Have a day off ffs aye the whole team could come down with covid, or millons of other scenarios and we'd have to play the boys, does anybody else think that's a risk no, so stop talking shite.
-
I know its difficult for you but try and engage your brain before posting ,so assuming a bid was made, how has snodgrass messed Hammell about? He goes to the board and asks for cash to fund a bid, they say no problem Stevie go for it, he speaks to Snodgrass how about it then Snoddy want to join us at Fir park and subsequently gets a knock back so cash saved. Do you think we were the only option Snodgrass had, given the level he has played at so no messing about its just normal transfer dealings.
-
Why was talking about snodgrass a mistake if the rumours were true he was only telling the truth ie that's a player he would like to sign, and if we made him an offer and he turned us down where's the problem give Hammell a chance ffs and stop looking for issues where there are none.

Why, Tierney was excellent on Wednesday looked dangerous everytime he went forward he deserves to keep his place in the team.
-
It's constructive criticism all just commenting on an aspect of his game that needs improvement , a bit like the feedback you get for your jokes
-
Ross Tierney for me I thought he was excellent never stopped running and looked dangerous every time he got forward with the ball, the ICT players could not cope with him. A special mention for Efford and Penny who were also excellent.
-
Agree with this, i watched him tonight and a good number of his kick outs and throws went straight to an ICT player, and on the odd occasion when he did release the ball early it never found a Motherwell player, that's the part of his game that needs to improve.
-
Everybody knew that, you don't suddenly go from beating AZ Alkmaar in Europe without conceding a goal to finishing your next 4 games with a -23 goal difference, Saturday will be a very tough game.
-
Agreed just back in thought we were brilliant tonight, it was 4 but in reality should have been at least 6 as ICT offered feck all. Some of our play was a delight to watch, and no hoofing the ball up the park at every opportunity was a welcome bonus, every player looked up for it from the 1st whistle, so all in a very good result. And then we get a boot in the baws with the QF draw, 2 teams to avoid and anyone of the other 5 would have been a good draw and we get Celtic FFS, honestly if it wasn't for bad luck in cup draws we'd have none.
-
For me it was never Kelly's ball to come for, was it Goss supposed to be marking Taylor and just let him run past him for a free header, and if Sol had been further over to cover he would have got the ball instead of the half arsed attempt he made.
-
As long as you can log in you should be ok, If your not an ST holder then when you buy the ticket you should get the option to collect from Fir Park or have it emailed to you to print at home and/or store on your phone.

Aarons is a punt, as is Penny, McKinstry and just about every player we sign, some turn out well others don't but that's how we operate without having wads of cash and blowing the wage structure to sign proven and established players who all cost lots more than we can afford. As ever I will judge them on how they perform and not before.
-
Not on topic but that worries me , I would rather have played them with him in charge as I reckon the team were not playing for him, but hopefully we can keep their misery going.
-
Agree with that, but you probably should have waited till next week and after we hopefully beat them before posting, given our record against teams needing a moral boosting win
-
Aye the the preferred method for some on here to judge a player, i know feck all about him and never seen him play, therefore he must be shite. People really need to get a grip on reality re the quality of player we can attract to Fir Park given our budget, loan signings, young players looking to develop their careers, lower league players we can take a punt on etc develop and sell them on for a profit. That's our market, its 5 games into a season, the transfer window is closing fast, so it's the free agents and last minute loan deals that are left, hopefully we can unearth a player that will improve us, as we have done a few times in the past, so here's hoping.
-
Ross won't be in charge of untd next Saturday its currently 7-0 to Celtic after only 63 mins.
-
Lucky penalties, flukey results aye you could be battered for 89 mins but the only thing that matters is who scores the most goals and if you score more goals than your opponent you deserve to win the game that's how football works, goals get you points, so we deserved the wins against St Mirren and Aberdeen. As for the penalty later in the season with Var we probably would not have been given it, but as we stand the Livi player gave the linesman and Ref a decision to make and we got it, they thought it was a pen nothing to do with luck. It will even itself out over the season as we are bound to be on the wrong side of a decision at some point, so my post was not based on selective memory we have earned and deserved all the points we have so far and if we knew how to see a game out we definitely should have had another 1 from the St J game and at worst 1 from Killie.
-
In this league those are the games you need to win, Kilmarnock were joint bottom with a -8 goal difference for a reason ie they are honking. When you're 70 mins into a game and winning 1-0 we should be seeing those games out, but as I have said before were are feckin brutal at managing that, we constantly defend too deep and invite teams onto us, that's down to the midfield going missing. As it stands 9 points from 5 games is decent but in all honesty it should have been another 3 today and 1 from the St Johnstone game which would have had us joint top ffs on 13. The Dundee untd game is important now as I expect them to get nothing tomorrow so a win against them at Fir park next week is vital to keep a nice gap early in the season and have us looking up and not down going forward.

Sadly I have to report the death of a former long term BT colleague and lifetime Motherwell fan, John Stevenson, John had been a season ticket holder for a long number of years and sat in the pod alongside myself, Kmcalpin and others for many years. To my knowledge he was never a member of the steelmen online forum but I thought it would be appropriate to mention him on here as a mark of respect for a lifetime well fan, whose company we enjoyed at matches for years. His two passions in life were Motherwell and rugby as he was also a season ticket holder for Glasgow warriors at Scotstoun. Due to serious illness, pancreatic cancer he never renewed his season ticket for the 21/22 season , he never really recovered after the chemo treatment, and finally passed away yesterday, aged 69. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him .

Nah not for me, we've been down the paying big wages to average players road and it nearly killed the club. We are a well run club just now with a financial structure that means we are living within our means on the fanbase we have which is the only way to operate. The model has served us well over the years ok no major cup wins etc but reasonably regular Euro qualification, 2nd and 3rd place league finishes, cup finals, etc so why break the structure that is working well. Paying large wages to a few players only upsets the other players who may not be getting the same, and remember the poor players only getting 1 or 2k a week, that's a 100k a year salary.
-
How difficult can it be to find a left back that's better than McGinley or Carroll, who let's be honest have both been brutal anytime they played.
-
Sounds like copyright Chic Murray for that one, are you running out of original material.
-
We really need a genuine rumour to discuss on here before the nonsense takes hold and Grizzly's jokes start to look funny
-
A reasonable pished suggestion but no chance of it happening, back to Rangers maybe, but not another Scottish Premiership team, the problem is he still thinks he can make it with a top premiership team in England but the reality is he is not as good as hes made out to be, still a good young player, his best move is to quit Chelsea and get back playing regularly as he's never going to break into the chelsea 1st team especially not with Tuchel in charge.

Ref gave a straight red in the Newcastle v Man City game this afternoon to Kieran Trippier VAR had a look, ref was asked to review and he changed the red to a yellow thats how it should work.
