ODonnell played in a kind of RWB/RFB role for Scotland and from memory did well in the more forward position so why not keep young Johnstone at FB and play ODonnell in front of him.

Probably but at the same time do you think a player who was captain of a relegated team would be an automatic choice for Scotland. More likely to get picked if he comes back into the team and plays out of his skin and drags us out of the relegation zone.

I would go further and keep young Johnstone at RB and play O'Donnell in right midfield, that way both full backs have got protection in front of them and our midfield is instantly strengthened.

I would be absolutely devastated if we were to go down and there would inevitably be serious financial implications long term if we didn't come straight back up and the danger is we turn into another Falkirk/Dunfermline. But I must admit a tiny little bit of me would relish not having to watch us play the usual teams 4 times a year and getting the chance to visit different places and grounds and be involved in a promotion battle instead of the usual battle to keep out the bottom half of the table.

I fear the stars are lining up against us unless we can get a semblance of a team on the park PDQ.
