  1. A win and there's nothing virtual about it, we would be safe. Even if St Johnstone and RC also both win we would be 6 and 7 points ahead respectively , effectively 7 and 8 with our vastly better goal difference so they would both need 3 wins from the last 3 games and as they need to play each other that can't happen.
  2. It's the SFA we're talking about here a critical review and owning up to making a James Hunt of running Scottish football, operating VAR etc are not concepts they have any understanding of and never will, it will be another promotion from within to replace Crawford Allan who will do as they are told so they don't upset the existing clique.
  3. I would think It all depends on what conditions Mr McDiarmid the farmer who gifted the land to St Johnstone put on the transfer at the time. Maybe there are restrictions preventing it from being used for other purposes etc, so effectively rendering it unsaleable.
  4. I think it has to be Obiye up top with Bair that seems the obvious choice assuming SK will start with a defined front 2, as I hope he does. Nicholson might do a job in midfield but Oli Shaw should be nowhere near the team, he's contributed nothing since he came to the club.
  5. Is that not how refereeing is supposed to work, the ref ruling on the result/ outcome of a players actions?
  6. The managers and coaches are not just ex pros though are they, they have all taken on extensive training and coaching qualifications on no doubt all of the aspects required to be allowed to look after a top flight professional team. So when it comes to judging players they see every day at training, planning how to approach a game etc I know who I would rather have doing it and it's not somebody who watches from the stands and thinks they are Guardiola or Klopp.
  7. Of course players can challenge, but a straight leg studs up lunge that caught the Aberdeen player in the groin area is not a challenge its assault.
  8. Ah I see it's the " never mind working hard to get your UEFA coaching badges, just become a social outcast, spend all your time in the bedroom posting on forums, playing football manager or whatever its called on the PlayStation" argument that will serve you better, ok then
  9. Bullshit, if it had been the other way round would you have been screaming for a red card for the Aberdeen player, of course you would. Oh and whether there was any intent on Vales part is irrelevant, it was a reckless challenge that endangered an opponent, as I said red card in any league.
  10. Watch this, it was a Red card all day long, high tackle, straight leg, studs up, reckless etc etc. https://twitter.com/afc1903mad/status/1784337585864667351?t=oypvhiAlyiyF0mLH0VXZcg&s=19
  11. Me neither he can be really good but he's a potential bomb scare at times guaranteed at least one or two mistakes every game.
  12. I take your point RE Kelly, he's the last line of defence, if the defenders in front of him are not doing their job then it makes his job a lot harder. Stop the crosses coming in and you'll stop a lot of the goals we concede
  13. Actually there are 3 teams below us in terms of goals conceded, Livi, Ross County and Dundee so we're not the worst. As for goals scored we're joint 4th with Hearts, behind Celtic, Rangers and Hibs.
  14. If SK had been sacked we would probably be heading to the Championship by now, and the usual fuckwits would still be whinging about the new manager and how they need to be dumped. I'm glad the club seen sense, it's stability we need not a constant churn of managers every other season.
  15. No emoji required, I always judge players on how they perform, don't always get it right as I thought Bair was brutal but he's a great example of how new players should get time to settle and prove themselves instead of being written of as shite after 5 minutes.
  16. 30 years old never played in the top league, scores a few goals but not exactly prolific. I don't think he'd be a direct replacement for Spittal but our midfield has been a problem for years now, so hopefully this has finally been recognised. He has plenty of experience so that's a bonus. As always if he is coming on board he will be judged on how he performs.
  17. The who gets what per week debate at whatever club etc is pointless as it's all uniformed bullshit guessing from all of us the only people who know for sure are the actual players and the clubs wages department.
  18. I think some on here have an unrealistic view of just how much a typical Motherwell player earns. We are now used to describing your average footballers wages in the 10's of thousands etc but for me I think that's fantasy land when discussing Motherwell. There may be 1 or 2 senior players on maybe 2 or 3k a week, but I believe the vast majority of the squad are on significantly lower wages than that so £600 a week may be nearer the truth.
  19. Thanks Theo nice to see your backing yourself, self confidence is important.
  20. At the financial levels we operate at re wages etc £750k would fund possibly 4 or 5 players, so it's very decent cash to a club like ours. And the bigger English clubs know this all too well, it's small change to them.
  21. I give you Kevin Van Veen we cashed in perfectly on him, as we did with Michael Higdon. The Motherwell way is cash in when the decent cash is on offer.
  22. We can keep him till next summer, if his agent has a sniff of a better deal for him elsewhere he wont sign an extension and let his contract run down and we get feck all. So if that happens the club will say yes take the money on offer and say thanks Theo best of luck with your career.
  23. In the real world a player is only as valuable as what another team are prepared to pay, no offers no sale and he walks for nothing next summer.
