We have an excellent chance of catching untd, they are at Ibrox tomorrow and then they are at home to Celtic on Wednesday so it's very unlikely they will get any points from those 2 games. So potentially if we beat hearts we could be 2 points ahead of them with 1 game left.

When are people going to realise that from a squad of maybe 15 reserve players/ colts/development whatever they are called these days we will be lucky to get 2 or 3 that will make the step up to the 1st team, the rest won't be good enough. People seem to think they should be played irrespective of their readiness and/or ability to do so , that's not how it works. Motherwell have an excellent record of "giving youth a chance" Turnbull, Hastie, McGuire, Cornelius, Johnson, to name a few in recent years not every one makes it, but to say they never get a chance is just wrong, if they are good enough they will.

Where to start with that post No youth, our best prospect are getting game time, Cornelius and McGuire before his injury, Johnson is out on loan but is showing promise as is O'connor the rest are not good enough for the 1st team. Ross Tierney for me, had a great game needs to be starting every week.

Today we had more possession, chances, shots on target, Kelly never had a save to make, hit the bar and post, great save from Siegrist from Tierneys header but had no luck at all. Untd got a lucky break with the deflection off Lamie to go 1 up and that was all they offered the full game. We done more than enough to win that game today, but lack of firepower up top cost us, KVV was a big miss. That said its 3 games to go and we are still in the running for the Euro places this will run to the end, I've not seen any fat ladies singing yet, coyw

I think their main criteria for recruiting players is " have you played for Motherwell at some point in your career"

I am all in favour of VAR for correcting decisions like that but given the standard of refereeing we have in Scotland I have concerns that they will not be, especially in decisions against the uglies, the 2nd half of next season will be an interesting watch.

Nah just stating the facts, I know you have trouble with them at times we have been brutal but not as brutal as half of the league below us.

Don't talk shite, our players and the managers tactics etc are obviously better than the six teams who were below us at the split so you are correct the league table never lies. So even if we don't win another game this season the record books will show we finished the 6th best team in Scotland this year.

Reading some of the posts on this forum you get the impression that some people think we should not be in the top 6 or we have made it there illegally. Yes we have been utter garbage since Christmas but so were the other 8 teams outwith the top 3, we made it by picking up vital points at Ibrox, St Mirren, Livingston etc while the others around us failed so we are there on merit. Apart from the ugly sisters and Hearts the standard in the premiership is brutal but the league positions don't lie and after 33 games we were better than the 6 teams below us. I really don't know what some people expect from Motherwell, every season 10 teams start the league with targets of avoiding relegation, top 6 finish and a decent cup run, and a shot at Europe, so for me we have achieved 3 of those targets and still very much in the frame for the 4th. So if we do make Europe then for me it's been a good season.
