  1. If you are comparing then it has to be apples with apples. Sammon has played most of his life in spfl premier and English championship - not the Vauxhall conference. His record in scottish premier is better than bowmans.
  2. There weren’t many complaints when Hartley was made captain in the summer?
  3. I don’t think he’s the answer either for what it’s worth but he can’t be any worse an option than main whose spurning chances game after game.
  4. Sammon would have scored far more than 2 league goals if he was presented with the same chances main has this season
  5. Angled towards the big goals
  6. Carl mchugh was terrific at centre half. That’s where he should be playing not midfield. Gillespie excellent too. it may not be what people want to hear but I thought sammon played reasonably well second half too.
  7. Record profits https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2018/11/28/2017-18-financial-results-announced/
  8. Glad for the players and the manager tonight. Hopefully produce something similar on Saturday and build confidence from there
  9. Hope so - should be a boost to his confidence.
  10. Nail on the head. He’s got the technical ability akin to eliphas shivute
  11. There’s a number of inaccuracies above regarding the value of his development fee. If he goes to hearts we will not receive £600k or even close to it. The opening poster may prove to be right with his exclusive but If hearts have aspirations to compete at the top of the league they will need much better players than Chris cadden.
  12. Yeah I agree lambert was arguably the most talented playerbto play for us post Scottish cup win. Never got the credit he deserved while playing for Motherwell - it was almost as if he never existed until he joined Dortmund then Celtic.
  13. Lambert has won almost 1 game in 2 in the Chapionship and managed back to back promotions with Norwich. Not too bad a record to me
  14. Turnbull was one of the few positives. A few lovely passes tidy in possession. My man of the man of the match. That said his fitness will need to improve because he was absolutely finished at 75 minutes on the clock but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt as the pace where he has been playing is significantly different from first team level.
  15. Lasley is part of the failed regime. If we need a stopgap craigan should be before Lasley in line
  16. What a congregation of shite we have accumulated. The so called stars of last season, Carson Campbell Hartley main all sudddenly look like plodders. Don’t get me started on cadden or Donnelly. The managers not helping for sure, granted. Mchugh has been our best centre half this season and gets put in the midfield to beef us up. He could easily have had a few red cards today and no one could have complained. The turgid style of football will only be accepted if we win and that’s not looking likely any time soon. There’s very few positives to be taken from today
  17. When dunne is back we should keep mchugh in defence and bench either one of Hartley and Alfred
  18. The comments ill advised as they were sure beats the hell out of Stuart McCalls vibes on the lead up to the rangers games. Will no doubt come back to haunt us but it was funny.
  19. Playing the most ugliest brand of football and winning is almost tolerable but there’s no hiding place if we get beat. Robinson is therefore rightly open to criticism in my opinion and that comes from someone who has been fairly supportive of him in the past. The problem we now have, amongst many other deficiencies, is that we don’t now have any central defenders comfortable playing from the back and in Hartley and Alfred (and dunne when he’s fit) have an ultimate hoofing gene code. Kipre wasn’t perfect, and it wasn’t without risk, but he brought the ball out from defence reasonably well. Another gripe I have, and it’s one that every Motherwell I spoken to on Saturday agreed with, is that Robinson somehow sees sammon and main as a viable and effective strike partnership. This should be the last we see of this, even if it is a week too late. There are many other issues from Saturday and previous games that I could raise but in the main I can’t be arsed as most have covered the very same concerns. It’s just a pity that after 4.5k home fans felt enthused to attend on Saturday, a significant proportion will seriously consider not attending the next few home games.
