  1. Well said mate, 100% agree although my dad was a Rangers fan so he never could understand why I went to Fir Park never regretted it for a minute.
  2. Dundee untd currently getting ripped a new one by AZ Alkmar 5-0 down and its not even half time, no wonder we are a Diddy Nation in uefa's eyes
  3. After the Alexander stadium alleged joke you posted the other day, it's time you had some competition means you need to up your game.
  4. In football by the time you start to learn from your mistakes you have been punted and are unemployed, and typically you revert to type when and if you get another gig so the mistakes you made before will invariably happen again as you are convinced your approach is correct, then you get punted again and the merry go round continues ad infinitum.
  5. A bit strong but why would you feel that way? Given the timescales we are in, season started, transfer window closing etc Hammell knows the players and the problems we have got so he could be up to speed quickly. I would like to think that the recruitment team have identified possible targets so that moves could be made when the new manager is known. Hammell would not have been my 1st choice for manager purely down to experience but if he gets the job I'll get behind him , it will be a challenge but that's the way you learn and get experience so fair play to him for putting his name forward.
  6. Would be easier to sort out brexit or the Ukraine crisis, there will be people on here having a meltdown telling folk how bad an appointment it is within 5 mins of it being announced, then another 2 min to get the Manager out thread started.
  7. My thoughts as well Dave, none of the names mentioned so far inspire confidence, and given the season has started whoever gets the job has to hit the ground running and get the squad playing very quickly. Another issue we have is that this deep into a transfer window by the time the new manager asseses the squad and decides what we need there will be no time to recruit successfully, so we may end up having to run with what we have till January. This is a very important decision for the club so here's hoping they make he right one.
  8. There's a very big difference between having a positive mentality, which is a good thing, and having mental health issues which should never be used a a criteria to determine someone's suitability for a job or anything else, and then further compounding the issue by stereotyping him as " aggressive, wild, out of control etc" .
  9. What a feckin ridiculous comment to make on someone's mental health issues, so now he's wild, aggressive, unstable and out of control ffs. Supporting Mental health issues is something Motherwell as a club are very strong on and something our fans should be proud of irrespective of who it is.
  10. The Scottish Premiership is a big step up from Omonia in the Cypriot league, just saying like.
  11. I take your point but if it did happen and he got us playing to the best of our ability and winning again would any of the other stuff matter, if he turned out to be a good coach, for me it wouldn't. But having said that given all the media circus that surrounds him and the inevitable bigoted shite from the hoardes of blue and green uglies that will come our way, it would probably not be in the best interests of the club to appoint him which would be a shame as I think he is a decent coach. All speculation of course but it would be a big risk for the club.
  12. so we need a new manager, a decent left back a holding midfielder, a prolific striker and now a forum joke teller, that was bad even by your standards.
  13. Stop talking shite , out of order, a player of his status .....he was the club captain ffs it was exactly his job to speak to the players and find out their views etc, so if that's what happened it was well within his remit. God knows why you and others have this love in and obsession about defending Alexander and trying to convince folk he was hard done by the fans players and club, wake up and smell the coffee ffs and have a look at what state he left the club in
  14. UEFA have compiled a list of all the points scored by individual teams in Europe since the competitions began in 1955-56, Motherwell are not in the top 100, but we are 10th in the Scotland country rankings, interesting reading, https://swissfootballdata.com/2022/08/07/uefa-country-ranking-historical-statistics-of-all-football-clubs/ As expected Rangers are 10th Celtic 15th in the top 100 list, surprisingly Aberdeen and Hibs made the top 100 list as well.
  15. What the fallout was about is irrelevant its the fact that there was one that's important and GA'S stubborn refusal to resolve it and play a senior pro, who was still getting picked for the international squads ffs at a time when we were struggling big time. So yes Alexander deserves all he gets from the fans for his shocking man management and the state he got the team into.
  16. No he didn't the wotds used were maybe GA was right big difference, the article confirms what we all suspected that Alexander was prepared to leave out a senior pro and international player when we were struggling to win a game for weeks on end, over some no doubt petty argument, a shocking way to manage a team.
  17. Correct, pedigree is a luxury we can't afford even if it was available. We have brought in some affordable ordinary looking players in the past that have turned out to be very successful for us a few more like that is what's required now. But for me it's going to be difficult now the season has started and this late in a transfer window, we could be stuck with what we have till January.
  18. Take the timing away from the referee Dave, copy the example of American football, have some official sit in the stand and every time the game stops they stop the clock, that would soon stop all the time wasting and nonsense that goes on,
  19. Livescore had it as 2 bookings not that it matters but good to see Gallagher keeping up his consistently bad form since leaving us, as for Robinson I don't he will last till Christmas on their current form, failing again with a lot of the players he failed with at Fir park you've got to laugh.
  20. As brutal as we were last season even in a league of shitey teams someone has to a little bit less shite than others and take the prizes, that was us so we made Europe because we scraped enough points to crawl into 5th, so we deserved it as we we collected more points than the 7 teams below us. That said I take your point about it doing more harm than good, but that's all down to Alexander sticking with systems that didn't work, brining in players not up to the job and presiding over a shambles of a preseason with unfit and unmotivated players. Whoever takes over has a big job on their hands and needs to hit the ground running before the season gets away from us.
  21. So your an educated bilingual prick then, take a chill pill ffs.
  22. Last week was a surprise but honestly we are feckin hopeless at seeing games out a 92 min equaliser should have been game finished and take a well earned point, but giving away corners and defending in our own half that late in a game is feckin criminal, and allowing feckin Stevie May who would struggle to score in a brothel to get the winner is even worse. Two games in and I am already getting the fear about how this season is starting, anyway rant over I'm away to wring my pants out.
  23. Boyd and McKinnon were decent full backs in their time, Boyd might be an obnoxious celtic obsessed arsehole these days, but he was a decent player back in the day.
  24. That would be a great idea to improve the game in Scotland but it will never happen. The cosy wee cliques that run the SFA are so intent on copying the FA in England there is no chance of a proposal like that being adopted. In all honesty I think the SFA don't give a feck about clubs like Motherwell etc getting knocked out of Europe before most teams are back their holidays, they are quite happy to do all in their power to keep the ugly sisters happy as they keep the coefficient up, and typically have extended runs in Europe every season, so as long as 2 clubs are happy the other 10 premiership clubs get no help at all.
