I think once we're safe we should see Morrison get a few games and we'll start next season with Carson as number 1 but with Morrison getting more games time with the eventual hope of Morrison taking over as number 1 before the start of 2022/2023 season.

Never thought Morrison would make it to be quite honest thought Rohan Ferguson was better than him if I’m honest.

  2. @Onthefringes Some information we both received and agreed on, can we be mates now???

In all seriousness he had a scan today for a mystery injury, detailed as a muscle injury? It’s been evident this season he doesn’t want to be here beyond this season, not necessarily him more so his agent sending things to multiple media outlets etc. I like the big guy I do and he’s undoubtedly over the past 18 months been our best player, but nobody is bigger than the club, especially when he’s going round liking fans tweets then removing them, all I/ we ask at Motherwell is you give 100% when at the club and considering he’s a club captain it’s extremely poor for me. If we wants to renegotiate his contract to leave in the summer then let it happen but I wouldn’t be giving him a platform for the euros if I’m the manager.

I am going to pick up on this comment above. Not a go at u supermarv.

I am not sure I understand the chucking his toys out of the pram stuff. He signed a contract with we believe a contract extension triggered by x amount of games.

If someone comes in or came in with a decent offer I am sure we would consider it. But it has not been reported unlike Campbell or Nisbet for example. Nowt we can do if no one is interested. I am quite surprised there were no bids but not our fault.

We have always said we would not stand in anyone’s way if our valuation is met. Same will apply in the summer if Gallacher is contracted for another season.

Totally understand your point but I guess not everything is made public. With my comment “By Chuck the toys out the pram” I mean trying every trick in the book to not play, he’s also trying to renegotiate his contract to exclude that trigger clause, personally for me I’d punt him. I don’t understand why he’d want to jeopardise a euro spot or turning potential suitors away however he obviously feels strongly about leaving the club and not signing on again at the moment. For a captain of a football club I find it very poor. We shall see tonight if what the rumours and what people have been told are true I guess.

    Nothing about tease.

Transfer window now closed & with Euros on the horizon he’ll need to play at least 1 game between now & season end. A scan would rule out any impropriety on a contract trigger surely?

For once I’m going to agree with you, received the same information... He can Chuck the toys at the pram if he wants just means he’ll likely ruin his euros chances, Kind of points to why we signed 2 defenders and I expected him to leave late on on Monday.

Signing two centre halves suggests that Alexander has the same opinion of Lamie and McGinley as most of us.

Looking forward this summer is going to be our biggest rebuild yet. Looking at the squad Watt and Carroll are the only two you would put money starting the first fixture of next season with potentially Lawless and Donnelly joining them. We are going to need a lot of new players.

Am I missing something what has McGinley done wrong? I’m on the bandwagon for Lamie though, should have been signed as nothing more than back up, however I think McGinley is more than capable of doing a job, unless he’s not doing it in training but whenever I’ve watched him he’s been decent.

nope ill disagree with you there Shaka.

yes hes left footed but very much plays on the right to cut inside rather than going outside if playing left wing.

came on against rangers on right also.

Played wing back for Livi, pretty much played every where for them, there’s no point sticking a winger down as “left winger” or “right winger” as these days they can usually play either it’s how the work in the system. He seems like a player that would easily slot in at both and other positions if need be.

I really dont know what some of our fans are expecting? Who wants to come to Motherwell in the middle of winter during a pandemic to fight relegation for £1k a week? Seriously?

Im not gonna say Im inspired by any of the signings. To be fair, I hadnt heard of most of them. However, we needed to freshen the squad up. We have done that. It remains to be seen whether any of those signed will be any good. However, lets wait and see. They are all short term deals until the end of the season, so the risk to the club is minimal.

Im just delighted that Deccy, SOD and Campbell are all still here.

If the mananger can continue to coax performances out of the squad, like the 2nd half  v County, then Im reasonably confident we will stay up. Beyond that its hard to say.

Especially during the middle of a pandemic and most guys will be moving up here themselves (if from England) difficult situation but as an overall we are in a far better position and had we had this team at the start of the season we’d be up nearish the top 4.

I have a small hunch that Roberts will come here and do a job for us, his kind of last chance saloon as hearts clearly don’t rate him and if he gets papped from there he’ll be back to league 2, comes here for 6 months recaptures his previous form of a couple years ago and his career goes up the way.

  8. Both signings don’t scream exciting to me but it’s still essentially an upgrade on what’s here for 6 months. If I remember correctly Roberts was pretty decentish at ICT and ended up back down south and earned a move to Ipswich (championship at the time), he’s got ability but clearly not shown it in his last few moves but it is slightly baffling to sign someone who can’t get a game for hearts but if we signed him last summer we’d have been happy with it.

Nolan isn’t a stand out name either but he’ll be pretty solid and looks a complete hard nut. I think we’ve got enough to beat the drop and build again in the summer, let’s just hope both players can make an impact over the course of the next 6 months and maybe longer.

I'm hoping he's not what we were referring to in terms of brining in more players.  Hopefully he and S'OD will be classed as retaining with + 1 o 2 new faces arriving.

In reality it's a pretty grim barrel that we scrape around in.

No I think it’s more in the basis of the players retained or leaving category with the likes of Dunne, SOD etc. Defo 1 and possibly a second which is exactly what Burrows said.

So why were some lined up for loan spells to then not be, then lined up again for same scenario to happen again? Some were deemed ‘first team ready’... ideal time to offer minutes was when we blew County & Livingston away in consecutive weeks - we introduced Robbie Crawford who couldn’t feature against his parent club the following week yet, that was lauded by some on here.

Disagree all you want on the youth take. Granted, Alexander will offer comment like he did as the development of youth would be a pre-requisite. Actions speak louder than words & I’ve been made aware that all is not as it’s made out to be. As simple as that.

    Lawless wasn’t featuring due injury.

I don’t know maybe they haven’t progressed enough or showed enough in training same as any other player who can’t get minutes? I couldn’t tell you but as said again I feel sorry them as it’s horrid year to be in there position, when they could be out getting minutes. At the moment there jersey fillers and from the start of the season under both management it’s been clear they haven’t made an impact on the first team, and looks likely that won’t change.

Alexander has been brought in to take us out the relegation zone and keep us up simple as that, is he going to throw in youngsters just to appease fans constant love of youth players getting played who may or may not be good enough, and have relegation from the SPFL on his CV I think not. As long as they are in and around the team all they can do is prove to the manager their better than what’s in front of them.

The reply to you was ‘OK. Pretty sure’. The reference to your knowledge of players contract was a general ideal that most statements you make have little substance no matter how many times you repeat yourself.

I’ve asked you before, leave the ITK part out. Never once claimed to be such. Information is usually sound & checks out by various before I offer anything, cryptic or not.

In reply to both yourself and KirkySuperSub... it’s called discretion. Source may well require protection - some  things are just best served not being made public.

In reply to both yourself and KirkySuperSub... it’s called discretion.

Story linked to old and new management.

Tad unbelievable? In what way? ‘Cause Alexander and his assistant have offered comment on our youth development?

Few people hopeful the window will be extended for lower league clubs, perhaps allowing those who’s development was deemed to be better served in and around our first team some opportunity for game time. Unprecedented times, no reserve football has meant many kicking their heels for a year in a crucial stage of development. There’s variables on that also like percentage of wage covered.

As for Accies yesterday, not that result is important - how did the midfield pairing of Foley & Hastie perform in the 1 nil defeat?

Before you start, fully aware it was correct to introduce our new signing. Another out injured...

I’ve said it many times I feel as though if the likes of Cornelius and Devine and the rest are to have a future at the club like many think they should need minutes here or elsewhere. I’ll admit I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Maguire the other night (my MOTM) not an amazing prospect but he’s decent. Back to the original point though I feel sorry for the youngsters as they are literally there to make up the numbers on match day and training with no minutes whatsoever, it’s a difficult year for them as theres no reserve team either and not enough players to have reserve games and a bounce game is very rare. So the best thing for them is a loan move to prove there worth as GA and the rest may not think they are ready or good enough.

I disagree with you though as I think you mean “when have you heard Alexander mention youth” but I recall in his very first interview he touches on it and he’ll be told that’s a requirement for our managerial position to bring through X amount of players in Y years.

You more than me as I didn’t even know the score or lineups etc just “fringe players”. Nothing about an injury either (as long as it’s not a keeper) so it’s hardly breaking discretion if it’s an injury so if you feel free to tell us then great. What I do know is Seedorf may not be here for much longer though.

  12. 23 minutes ago, Onthefringes said:

OK. Pretty sure. Like you knew for a fact contract details, that may or may not have been correct?

There is far more to the story. Get your source on to it.

What story? Enlighten me please. You had no response for me so you then go back to the contract details, and since you seem to be pretty much “ITK” then you’ll know Dunne’s contract is very much on reduced terms similar to Tanners last season... However the contract details is totally irrelevant to this so called “story” about management, it’s literally 2 new guys with 2 previous still there so it’s not a total overhaul, also Ross has managed most the players last 18 months or so.

Despite the fanfare, unlikely our development players will be called upon.

Well aware of current predicament & the need for experience before anybody starts. Introduction of our prospects has many variables - would help if the management knew the kids names or even conversed with them.

The vast majority of what’s left all train with the first team? I’m pretty sure they’ll know there names. Semple seemed to be the next big thing to come through and was hoping he’d do well at Cove this year but not quite happened for him. Kind of been shipped about positions as he was a striker and out wide then last year when Ross came in he started playing in the middle of the park.

    But it is....

In all seriousness I agree. Most of us can tell from previous posts who tends to be more reliable when it comes to the accuracy of club news. Then you have a handful of others that may have an in but certainly some try far too hard (get the pun).

Any news I produce is usually spot on ,this however is complete personal opinion and things I’ve heard regarding wages however my point still stands Dunne isn’t on anywhere near 1.2k a week and most fans will not that as it’s very much reduced terms the same as when Tanner is injured different story if he returns. Again Lamie and White came from teams very much below us in the pay scale and came as back up so not hard to work out.

  15. Put it this way the club aren’t going to offer Charles dunne who most likely at the time wasn’t anywhere near fit or ready to come back to even train, they aren’t going to be paying him 1.2k a week on a 6 month contract when they know his fitness/ injury rehab situation. And we aren’t paying 1k a week on a player who was on buttons at livi to come in as our backup and a striker who came in as backup from Inverness most likely not a great wage down in the championship.
