  1. Lots of very good performances, but Scott McDonald by a mile.
  2. I should have posted yesterday, because I thought it would be James McFadden, so I'm absolutely delighted that it is him. Sentiment has nothing to do with it, we all know he will put everything into the role to make it a success, because he has the club at heart. Congratulations to him, and every success in the role.
  3. I agree with the point that too many changes can be a bad move. I would stick with our most recent 442 formation that worked. Gomis on the bench, Lasley back in midfield and replace Pearson (suspended) with McFadden.
  4. Got to say I'm happy with the appointment of McGhee. We now have to all pull together and get this club safe in the Premier League.
  5. John Hartson did that all his career and got away with it, why not skippy!
  6. Listening to Craigan, I wouldn't be unhappy if he were to get the job. He came across extremely well in his interview
  7. What he needs to do is get back to playing football on the deck. Stop what has happened in the last two games, with the goalkeeper humping the ball upfield at every opportunity, in the hope that one of the forwards might just get it. The last home game was just turgid, not once did the goalkeeper roll out to feet and try and play from the back and through the midfield. It was murder to watch. And then they wonder why people don't come back to football. Even I (and I've supported MFC for 50 odd years) have second thoughts about attending if this kick and rush football continues.
  8. The manager's probably going to play two goalkeeper's on a Saturday, to try and stop losing silly goals. One stays on the line and the other goes for cross balls. What a waste of money!
  9. Only problem is, that's another new player trying to fit into the team. Hope it works out of course.
  10. It's interesting to see how the home strip has polarised opinion. It's seems it's a case of you really like it or you really hate it. I hate it!
  11. Well at least if you guys are right about the diagonal stripe, that saves me thinking about buying a strip this year. I won't be giving it house room.
  12. Sorry, but I'm totally against a sash. As has been mentioned we had one before, and it was naff then and it will be naff now.. Let's keep with tradition and have an claret hoop on amber please.
  13. The boy reminds me of McFadden when he broke into the team. Full of confidence in his ability, and willing to run at people. Defenders don't like that kind of attacker. He is one of the young guys that deserve, and should get, a run in the team. He's exciting to watch even although he makes mistakes, he's still willing to take on the opposition again and again. Hopefully Barraclough can see what a lot of posters on here can see, and give the boy a chance.
  14. Name me a poorer team then please
  15. The biggest problem is that we not had a settled team on the park since the start of the season. Can anybody tell me if we have had the same team on the park in consecutive games? How can you get any consistency when you can't even get a settled team on the park. My only hope is the new players settle in quickly and we get a settled team on the park for a few games.
  16. Where the hell is this defence? It doesn't matter who we play the defence is posted missing every game!
  17. Totally agree. If anything like this happened I'd be back to fishing every Saturday. Football would be finished for me.
  18. Yes it's looking like we do need a change. We have a situation where David Clarkson is training with us but wasn't what we were looking for IE: a goal scorer !
  19. Sorry, but at this moment this "team" can't create chances. They are the lowest scoring "team" in the scottish leagues. We are playing like we are relegated already, and it won't be long until that becomes a reality. This bullshit that we'll come good the next game is just that, bullshit! McColl played all his experienced players against Aberdeen, and they showed they are not up for the fight. John Sutton has completely lost his way, the goalkeeper kept humping balls up the park to him, and 99% were just headed back to allow Aberdeen possession again. What McColl sees in Josh Law, I just don't know, can't pass, can't tackle, a complete waste of a wage that could have been used to give McFadden a contract, who, even half fit, is a better player than Law will ever be. A midfield that doesn't seem to know where there supposed to be on the park. There all over the place, no structure! A defence that can't tackle. Did you see McManus's pathetic attempt to stop Haynes going through for Aberdeen's goal. Over the 50 years or so I've followed Motherwell, I have never been as worried about my "teams" performance. I highlight team because at the moment that is one thing they are not. They can't even pass to one another. I really don't know how they can drag themselves out of this mess, and believe me I've see Motherwell in the lower divisions before, and would again if the worst came to the worst, but my worry this time is the possibility of administration or worse if we go down.
  20. We didn't have as many injured players when John Porteous was still here!
  21. TAM I am with you 100%. An unfit Faddy would bring more to the team than Josh Law ever will. I believe Faddy would be happy to take the kind of money we are spending on Law. Remember we also have another ex player training with us that would be a better option than Law in Stephen Pearson. I know he left under a cloud, but he is another who has experience , similar to Faddy, and could bring on the younger members of the squad like Leitch, Thomas etc. Neither of these two are playing, so we should be able to negotiate a sensible salary that suits the club. If they don't want it, fair enough, leave it at that and move on, and give Don Thomas the chance to fill Josh Law's boots.
  22. Does the fact that John Porteous has left for Hibernian have any bearing on the amount of injuries we have at the moment. It just seems that all of a sudden were having more problems than we had in the past with players picking up injuries.
  23. Can only add to the sentiments already expressed. It has been a fantastic achievement to again be at least third in the SPFL, with European games on the horizon. For someone who has seen our team in lower divisions over the years, to have this sustained period in the top teir of the Scottish game is remarkable. Well done everyone at Fir Park!
