  1. A few of my mates were pretty gutted with the result and performance last night and I thought I was the only one who was upbeat but it's good to see others on here seen the game the way I did. First of all, I can't remember Fraser being forced to make a save, so Llanelli got it spot on trying to nick a goal then defend. We've seen it work for Scotland vs France, Rangers vs everybody in the UEFA Cup. They had a game plan, got a bit of luck, and it worked. We were never going to score a lot of goals as we don't really have any strikers. The only striker we have with a bit of experience is Sutton really, and imo he is just plain rank. He's shown in the past he can find the net but in his time here I think he's shown that he's not a footballer. But I was impressed at how we set about the game, keeping the ball on the deck. Forbes had a good game I thought, aye most of his passes were sideways, but I think Gannon likes his holding midfield players, and he spread the ball around pretty well. I also don't remember him losing the ball in a tackle. We just lacked the killer ball, which is hard to find against a team willing to defend for 90 minutes. There were one or two moments that the ball was knocked long to Sutton, who flicked a header on for himself to chase, which was really all we done in Nancy under McGhee. So I was happy when we were playing the ball on the ground for the vast majority of the game. The 'big' players let us down on the night I thought. Reynolds was beaten by the number 9 numerous times, Craigan for the goal, Hammell hasn't improved since he left for Southend, McGarry for all his effort isn't good enough, and the less said about Sutton the better. The team that lost was McGhee's team, although had he still been at the helm we wouldn't have seen the refreshing sights of young players having a go and playing football in the right manner. I much preferred last nights defeat to the likes of the games against St Mirren last year. In fact last year when we managed a mid-table finish and played like we couldn't care less, I commented that I much preferred watching Butcher's team that finished bottom. So there are plenty of positives to take from the game in my opinion. Mostly that I can see a bright future with the manager's style of play, he will be bringing in more players, and that the youth development (which appeared to be non-existed a few weeks ago) looks as though it is still working when players can break through to the first team. It's only half time in the tie. We have another weeks training to work on things whereas Llanelli aren't going to get any better. I'm hoping to see the likes of Slane and McHugh start in Wales as they showed they can offer more than our remaining 'big name' players.

    Away Leg Bus

It's the Stradey Park Hotel mate. Pretty sure the first bus is full as I'm going on one of them but as of yesterday there were still seats available.
  3. The daily record says that he is favourite but it looks like they've put that in to fill up some space, really.
  4. John Hughes at it now as well. He can clearly see Hibs struggling, so is trying to get Falkirk relegated
  5. Odds on Betfair show Mowbray as the strong favourite. McGhee was down to 3/1 there (I have a cheeky wee £3 consolation bet at 23/1) but has moved to 7/1 with Mowbray the front-runner. Aberdeen then Mark?
  6. I don't think one good game makes a player worth signing. The guy's practically been a waste of a jersey and a wage since he joined and won't be here next season.
  7. I'm not one for calling for the manager's head but if Sheridan is here next season I hope McGhee isn't
  8. Will Haining's Mrs hoho. Welcome at Fir Park I'd say!
  9. We are crying out for attacking players but I'd say our defence has been a problem and although addressed, not resolved, by McGhee since he arrived at the club. With the defenders we have at the club perhaps another defence-minded coach could make a difference. For attacking options though I think we need a striker and a right or left mid as you say though. Porter and McCormack really need replaced before we can do what we did last season and I don't see Sutton or Sheridan filling the void. I'd like to see Murphy getting another run in the team and some of the younger players coming through but other than replacing the players we lose this summer I think we only need 2 or 3 new players.
  10. I take it it's a dig the same way as we all like to laugh at the 16 million tims that went to Seville and everybody and their dug that went with the h**s to Manchester but we won't get as much as we did in Nancy. I for one won't be at the first away game as I don't have the funds and have holidays planned. Nancy was planned well in advance as we were hoping for it all season as opposed to this quite sudden hope of a Euro trip!
  11. Well obviously I'd like us to finish as high up the league as possible but as you can see by the interest in this game compared to the St Mirren game two weeks ago, there is very little riding on it. Pre-season has virtually begun, sadly.
  12. Oh aye, well for the best interest in our games for the next few weeks it's probably best just to bet on our opposition. Every teams gonna be up for it in the bottom six apart from ourselves. As much as you'd like to think the players would still give it their all etc. it's not the same as fighting relegation.
  13. Would like to see Falkirk and Inverness stay up so not too bothered about the result today apart from the card count... EDIT: The split might not have done us any favours but it could get interesting the next few weeks. Hamilton beating Killie and Inverness beating St. Midden. If results stay like this there will be 3 points seperating Killie in 9th and Falkirk in 12th.
