  1. I wasn't having a dig or that. Just thought it was a bit strange. They are/were a fairly big club so I suppose they'll have a large fanbase reaching reaching the far corners of the globe (even Strathaven)
  2. I know a few, and they're all from Strathaven!
  3. I think it's a decent move anyway. It might not work out however, and he could end up back here a la Stevie Hammell or Keith Lasley. The only way he was ever going to find out if he was destined for greater things was by leaving, the same as them.
  4. I'd be more inclined to avoid the score and watch as live at half 5 (or 11) on Alba. Did that the other week for the Hearts game
  5. Well after a quick check on wikipedia Poland has a higher UEFA coefficient than ourselves. I was also basing that on the fact Polish teams in recent times have snapped up some of Scottish footballs more exciting prospects (and for reasonable sums that we couldn't afford): Barry Douglas and Ojamaa for instance. And the fact their national team has been more successful than ours. I've no idea what kind of contract Hateley will be on over there or even exactly how much he was earning here, but I was just hazarding a guess that due their average attendance being over 17,000 a week they could probably afford a lot more than us. The product might not really be that much better and they might not have much more money, just think they're reasonable assumptions to make. If anything else playing in front of bigger fanatical crowds in a quality new stadium will be a draw. Playing football in a European country will surely be a good thing for his career, besides. Good experience and will look good on his CV. PS. I've heard Wroclaw is lovely this time of year
  6. That Slask Wroclaw are a much bigger team than us (and tranmere) for a start so he'll definitely be getting paid more than we would have been paying him. The Polish league is also stronger than ours, with the exception of Celtic. I also think there stadium might have been built/upgraded for the Euros a few years back so that's another plus. Edit: Picture found
  7. This is honestly mind-blowing. What you've basically managed to do here is pick the shitiest team that we wouldn't be able to afford/attract. You could've at least aimed high. FM is not the same as real life
  8. I'd imagine he would have agreed some sort of compensation with the club. He still had two and a half years to go on his contract, which could've been worth well over 100k. The fact he wasn't getting a game and had another club willing to take him on means I doubt he would've drove too hard a bargain though.
  9. I'd imagine so. I'm sure I managed to find a stream for Celtic TV the last time we played there.
  10. Angelis Charalambous - shite at football, good at driving tanks Lewis Grabban anyone? Paul Keegan is quite possibly the worst though. Why Malpas decided to sign some ageing striker from the League of Ireland I'll never know. He was really just some old man. I've played fives against old dafties that are better
  11. In fairness, Aberdeen are miles away from anyone. Dundee is closest, yet even that is over an hour in the car. The travel time from Motherwell to Aberdeen is about the same as Inverness to Aberdeen, and shorter than Dingwall to Aberdeen. It's shite living up North
  12. Yes. On to some more pressing matters. What did everyone think of Jim Gannon?....
  13. Fair enough. I thought Hateley was far from shite, far from brilliant as well, but he picked up well over 100 appearances in 4 seasons for a reason
  14. I think Hollis is decent. I have no problem with him being our No. 1 for the rest of the season. Young Twardzik did do well the past month, but so did Hollis before he got injured. Neilson however....
  15. I think Hateley's main problem was his surname and who his old da is. 'Tam Hartley' would've been a favourite
  16. All the players being praised (and rightly so) for the performance today and the last few games. I'd like to praise Mr McCall. His team selections and tactics have been absolutely bang on. Here's to another 3 years!
  17. I thought everyone was excellent today. Ainsworth was unbelievable however. He is a winger! He is also the reason why we've been so good as late. He must stay!!
  18. Thank fuck for that! Not a brilliant game today, but far from the terrible one I was expecting. We played decent in the first half, although County were atrocious. Touch of fortune about both our goals. Think Sutty's first took a bit of a deflection which wrong-footed Fraser in goals. The second one the keeper palmed Anier's shot straight to big John who was able to nod it into an almost empty net. County improved a lot after the break. The big black boy, Luckasson, was a right handful for our defence after he came on, setting up their goal. We sat back a bit and invited them onto us. Defended fairly soundly, few last ditch tackles and clearances off the line. We created a lot on the break and had about as many chances as they did second half even with all their possession and pressure. I wouldn't say we had any poor performers today, although Vigurs didn't exactly come back to haunt his old team. Ainsworth was brilliant down the right hand side. He beat his man just about every time. He still needs to work on his crossing but he'd be my Man of the Match. Sutton put in his usual shift and got his rewards. Anier looked a lot better, held the ball up well and could beat a man if need be. Faddy showed some class when he came on, skinning quite a few guys when were keeping the ball in the corner. Everyone else was sound. The boy Twardzik (and he is just a wee boy) saved his shots well, but gave me the fear when crosses came in. I don't think he even thought about coming for a single one, never mind taking any. McCall In
  19. And a midfield five of This Patter Is Fucking Pish
  20. Doubt I'll be able to make this one (that could be a blessing though). I'm heading down from Inverness after work, was always going to be tight, but with the weather the A9 will be slow-going I'm sure. I struggle to really see how we are going to hurt them. I keep hoping that Faddy will finally come up with the goods, but that is looking less likely with every passing week (and month!). Our defence really needs to be on top of their game as well. None of the standing off nonsense like when we played them at Parkhead. This has got 3 (going on 6) nil written all over it. I'll go for 2-1 to the good guys however
  21. Those sequence of events also apply to the drinking -Saturday night, mwi -Sunday, deid, never again -Monday, still dying -Tuesday, feeling alright again -Wednesday, ch-ch-ch-choking for it
  22. Dafty Dafty Dafty Dafty Dafty Dafty Dafty Dafty
  23. Or at 3 nil Celtic. Whichever comes first
  24. They would struggle to beat any of the 1st division contenders in a play off. Also, Hearts are looking like reaching a positive points total before Killie will reach double figures.
