And you know this as fact?

Yes , don’t know there exact figures but can guarantee Dunne isn’t on anything close to £1,000 a week you’ll see it in his “re-signing” post some of the comments. Lamie and White will be round about the 700-800  mark.

Its bang out of order giving players pelters on twitter and tagging them in it and even more so to slate them to their family.

That said you're not going to gain anything from sticking up for your son/partner/mate after they're tagged in a mean tweet.

Tbf his Mrs started the problem especially today taking sly digs at the club many times in just normal posts, however do feel sorry for the big guy as you could see he clearly didn’t fit our style or our standards. Every footballer gets slated on Twitter these days it comes part and parcel with it, family members getting involved just makes it worse especially in the case where she has made silly comments which will provoke a reaction.

This was posted in P&B on Ross County thread. Not sure how accurate but makes for very interesting reading.

Would make OHara our highest paid player yet still on less than (almost) 3 times what Hastie is on at Rangers.

At 1st glance Hamilton and Livingston stick out as lowest budgets as few of their players are on more than £1000 per week. Makes what Livi are achieving all the more remarkable.

Well Ricki Lamie and Jordan White aren’t both on 1k+ per week that’s fact. Neither is Dunne his wage relatively very low as he’s not exactly been playing and wasn’t expected to so his is very much on reduced terms. So aye a wouldn’t believe every single one you see there, some will no doubt be about roughly correct though.

Merit in what you say about ‘not a time to just to throw them in’ but, ‘clearly aren’t good enough (or they’d be in the team by now)’ can be dismissed. There’s too many variables - many a month went by & Turnbull et all were kicking their heels...

He had already players in numerous games by that time if I’m correct could be wrong and you could instantly see his talent. Albeit the team were struggling but by no means relegation talk in October when he eventually got his chance, that season you obviously had Jake come back from a loan as well from Alloa were he done semi decent and by all accounts if he didn’t come on against Ross county in the cup and play well or score he most likely wouldn’t have went on to do so well. The likes of Devine or Cornelius etc haven’t had much exposure to first team football, Devine had a pretty poor spell at QoS that was cut short due to covid, Cornelius had very few cameos. Don’t know much about the rest bud MacIver did impress me for the reserves and against County scored a good goal but after that he has just been an okay player and won’t make it at this level as he didn’t seem to set the fire alighlt at Morton. He also gave the ball away every time he had it against rangers granted its the hardest game to come on but you’ve still got to show urgency and freshness which he didn’t for me. The likes of Johnston id like to see more of him, to be fair it is a shame for these guys this season that haven’t had a loan move as they haven’t played any games at all and just making up the numbers at the moment without the reserve league.

Who exactly? We have NOBODY at the club we can develop. Weve literally sold anyone we had capable of controlling & passing a football.

Exactly and especially not in this time of the season, a 6 month loan of a player from the English prem would be ideal, relegation battle to throw in our youngsters who clearly aren’t good enough (or they’d be in the team by now) not a time just to throw them in.

We are second bottom and absolutely murder,if that doesn't have relegation written all over it,I don't know what does.

Up against a Ross County team that seem full of belief and beat the same Aberdeen 4-1 last week, and hamilton a team who continually no matter how bad they are defy the odds and add to that beat us 3-0 at the start of the month.

Interesting read, maybe it's just a sign of supporting Motherwell but wasn't aware that we made money from our players playing at a tournament. Also positive that he is saying the right things in terms of focusing on Motherwell, even if his agent is allegedly saying otherwise behind the scenes.

With regards Long's demeanour, it reminds me of Roy Keane's postman analogy. His job is to score goals and help us win games (which he has done when played in his position), not look happy.

Yeah I pointed that out as a potential reason why we should be keeping him and let him stay until the end of the season and that way both parties are happy we get a small sum and he gets his big move.

  8. Definitely 1 and possibly 2 signings this week. Fingers crossed. I assume 1 will be a striker however like above I agree regarding Long however if he doesn’t want to be here and continues in his huff then so be it, however with a new manager and arm round him some new found confidence with him up front with Cole and Watt battling for places and potentially 1 more. I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing us go 442.

  9. Reliable source. I agree as well though however he did sign for them in March but couldn’t play as the virus hit. It’s a pretty uninspiring signing for a 32 year old who was starting to fade at Aberdeen. Personally I’d prefer someone younger. However his scoring record speaks for itself and if he can come in and hit the ground running to take us up the league it’s fine by me.

First rumour, Harry Smith, striker from Northampton, via P&B

Apparently us and county in for him.

Already a reply on Twitter offering to drive him up here, so that tracks.

Tbf Cambridge said the same about Jake Carroll and many other players the same just clicks for some players so I don’t take too much to what other fans say.

Part of me thinks the English are trying their best to make it look bad so they get to drop it!

Europe works perfectly fine in the main. I believe it doesnt get used for marginal offsides. A foot is offside, but a lace or a pube isnt counted

That’s what it should be everywhere and what I’d think is personally the best solution

Seeing the mess that the EPL have made of implementing var, the thought of letting the SPFL loose on it gives me the fear.

Should only use it for stuff like penalties, with offsides it should be ones where they are unsure and the player has to be completely offside, not an armpit hair offside.

That’s what I think we need too for what it’s worth.  Being greedy, the midfielder should be able to create and run beyond the forwards to provide additional goal threat. Getting that within the parameters of our budget may prove to a challenge however

Although we’ve got the likes of Campbell, Polworth, O’Hara I still feel this season we lack quality, when Donnelly is back who knows but to get in a top loan player for 6 months who goes into that starting line up is a must for me. Striker who actually looks like scoring, commanding/ leader centre back, 1 or 2 wingers and a Right back if O’Donnell leaves.
