  1. Went for John Sutton, he won nearly every ball up front, unfortunately Jamie Murphy was never close enough to take advantage of them. J O'B gets mentioned because he finished the game by giving away the penalty, up until then Motherwell were the better team.
  2. I guy called Bobby Russell scored a double hat trick against Falkirk I think. Six goals in a 9 - 1 thrashing.
  3. Come on Mr Boyle. Get on the phone to Luc Nijholt NOW, and get him to shake hands with McGhee on his way out the door. You know it makes sense!
  4. What we don't need is another manager trying to make a name for himself and then move on, be it Neil Lennon or anyone else. I believe we should look for someone with experience. A Tommy McLean or some one like that, who is on noboby else'e radar, and would be happy to stay with Motherwell for a few seasons to get some stability back. This changing managers every season or so is hopeless for continuety, and for attracting players.
  5. If we could get somewhere and recreate the Nancy Trip atmosphere that would be fantastic.
  6. I don't agree that the only reason is to get pissed. I was at Nancy and the atmosphere and friendship of the fans there - pissed or not was fantastic, and a very uplifting experience. I would like the opportunity to have that again, hence hope we get the place in the Europa Cup.

I think your wrong there. I'm sure the tannoy said over 2800 in attendance.
  8. Seems like we've fell right out of the game! St Mirren all over us.
  9. Have any St Mirren players been booked? Their in the running for this Fair Play place as well.
  10. Just shades it as the worst manager ever, just ahead of Roger Hynd. But still the luckiest man alive, just ahead of Andy Watson. Does anybody know what he does?
  11. Best news for a long time. Well done to everyone concerned, including the board, and to all the Motherwell fans who let our chairman know what we thought about the Cooper situation. No means No!
  12. I'm afraid I blame the manager. As soon as Aberdeen went to ten men, he should have brought on Sheridan and Murphy and taken off Sutton as well as McGarry, and went for the three points. Instead he pissed about and didn't make his substitutions until it was too late. Definately two points thrown away.
  13. Got to be Charlie Aitken. The best uncapped wing half, who could head a ball better than anybody. What a player!
  14. They were certainly not the better team, especially in the first half, and we were denied what looked like a certain penalty, when Sheridan was brought down. The ref bottled it, if he hadn't I think we would have went on and won the game quite easily.
  15. My one claim to fame is I played golf at Wishaw with a four ball consisting of myself, Dougie Arnott, Jim Griffen and Willie Pettigrew. Heaven!
  16. What a lot of pish! Charge Celtic fans what they charge us, end of story! As for the USH. It's all supposition as to whether it's working or not. Let's hear it from someone who knows, then we can discuss it.
  17. I think it will be same front men as saturday ie: John Sutton starting, and depending on how he reacts change to Sheridan. Hughes back in midfield. Lasley on the bench.
  18. The reason I left the Trust was Martin Rose. I'm afraid I believe he is in it for himself, and not the fans. He doesn't come across as someone who listens to other people's opinions.
  19. Quite a few good performances. Craigan, O'Brien but Klimpl was tremendous in breaking up attacks. So Klimpl for me.
  20. It has to be Charlie Aitken, the best header of a ball I have ever seen. He played in a team full of talent. Guys like Bert McCann, Ian St John, Willie Hunter, Andy Weir and Pat Quinn. But he was just magic.
  21. I have to take exception to Mark McGhee's comment regards showing loyalty towards him in the record. He says "In turning down Hearts I chose a job I knew would be much more difficult for a lot less money. I expect loyalty from our supporters in return." Who does he think he is! I have been a loyal supporter of Motherwell for over 40 years, and whether it's Mark McGhee or Mickey Mouse ( are they one and the same?) who is the manager, they will get my loyal support all the time. I just wish he would get on with the job in hand, of motivating the team to get the results we need.
  22. Unfortunately it won't matter what night it's scheduled for if this frost keeps up. The game will be off!
