  1. True that. Imagine the uproar if we did a hearts and let the manager disappear for over half a week in the run up to the biggest game in years. I suppose it’s not much different to the arrangement we had with mcghee second time around
  2. Same 3 for me - james Scott was decent enough too
  3. Hylton long and Grimshaw the 3 best players for me. Hylton just shades it. He’s on an excellent run of form
  4. Debt repayments are not tax deductible as they are already shown in the previous accounts as a creditor. Only interest on tax is deductible and as we had interest free loans then this won’t be a factor. as far as I could see the loss is largely a result of lower than expected performance in league and cups and pitch and stadium repairs.
  5. Celtic have already hinted that they are looking to strengthen in other areas now
  6. Just think that some were demanding maguire playing ahead of donnelly recently
  7. He looked a long way from playing when at the last home game
  8. He was decent no more than that. Partly responsible for their goal, although it was a great finish, and on another day could have given away a penalty. Was the better centre half though as mckenna was on full blown bombscare mode.
  9. Les was never there to be anybody’s mate. Notwithstanding the financial input, he was there to steady a ship which was in danger of capsizing under LD’s watch
  10. Good 3 points against difficult and organised opponents. They will cause everybody in the league problems. Thankfully our centre half’s and goalkeeper did particularly well. And good substitution from the manager to counter the oncoming aerial bombardment. winning when not playing well hardly a bad habit
  11. Campbell was terrible until he scored
  12. Campbell was not jaded, just desperately poor. It wasn’t the result of the international break. If he’s jaded in October then something is fundamentally wrong
  13. No one with pass marks today but maguire campbell seedorf and polworth an elevated level of shite
  14. I know - it was also an injustice leaving Dortmund being beat. We deserved a draw arguably more. Another injustice was to follow in the return leg led by the referee
  15. Absolutely deadly for sure. I’ve convinced myself his only miss was the one in Dortmund
  16. The new signings are clearly shite
  17. The point I’m trying to make is that Declan Gallagher is not good enough to be playing for Scotland, perhaps I never made that clear enough for you
  18. Is he decent - well yes he is. But let’s not forget he was 2nd best defender at Livingston last season. Halkett isn’t even an international class defender and he’s ahead of Gallagher in the queue. Don’t recall much clamour for either of them last season when they were at livi. Neither of them have suddenly improved tenfold and suddenly become anything more than spfl premier level defenders
  19. The only Motherwell player anywhere near full internationals for Scotland is a fully fit and performing David Turnbull. There’s a hell of a powerful claret and amber lenses being worn
  20. The compliance officer should be too busy building a case against the Cnut that is Tom Boyd and his employer
  21. We are trying to bring a forward in
  22. I think it’s fair to say without any hesitation that we were absolutely shite last night. Marginally better in the second half than in the first but that wouldn’t be difficult. Where do I start? Gillespie had barely made a mistake all of last season but has had 3 shaky games on the bounce now. I wouldn’t be averse to seeing Carson back next week if he’s fully fit and recovered. Harsh but if Carson can recover his form from his first season he’s too good to be sitting on our bench. Grimshaw - wow - one of the worst performances I’ve seen from a Motherwell full back since the days of Tony straker (Richard Tait also in the running after last night). Think somebody said before he plays like a sensible soccer player running about until invariably someone gets their fingers stuck between the buttons and he kicks the hall out for a corner from the half way line. tait. What the fuck has happened to him? You can moan all you like about him being played out of position but he still can’t defend or get back in position and looks unfit. dunne will get criticism for his distribution again. For what’s it worth he played a couple of cracking cross field passes last night. But it should have been left at that. No need to over egg it. Defensively just fine. Gallagher was solid defensively and calm in possession. Looking an astute signing. donnelly nowhere near the worst again but he’ll be the scapegoat any time we lose. Not the long term answer in that position won the ball back a few times and at least managed to get a shot on target unlike most of his colleagues. A few rogue passes as is the norm. campbell seems to be escaping a lot of criticism but he’s not doing a lot right at the moment. Not winning the ball back and poor in possession. polworth looks like a championship version of David turnbull. I don’t want that to be derogatory as it wasn’t intended to be. He’s got ability for sure but the sum of the parts don’t add up. Smashing pass for the goal and one of the few likely to make things happen. serdorf. A work in progress according to the manager. Not sure we have the coaching staff to turn him in to player good enough to be starting for us. forgot Hilton was playing scott. Unfair to judge him last night as he was starved of service. If we could get a number 9 in that was good with his back to goal I would like to see him spending s year in the championship as he would develop and probably smash the level. the subs were a bit meh but at least long showed he could slot if given the chance. all in all a forgetful night at fir park
