Why are you talking about Wullie McFadyen. Nobody brought him into the debate, other that Welldell. Noboby has said anything about him being there to score goals. The older members of this forum have never mentioned him. So what's your problem? I do agree with Shotts. Faddy will always be one of my favourites, as would Davie Cooper, Dougie Arnott, Tom Boyd, but you have to remember these 3 players were playing for Motherwell 20 years ago now! Your wrong! It's only younger fans who can't compare, because they have only seen the modern players. Older guys have seen both the older players and the younger ones. So they can make a comparison. Whether you like that comparison or not is up to you.

You obviously forgot the team of the 50's who won the league and the Scottish Cup. How many scottish international players do we have now. In the 60's we had five Motherwell players in the one scottish team. No it's unfortunate but the guys of today are definately fitter but they are most definately not better.

Unfortunately guys of 50 years and older can go back to days when Motherwell had real quality players and could afford them. So when they do watch players who are trying hard, but don't have the basis skills to control a ball or pass it to their team mates, or continue to just lump the ball up the park to no-one, I can understand their frustration, because it get's to me as well at times. They have at least put their money into the club by attending, so have some right to criticise.

You have got it 100% correct. If we could have the Hately of early last year back. He would be a useful member of that midfield. But sadly he seems to have lost his way at the present.

As you say absolutely spot on. Why can we never get referee's who are at least competent at their job. We should've had a penalty just before Hibs score, and in my eyes the only reason he gave the next penalty, was to try and make up for his initial mistake. Yet again a total arse of a referee.

I think you've made a very good point Starsail. I look at Coke now, and I see somebody not producing what he did when he joined. What might also help, would be to close the south stand for games other than the old firm, and perhaps Hibs and Hearts. Less stewards and police, and make savings there, and pass some of that saving on to the supporters through lowering prices for those games.
