  1. Hats off to the people in charge at Fir Park. Is the positivity coming from the board room actually starting to rub off on the rest of the club? We have been hearing what a great place it is to be. Well I suppose they would be saying that with the season we are having. Can you buy these positivity tablets somewhere or do you just put buckfast in your breakfast in the morning.

    Enjoy your stay Henrick :notworthy:

  2. Would be good to have another meeting this month just to clear a few things up for people.

1st of march seems to be the target date for knowing if it is going to work or not. But don't take my word on that.

Sounds like they are looking for peoples commitment by the 1st of march. I am starting to confuse myself.

  3. I like the idea of the Well Society, it is something I have been considering joining - I am still undecided at the present time. Becoming a Dad last June means money is a little tight.

I am pleased to hear the club have reopened avenues of communication and I think another one or two meetings for face to face discussion would be a good idea.

I'm not a season ticket holder, so despite buying the odd away ticket I surprisingly haven't received any communication from the club.

1 main concern - what if I commit £300 but the scheme doesn't take off. I am guessing it is completely non-refundable.

1 suggestion to people interested - Take a look at FC United of Manchester andAFC Wimbledonas examples of what a community club run by supporters can achieve with a good hardcore and dedicated support.

As Dylan once sang 'the -times-they-are-a-changing' and one quick look at the state of Scottish Football sends shivers down my spine.

If Motherwell can gather this hardcore support - and by that I don't mean those that go home and way, I mean those with the club in their hearts; genuine goodwill to the club - the they can survive, ride out the hard times and hopefully flourish in the future.

Selling Fir Park and building a new stadium will be a good and positive start, revitalising the club for the future. I hope we can get that far.

I couldn't get to the first meeting due to work so I do hope that more are announced. A series of weekly meetings would mean that those wanting to come in and spend time talking could do so.

Alison Wallace is who you need to contact although I am sure any member of the office staff will help you. If you contact the club I am sure they will send a well society pack out to you, either that just pop into the chapman building. If we can get past the first hurdle I am sure more will sign up. It is important that we take this chance.

  4. We have done very nicely over the last few seasons and had we not had to rebuild the pitch we would be doing even better interms of finances.

I really hope we can raise the money required. It will be a long time before we the fans could actually claim to own the club but it is a start and we must start somewhere.

To be honest I have had my doubts but I believe this is the safest way for our club to go.

We must avoid what happened when we almost went under.

Yes and I signed up yesterday

  5. Is the money raised not just an over draft for the club so when we have lean periods the money is there to tide us over. Well that is the way I understood it.

So basically a short term loan at zero percent interest.

The club must pay this money back asap.

If we don't get 250 thousand by the 1st of march then that is it. We will have to sell our assets or not renew some players contracts.

We need spare money in the bank.

  6. I think claret and amber are ok for the younger kids but are the kids that come to fir park of that age. I have often thought we are the steetmen so a super hero man of steel or a guy in a suit of armer.

Would the two people that wear the claret and mucky yellow bear costumes be annoyed if they were axed?

  7. For me the first 30 minutes will be key. If we are still in it after that we have a real chance. All of the players will have to be on top form. Edu will be suspended and we will have Las back or should that be KEITH so that should make a difference in midfield. The only problem I see is the last 10/15 minnutes of the game where Rangers will have slightly better quality to bring on from the bench and we just won't have that luxury. I would love to see Nicky Law running at Davie Weir. I think the old boy might just poo himself. 1-0 to the League leaders.

  8. Couldn't make the game today. Getting a tumble dryer delivered :wallbash: . So had to listen on line. According to the commentary team St mirren had most of the ball but on the bbc website we have 52% of possesion. Did Well fan Jane Lewis do the stats on the website?:whistling:

  9. If we could get four drummers then we could have perform something similar to Halestorm's drum solo, I think it's actually called drummer fun Or something. The band use it to warm up the crowd for their act usually two Or three songs in. I went to the taste of chaos tour last year at the SECC and they performed it then. It was brilliant

I think using drums to warm the crowd up is a good idea. Having more than one in the crowd during the match just annoying. i think we need to tip toe with the drum thing. Some of our older supporters hate the thought of drums at fir park, my dad for one. Just because we like it doesn't mean everyone likes it. Easier trying to create a better atmosphere with a few drums, than getting another couple of thousand to come to fir park.

  10. At the moment it is vital we pick up as many points as possible, we have a very small squad. The first quarter of the season will probably see us with our strongest 11 on the park so we must make use of this. Also something to consider is we are at our best when we play the ball on the ground with pace. The pitches in Scotland allow that at the moment so again time to take advantage whilst we can. And for those two reasons another 3pts for the league leaders.

Does any one think that the tabloids will use the line Killie to host League Leaders

  11. Glad some people got something from the club. I for one didn't and to be honest I am really angry about it. I don't want anything from the club apart from an apology. Getting into hamdpen ten minutes after kick off was a disgrace.

So close to not buying a season ticket this year because of it. We need all the fans we can get and to have our fans treated this way is not on.

  12. Is the plan to let Fir Park fall into such disrepair that the board will find it easier to persuad us that a new stadium is the only option?

The thought of having a stadium to be proud of would be great but what chances of this actually happening.? A stadium to be proud of 20 million, a lego stadium 10-12 million. Probably the lego one then

  13. I think the board have to be honest with themselves. We are going to need in the region of 2500 motherwell fans with a spare £300 to invest in the club. Leeann Dempster, Derek Weir, Andrew Wilson and Jim McMahon are going to have to do one hell of a selling job on this.

The focus must not only be towards getting even more money out of the regulars but also the people that can't make it to Fir Park week in week out. Personally this is where the plan falls short. I really can't see the fans that can't attend at Fir Park on a regular basis spending £300. £150 maybe.

As I have been attending Fir Park for 30 years I can see myself coughing up the £300 pounds. How many more will do this?

Having the fans having a say in their club is a wonderfull concept but stick 10 fans of the same club in a room for one hour and there is 100% chance punches will be thrown.

Hopefully more details come out over the next month and we can start to get behind this scheme. But until this happens all we can do is sit and wait.

  14. Came away from tonights game feeling fairly positive about the season ahead. Higdon did look a bit lost at times and I think he will take a few weeks to find his feet with his new team mates. The Hump still can't find a Motherwell player with his crosses. Big Hutch just gets better and better and Las and Jennings do the dirty work really well. Nicky Law and Steven Hammell look like a good match and I don't mean looks wise. One last thing, I think Craigan might be our new penalty kick specialist.. :notworthy:

  15. I filled in the forms to pay for my season ticket 6 weeks ago, still no payment taken! Have called twice to see what the script is been told they will call me back and had nothing! Starting to wonder if they actually want my custom!

They defo want your custom. I bet they will be really busy for the next week or so because so many people have held off until the last minute what with very little discount for early renewal. Just a word of warning. People don't tend to call you back in the UK. My pet hate :dash2:

  16. With 166 million in the bank, building our core support would be my first aim this would involve free season tickets for every well fan. Every Well fan over the age of 18 would get a free beer before every home game, under 18s would get an Irn-Bru  . This would be a three year plan. If it failed I would walk away. If it did work then I would think about new stadium plans. No point building a new stadium if we don't have the support to fill it.

Every youngster wanting to attend coaching classes would be able to attend for free if they agreed to become a well fan for life. Yes backmail

I would employ more staff so our fans got treated in the way they should be.

I would pay referees lots of money to be corrupt so Motherwell would win the league 9 times out of 10.

Once we were winning the league every year I would lobby Uefa to let us to play in the english premier league.

I certainly wouldn't line the pockets of players. They would have to interact with fans. Go on golf days, visit local schools, play playstation with the kids and help them with their football skills and they would have to do a full days work.

I would also get us a new mascot. Sorry Claret and Amber bears would have to go. We are the steelmen so a big 10 foot Knight with a suit of armour. Cheer leaders that were over the age of 18 and I think that would probably do to start with.

  17. If you actually sit down and look at the players we have from Randolph right the way to say Carswell you would probably say we are doing better than ok. A solid enough squad but take out say 4 or 5 first team regulars then things might get a bit hairy.

In John Porteous we trust :notworthy:

  18. Most of the responses to my post have been fair comment, but the point remains that we CANNOT continue to allow more players to leave than we bring in, unless we have one or two excellent youngsters coming through who are ready for the first team.

It does look like we are losing more than we are bring in. Some might say just getting rid of some dead wood. No disrespect to those who have left.

I totally get your point though. The players that have left, did they really add that much to the squad? Ok Sutton did but everyone else. Not really.

I want 2 more players of a decent standard brought in no more casa fecking golda milking Motherwell Football Club.
