  1. I haven't missed a game home or away(European games excepted) for 3 seasons and I can definitely say the atmosphere and backing at the away games is far better and supportive than at Fir Park. You get the odd negative shout etc of course but nothing on the scale of what you hear at home games which sometimes actually makes me cringe. I just cannot understand why some fans can be so negative and abusive towards certain players. If they shouted what I've heard at games at someone in the street on a Friday night they would be lifted.
  2. I've actually resigned myself to the fact that we're going to struggle at home for the rest of the season as its obvious most teams know how to nullify us and we just cannot unlock a packed defence and midfield. Whether the playets are just not good enough or the tactics are wrong or a combination of both I dont know, but the longer it goes on the more threads like this will appear which will do us no good in the long term.I know its frusttating but we just have to keep on supporting the team and the manager otherwise apathy sets in and we start arguing amongst ourselves and that soon transfers itself onto the team.
  3. I've said it in quite a few posts now that there is tremendous scope to enlarge the membership by offering longer payment terms rather than the current 4 payments. I've spoken to quite few people who aren't yet members and there is definite interest in being able to pay 12 instalments of £25 as that is affordable to many people in the current climate. I know some will say just pay the £25 into an account every month and transfer it every 3 months but I think the temptation for many would be to "dip in" to it for other things and it would go on the back burner so to speak. A monthly direct debit would concentrate the mind and wouldn't be missed as much. Feel free to shoot me down
  4. C'mon guys, Wednesday afternoon and no-ones posted up anything about the game 2 0 Well
  5. I personally think that he's a player who really needs to be in the thick of the action where the ball is and I think thats why he looks a bit disinterested out on the flanks I've seen him playing for the u20's a few times and when he's been played through the middle, he genuinely looked a different player to what you see most Saturdays. Looking for the ball and taking players on would you believe. Just my opinion mind!!
  6. See what happens when we stick to what we're good at !!!!
  7. These stories have been circulating on and off for months an the news that we are going to post a loss for last year and rumours that the European games didn't generate as much cash as hoped all go to fuel these stories. What I would like to see is the board coming out with a statement to the fans about the current state of finances to either put an end to them or prepare us for what potentially lies ahead.
  8. It is when you,ve got two central defenders who really aren't all that good in the air.
  9. Thats what pisses me off most. Corners should be whipped in at pace right on top of the goalie with someone standing right in front of him just like my old School gym teacher taught me.
  10. Bit of a long shot but I don't suppose anyone who was up at Perth on Saturday found a cd player and headphones in the disabled toilet?. My wee guy left them (gutted so he is) and they weren't handed in so if anyone can help please get in contact.
  11. The only concern for me today was Hammell going off. Physio had an ice pack on his leg before he reached the dugout. Hopefully nothing too serious. Great performance, defence looked fairly solid, Las being used in his most effective role and Murphy finally running at defences. A special mention to Hasselbaink, a diving wee c**t at Accies, St Mirren and still keeping up the tradition at St Johnstone
  12. Probably the cheapest way is the Megabus from Sauchiehall St to Broxden Services then the bus from there into Perth (sure one goes past the park)Megabus site currently offering seats at £6 each way (will get more expensive as the week goes on) and buses are every 40 mins or so. I would imagine £20/£25 or so would get you there and back. Sometimes good rail deals as well. Hope this helps
  13. A question for all those stattos out there that has been bugging me. I can't remember O,Neill doing us any favours in ANY games since the infamous Jennogate game. Does anyone know how many games he has officiated at since then and what our record is in terms of wins/draws/defeats with him in charge. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and those stats might prove me wrong but I'm convinced this guy has it in for us in much the same way Lennon was saying the same last season about certain referees and getting slaughtered for it. I'm looking at that team last night when we went 2 down and thinking to myself that we don't have any leadership or character to come back but then I think back to the St Johnstone game when we went down to 10 men and rolled our sleeves up and got in about them so I know it is there somewhere. Have we just lost it because players have become complacent and are suffering a loss of confidence or have the other teams got wise to us. I wish to fuck I knew and more importantly I hope to fuck McCall knows and can sort things out
  14. Radio saying that the linesman couldn't be blamed for not being able to tell if the ball was over the line at the disallowed goal. Why then did two cops standing at the corner flag come past us in the wheelchair section and say "that linesman must be blind if he couldn't see that was well over" Asked him to put a police report into the SFA about 2 guys impersonating match officials
  15. Gave some thought to that as well. Ojamma looks good down the right and as much as it will come as a surprise to some on here, I saw Daley having a cracker of a game and scoring a belter of a goal playing through the middle for the u20's against Accies. His hold up play was brilliant, always looking for the ball and McHugh probably had his best game in ages playing alongside him. Not saying he could replace Higdon or anything but if Ojamma was switched out right then Daley in the middle with Higdon might just work. You,ve then got McHugh/ Humphrey/Murphy on the bench as straight replacements if its not working.
  16. Seein as no-one else has started one Randolph Hately Kerr Ramsden Hammell Humphrey Carswell Lasley Law Ojamma Higdon Lets get back to what we're good at!! Picked Kerr over Cummins as a) Don't know if Cummins is still suspended and hasn't impressed me in the u20 games anyway b) Kerr looked no too bad when he was switched there in the Hearts game. Still not convinced by Ramsden but he's all we have in the way of an old head in central defence Play a midfielder where a midfielder should be and a full back where a full back should be. Two wide men who can both attack and defend(at least sometimes) when they have to and playing in front of full backs who can link up with them. Someone up front with Higdon so he doesn't look like a concrete pillar stuck in the middle of the park. 2 balls across goal on Sunday 2 shots at goal, says it all really
  17. I,m slowly but surely coming to the same conclusion. I take my son to every away game and have been doing that for the last 3 or 4 years. He uses a wheelchair so the match tickets are lower than that of a normal paying punter eg Hearts on Sunday was £15 but when you add up the cost of travel (have to drive to every game as we cant go on a supporters bus) food etc it is becoming just too expensive. I am seriously thinking about only going to the likes of St Mirren,Kilmarnock who are relatively close by and using some of what I would be saving to put in a fund to buy a 'Well Society membership for my son and just take in a Junior game when we are away.
  18. Just saved me a hell of a lot of typing
  19. The plastic seats at nearly every ground in the SPL are supplied by the same company so is a plastic seat say at Tynecastle for example more comfortable than the same one at Fir park?
  20. If we're looking at relocating and trying to keep costs down why not just move both the Cooper and South stands en masse and build two curved terracings using what seats/roofing etc that could be salvaged from the East stand meeting at each end forming a bowl of sorts.Alter the South stand to be similar in height to the Cooper You could either do it with both stands mirroring each other at the half way line and build a new curved terracing running behind both goals This would keep the current POD punters happy and give the Cooper punters a better view than they currently have. Alternatively one could go behind each goal and the terracing running both lengths of the park but current POD punters wouldn't probably go for that. Either way home and away fans would be easily segregated. Think that kind of set up could look pretty smart Don't know if the cost of dismantling/ transporting/alterations/extra materials and rebuilding would maybe outweigh the cost of just building from scratch though. I,m obviously watching to much of Le Salvager on the Discovery Channel
  21. I think we're in a catch 22 situation where we would need to borrow considerable sums of money to renovate Fir Park which we can't afford or hope that a developer would pay us enough for the ground to allow us to build a new stadium at Ravenscraig. Depends what value Fir Park has to a property company but I suspect not enough to fund a new stadium without help from 3rd/4th/5th parties which in the current economic climate would be a difficult task. Either way it will cost money which we don't have so the annual spruce up and fire fighting (literally) to maintain the fabric way well continue for years yet unless the economy takes a turn for the better or we get an unexpected offer we can't refuse.
  22. Kept gettin him and Omar mixed up. Crackin goal by Omar btw looked a lot better playing through the middle.
  23. Pretty sure he's no btw. It's an inbred thing. Thing that annoys me is on Clyde phone in you hear so and so from Motherwell has a point to make and inevitably he tuns out to be a celtic/rangers fan
  24. Just don't eat for the next week, you know you want to
  25. Well me and my son travel to every away game ourselves because he's a wheelchair user but I would def be interested in going to the away games on a bus, Means i can get a drink and I'm sure the patter would be great.Might mean I need a hand to lift him on and off the bus right enough. Would even change from drinking in the the Central to Allans if push came to shove
