of luck here and there, to get any points. I don't mind writing off games against both of them at the beginning and the end of the season, and I actually have a mindset at the beginning of the season that we are practically ~24 points disadvantaged, but whilst other clubs will wish they had our record vs. every other team in the league, we, as the 3rd place team in the SPL, should be thinking that we should take about, or at least, the same as other teams around us from games vs. the old firm. St Johnstone have taken 7 'bonus' points (as I stated in previous post) from games against them this season and if we are the 'best of the rest' I don't see why we can't take a single point from them, other than pointing fingers, which I don't think is appropriate given our good season.
  15. Looking forward to this announcement tomorrow. I only signed up on Wednesday and whilst the dirty bastards took 3 points off us today they are facing the removal of trophies, liquidation, charges, reforming, begging for a league etc while we make an announcement that our future is being safeguarded by the people who care most about the club. Fuck them and all they stand for - and 'mon the 'Well!
  16. How the fuck is he still taking money from being a linesman? Was he the lino down at Killie last week btw, if not it was someone who looked like him.
  17. Good point, and gives me hope since United are away to Aberdeen on Saturday. Suppose it's just frustrating when most would consider that games against rangers and celtic are ones where you need to raise your game, get a bit of luck, hope they have an off day etc. The rest of the teams in the SPL are relatively evenly matched with regards to wage budgets, fan bases and recent success compared to the two from Glasgow and you can single out any 'bogie' teams for any club - however any points picked up against them throughout the season are probably considered by any other team as 'bonus points'. We are the only team outwith the bottom three who have failed to pick up any of these bonus points so far this season in 6 attempts.
  18. Perhaps a more pessimistic way to look at it is taking the 'League without the Old Firm' into account: Motherwell 26 played, 54 points Dundee United 26 player, 46 points St Johnstone 25 played, 42 points. Whilst you can accept that we have the best results outwith games with the old firm, that doesn't mean these games don't count - and if we don't finish third it will effectively be because we can't take any points off them where others can.
  19. Celtic will play Hearts/St Mirren in the semi final so you would suspect that the winner of Hibs vs Aberdeen has a very good chance of making the Europa League, in which case 6th place in the SPL won't be.
  20. I've been following the developments closely on Pie and Bovril as the thread on Rangers administration is probably the best ever to appear on a football forum. And there's not much I can add to that, or this thread that hasn't already been pointed out. I would like to think our club will try to take this opportunity to rid Scotland of the cheating, tax dodging, bigotted rapists of our game and look at the bigger picture and the good of Scottish football, rather than short term cash offered by Sky and the hoardes of knuckle draggers we are subjected to a few games every season. If a newco Rangers were to be allowed into the SPL it would confirm my suspicions that professional football in Scotland is rotten to the core and I would not be back at Fir Park. I would take part in next seasons European tour as an extension to this season but then would probably find myself a local junior side to start watching on a Saturday.
  21. Been bored this morning so taking a look at the futures up to the split to make some daft predictions. I think I'm right in saying that such useless predictions always turn up here on the run-up to the split so I'm going for: Rangers: Hearts (H) - 3 points United (A) - 0 points Celtic (H) - 0 points Motherwell (A) - 1 point St Mirren (H) - 3 points Total: 61 points Motherwell: Dunfermline (A) - 3 points Aberdeen (H) - 1 point Kilmarnock (A) - 1 point Rangers (H) - 1 point Hibs (A) - 0 points Total: 54 points United: Inverness (H) - 3 points Celtic (H) - 0 points Rangers (H) - 3 points Hibs (A) - 1 point Dunfermline (A) - 3 points Aberdeen (A) - 1 point Total: 48 points. St Johnstone: Kilmarnock (A) - 1 point St Mirren (A) - 1 point Hearts (H) - 3 points Inverness (A) - 0 points Celtic (A) - 0 points Inverness (H) - 3 points Total: 47 points Hearts: Rangers (A) - 0 points Hibs (H) - 1 point St Johnstone (A) - 0 points Aberdeen (H) - 3 points Dunfermline (A) - 3 points Total: 43 points I'm being harsh on our own chances as I think we will take more than 6 points from the next 5 games and United will be doing very well to pick up 11 from 6 - so I'm edging on the side of caution. Even still, this would see us 6 points clear of United with 15 points to play for. I would like to think we can at least match their points haul after the split. Also factored in my predictions is the fact that Rangers will be letting players go this week. If wee rumours of them being liquidated this week are true - and this seasons results of their games are void - St Johnstone and Hearts would lose 1 point each and while United and us haven't taken a point from them yet.
  22. Anybody know the answer to this? Been filling my own form in tonight and would rather spread it over 6-7 months than 4.
  23. It's ridiculous, I never tried too hard with the guy at the gate to be honest cos the guy didn't seem like swaying but going by the official site: Tickets will be available on the gate with admission prices as follows: ADULTS: £23 CONCESSIONS: £15UNDER 18s: £11UNDER 12s: £7 I'll be sending a wee e-mail to the club cos if I send it to Hearts I get the feeling it will fall on deaf ears. I met a student I knew inside the ground who had paid £12 with the early bird. To be paying more for a kid who just wants to see the ball getting kicked far and drink his juice is a bit of a scandal! Jambo 's.
  24. Not going to go into the match 'cos it's been coming and we can't complain too much with the results we've been getting on the road. And any time we take a good crowd a performance like that seems to always let us down. My main gripe today was the pricing on the gate. I had been calling Fir Park ticket office since the back of 2 on Friday to get tickets for two adults and an infanct (4 years old - his first game) which would have cost me £44 in total. Could not get through for ages before finding out that Hearts wanted the figures early and we couldn't get them. I had to take a wee hit of £9 then at the gate - gets to the gate and no juvenile prices. £15 for a 4 year old meant I was £61 for the three of us. The reason fans like myself don't make many games .
