  1. I need to drink from the same cup as you - hadn't crossed my mind we'd be anywhere close to top 6. Hope St Mirren win convincingly
  2. Bowman put in effort but like weeyin said struggled at this level. 1 goal every 7 games.
  3. I don't see how Campbell is anything like Polworth. Campbell is more defensively minded who isn't very good at passing/linking play. In all honesty his strengths are Polworths weaknesses and vice a versa. If they were one player we'd have an absolute gem who could play at a much higher level. In reality I don't think Campbell is likely to go to any top tier club.
  4. completely agree about the 4 man midfield - which would include Lawless if fit. In reality Polworth could be decent in a 4 man midfield. What's not clear or well reported by the club is who's injured/why/expected return. Piss poor communication
  5. we have 10 first team defenders on our books - if we need O'Hara to drop in there's something far far wrong. Lamie, McGinley, Magloire, Nolan are all defenders. Maguire was initially a centre back til he found to be too slow and Foley was also considered to be a defender come midfielder. We need IMO to stop playing 3 midfielders who all want to sit centrally and defend. Want to see at least 4 through the middle which might mean Polworth but also likes of Temple/Foley/Lawless.
  6. before this block of 4 games I was hoping 9 points would be our reward. if we can beat both St J/St M we'll achieve it. There's something wrong with the mentality of our team - we don't have players who look that hungry. We get a few decent results and get very complacent v's an Accies team who won't almost every 2nd ball.
  7. Issue with all three of the midfield is their first option is to turn backwards to pass to a man - rarely do they make a forward pass and it gives the opposition far too much time to get into position. Polworth has many flaws but at least he's a forward thinking player
  8. I'm not a fan of the 4-3-3 - it invites teams to dominate against us and frankly Long is a waste of a shirt unless in the central position. 3 -5 -2 against most teams would be preference which can flip into a 5-3-2 when under pressure. Would also like to see a 4-4-2 in acton until we have a decent wide player.
  9. he looks decent in a poor team. Problem is all the midfield are defensively minded - holding midfield players
  10. some of the bookings are a bit on way - Hamilton get away with some really poor challenges
  11. pretty pissed off with S'OD - really lazy defending and deservedly got sent off
  12. credit to Cole today - worked his socks off all game
  13. pumped by bottom of the league - disgraceful
  14. utter pish - lack of basics right across the park
  15. we get out fought in midfield every game - we've ridden our luck recently but would like to reconsider the 3 man midfield
  16. 0 shots on target in a derby match says it all really
  17. good decision to get long off - get Ohara back in midfield.
  18. can't understand the value in having 3 up front - no point if we can't get up the park
  19. we can't play with 2 men in midfield - we need to change something
  20. This looks like our strongest team. Glad to see others need to work hard just to get back in.
  21. If we get 9 points from the games against Killie/Hamilton/StJonhstone/St Mirren we'll have done brillianty. Another 6 points from the next 3 games please and we'll be pushing towards the right side of the table
  22. it was like being savaged by a sheep - they just didn't look dangerous. Someone else mentioned last night it being very similar to us for the first 10 games of the season. Lots of possession but no bite. Much prefer us on the counter and looking dangerous - just wish we could pass the ball. Kelly was able to ping it about - wish more could follow his example
  23. we defended well as a team. Mugabi had a great performance. Went for Campbell as without him I don't believe we would have scored . His finish was spot on.
  24. Mugabi has improved significantly as the as the season has progressed - the more game time the better he has become. For me he lacks the guile to know where to be and get's caught in the wrong position/wrong side of the attacker - Im not sold he will be the solution long term but a decent squad player for sure. Lamie has improved but he too has many brain farts - I just don't see him being a first team regular.
  25. getting the 3 points from the game is good karma - hope the same happens against st Mirren who are due to have poor run.
