  1. I have to admit I am totally against a ten team league but I cannot turn my back on the club I have supported for 32 years. I will be renewing my season ticket next season and the season after that and the season after that.(if I can afford it).

I want my son to be a Well fan (poor bugger).

I will be at the semi final. I am not going to let these fannies running our game push me away from supporting my team.

I guess this is what the SPL are hopeing for, that there are enough crazy idiots like me out there. That they can get away with this nonsense.

Really sorry to dissappoint them but there isn't.

The SPL think that getting more TV money will improve the standard. Wrong!

The most skillfull player I have seen in a Well shirt in the last twenty years was a young James McFadden. Not some Don Goodman, Ged Brannan or Shaun Teale.

The SPL want more money so they can afford to compete with the Championship for players.

Forget about it. We are a small country that cannot compete with the fan base the money men and the TV revenue. Ok we are a feeder club for the English. The English Leagues are amongst the richest in the world we will never compete.

UEFA have also got a lot to answer for in all of this. The champions league used to be a league for champions but now it is a league for the top teams in Engerland, Spain, Italian, and Germany. Spurs in the Champions league? They are not Champions of their country so they should not be in the champions league.

Sorry I could go on forever about what gets my goat about football but I will never change it. The only thing I can do is support the team my father brain washed me into supporting so that is what I am going to do and hopefully I will manage to brain wash my son as WELL. Keep supporting the WELL!

  2. :) Seriously..!! You have no idea...?? Why don't you come down to Fir Park every Saturday morning and watch those people training the young uns.. They work bloody hard as my boy goes there every week. It is a bloody pleasure watching potential future players being put through their formative years by these guys. Not only do they train at Fir Park but most of the Leisure centre's in the community and Dalziel HS run training sessions coached by these guys throughout the week as well. I can assure you that these guys are in the heart of the community in Motherwell doing their bit as two of my sons have had the pleasure of being trained by them. Maybe you should have a closer look at the courses and see how many courses they run rather than just pulling a page out the website and questioning their professionalism.

That is half our problem people don't appreciated how hard some of these people work. The whole community thing has been turned round at the club and people at the club are very enthusiastic about how well it is working. I love the critics on here.

  3. Amber Nectar - Look as far as I'm concerned, you're coming up with ideas, at least you're volunteering them and at least you are trying to address our chronic shortage of funds. Only thing I'd say, even when the majority on here have suggested it doesn't appeal you have to keep in mind they would be the target market. When that happens, no need to flog the idea to death.

In his defence, some of the criticism of his suggestions has been over the top.

In his defence, what do you mean? in his defence. Away and fling shite at myself is totally uncalled for. We are all Well fans and I would never aim that at any fellow Well fans no matter how much of a twat they were.

I take your point about doing my idea to death just thought it was a good idea.

  4. Seriously, as I said, have a word with yourself before you decide to come back and play the super-supporter role.

Alternatively, away and fling shite at yourself.

Well thanks for all the abuse. So I come up with an idea, get ripped for it then get told to fling shite at myself. And I thought I was entering into an adult conversation about helping Motherwell. Sorry for my ignorance. I ain't no super supporter I just support my team. End of and I just want the best for Motherwell just like every other Well fan.

  5. 3000/1 to win a car a lot better odds than 100,000000/1 to win the euro millions. Just an idea to raise some money for the club. I haven't heard any better ideas. Other than selling stuff on e-bay which most people on here think is a fantastic idea but very few can afford to bid. I think the club have sold two items for £225 each. How else can the club raise more money to spend on players, stadium and other stuff. Sorry for giving a toss about the team I support.

  6. What is the point. John Boyle pumped Millions into Motherwell and won nothing infact he lost the lot. If you add it up over the years we have all pumped thousands of pounds each over the many years we have been supporting Motherwell. Might as well pull the plug on the whole thing. Cause we are just going to keep pissing our money down the toilet. I have supported the Mighty well for 30 years and I ain't going to give that up that lightly. I can just hear you all when Motherwell are shut down. Me tripping? You must be having a giraffe. i just want the best for our team. Nothing wrong with that or is there?

  7. Looks like we are screwed then. If people won't fork out 30 quid to win a car but they will fork out £30 a month for sky tv so Man UTD Chelsea Arsenal can pay their players £100,000 per week. Makes me sick.

  8. What about 125 year celebration grand prize draw. Buy a ticket for £30 and you could win a car. Tickets only available when you entry fir park for a game. 3000 tickets sold = £90000 raised, minus £15000 for the car and minus the money for printing the tickets. You are talking in the region of £70000 raised for the club to go towards stadium repairs or youth developement. Who would part with £30 quid to win a car? Sell tickets to Well fans attending games from the start of the season to X-mas time. Giving fans a good chance to attend a game and purchase a ticket. Over a six month period you could find people buying more than one ticket. I don't have loads of money but I reckon I could find £30 quid and with a chance to win a car thrown in I am sure I could find the money. I could cancel my sky tv for a couple of months and give the money to Motherwell.

  9. Does anyone think that the biggest problem is the one up one down promotion/ relegation. Why not just give the teams in the first division a better chance of getting promoted. Stick with the 12 team league but have 2 teams relegated and two teams promoted. You could even have another promotion/relegation place with third bottom playing third top in an end of season play off. We also need our reserve league back or an under 21 league with the ability to have say four over aged players playing in each game.

This loaning players out gets on my wick as well. You shouldn't be able to loan players out. Each team has a squad of players to choose from this usually includes a number of younger players. Give them the chance. Getting loan players in only prevents your own home grown players the chance to play first team football. Whilst a player that is not ours get first team football. This should not happen.

  10. So as has been mention the two leagues of ten is about strengthening the second league so they have a better chance of making money therefore strengthing Scottish football. Ok so what about Rangers and Celtic giving the rest of the teams more of the money to strengthen scottish football. Sorry I forgot they can't do that because it isn't fare. They are on the tele more so they must have most of the money.

Instead of a top division why not have 2. Yes 2 top divisions.

League A would look something like this / League B would look like this.

    Dunfermline / Aberdeen

    Hearts / Dundee

    Dundee Utd / Hibernian

    Falkirk / Rangers

    Livingston / Clyde

    Celtic / Hamilton

    Motherwell / Airdrie

    Inverness / Morton

    Partick Thistle / Ross County

    Raith Rovers / Ayr United

In each league each team plays each other twice. Then the top 5 teams of each league form the top league for the remainder of the season. The points will be set to zero again and then the so called best teams will play each other twice to see who will be champions of Scotland. No relegation in the top league just go for the championship. Relegation for the bottom four teams in the second league. There you go scottish football is saved. Job done :drinks:

  11. Price is the a massive issue. People won't pay anymore. They are fed up with getting charged £20. £22, 26 pounds to sit and watch total crap football. Once fans have gone it is nearly imposible to get them back. When are clubs going to wake up and have a real go at getting fans back. Its about the fans. This is the first thing that needs sorted not the size of our league. Worry about the fans first and then the tv. It is TV that is killing our game when are we all going to realise this.

  12. The media may want bigger more intertaining games but what happens when there are no fans in the stadiums. Will the media still want the product.

Motherwell sorry John Boyle spent a small fortune on players wages when he first bought the club and as far as I can recall the product on the park was not that great infact some may argue players we have brought through our youth system have been of a better quality.

McFadden, Pearson, Reynolds, Hammell, Murphy. Players we had when we had money Karl Ready, John Spencer, Ged Brannan, Don Goodman.

Scottish teams have always lost players to the English leagues so lets just get over it.

We have some really good young players in this country so lets start promoting them.

I went to watch Livi under 19's v motherwell under19's not that long ago and the quality of some of the football on show from Livingston was fantastic to watch. Slick one touch ball on the ground football. Some of the best football I have seem this season. Stop thinking we have to compete with the english league because we can't. Accept the fact we are what we are. I have always been much happier watching a young promising players giving his all than watch an over paid numpty from some second rate english league.

The best players to pull on a Well shirt in recent times have been McFadden, McMillan, McCulloch, Quinn, Clarkson, Murphy all home grown talent so accept we grow, we sell. This is the way of Motherwell Football Club. Fine by me. Bigger league so these young talented lads get more first team action.

  13. All this negative talk is getting me down so some positive stuff for a change.

We have a fantastic goal keeper on a three year contract.

We have a new manager that is very positive and hasn't come out and said we are a stepping stone for him to move onto bigger things. Well he hasn't said it yet.

We have some decent young players. Hutchinson,Saunders,Page, Meechan, Smith, Hateley, Murphy.

We have a league cup semi final to look forward to.

We have a decent playing surface now although a lot of our players find it really difficult to pass a football on it.

We have two midfielders who I would consider to be two of the best in the league with Jennings and Lasley.

We are sitting mid table in the league with 24 pounds and we are not Hibs.

Happy to be a Well Fan :whistling: And Kevin McBride has been told to look for another club by Hibs.

Happy days! Just think we could sign Brian Kerr and Kevin McBride.

  14. We would probably need to sell an extra 2000 season tickets to reach the same income. If 2000 people payed that extra 30 quid to win the car that would generate 60 thousand pounds. so say 15 grand for the car and the rest goes to the club. We get a chance to win a car and the club get an extra 45 grand in the bank. :D

  15. We all think the product on the park is not worth paying what we pay for it. So reduce the prices. Will this make a difference to the product? probably not. Well not to begin with.

The first thing the clubs need to do is get bums on seats. This will attract Sky and who ever else to televise games. Watching games on the tv with 3000 people in the ground is shit. Being in a stadium with 3000 people in it is shit.

So make prices so cheap you can not resist taking your family and friends to watch Football.

Make a real commitment to letting kids in for nothing for the next five years.

Buy a season ticket and you could win a car.

Come to Fir Park as an away fan and you could win a car.

Clubs need to think outside the box.

As flow suggested more tv money lower prices. Bollocks. More tv money more money to pump into over paid shite players.

You pay less money to get into german games and you can have a beer. You cause any trouble you get the living daylights kicked out of you. The tv companies want to cover the games because there are people in the stadiums. Get people into the stadiums and tv companies will want the product.

Make all adult season tickets £125 and kids in for nothing. Give it five years and see what happen. If you want a chance of winning the car pay £30 extra onto the top of your season ticket. Simples. Lets get this sorted and now.

  16. It is all about money. The English leagues are killing scottish football. Mark Reynolds wants to play in Engerland for the money as does every other player. Look at O'Brien, McCormack and so on. I don't give two monkeys about England and their shit football. Give me shit scottish football any day.

  17. I hope the Motherwell Board wake up and vote against this 10 team league. Stop thinking about the TV money and get our supporters back. You are destroying our club please stop it. It is our club and we don't want a ten team league so please vote against it.

  18. I just wish someone had the balls to do something about this. We are pandering to Rangers and Celtic again. The more times you play Rangers and Celtic the less chance you have of winning the league. So reduce the number of times you have to play them. I wish managers outwith the old firm would stop this aim for top six shit. We want our teams to have a right go and win the league. Teams need to wake up. Teams down in Engerland are starting to have a right go at Man U and Chelsea and look at the results. People need to grow some balls in this country. Season tickets should be slashed in price next season. Kids in for nothing and every adult season ticket £200. 125 years of Motherwell this year. Come on Motherwell show some fecking balls. Can't really include Leeann Dempster in that last comment.

  19. If we had a league of 18 there would be meaningless games near the end on the season. Big deal. The clubs that had these games could introduce their younger players to first team football Which is very difficult to do in todays set up. You could have play offs with the bottom two teams being relegated and the 3rd bottom and 4th bottom teams playing each other to stay in the league. The losers would play third place in the first division for the right to play in the top league. This would probably keep at least 8 teams involved in the relegation battle right up until the last few games of the season. This would leave the rest of the teams to concentrate of europe and beating rangers and celtic. A lot more teams could go out and actually try to beat the old firm instead of trying to get a point. If teams only had to play each other twice there would be more chance of a really good game as the teams wouldn't know as much about each other. The whole thing stinks. Will Motherwell, Hibs and Aberdeen still be for it if they get relegated. I think not. The teams in the SPL can not see the bigger picture. People are turning there back on football and they will not come back so their son's and daughter's will not come to football. When are the clubs going to wake up they are killing our game.

  20. An empty stadium after half time time might make them realise that we are not going to sit back and let them do this to us. I don't want to take my money away from Motherwell. I just want to show people what Fir Park will be like when we get our 10 team league. Although we will probably end up in the fist division anyway. If we walk out at half time the only money Motherwell will lose will be pie and bovril money.
