  1. Be interesting to see if we retain S'OD. Personal view if he stays is push him further up field. He's more effective moving forward than in defence. For Scotland last night was as lesson on how to play football, retain the ball and do the basics well. We were punished for lapses in concentration and not having the required quality in all areas of the park. Thankfully we have some very decent young guns coming through and the future looks brighter.
  2. only has 1 position that works - centre forward - will score goals . Works best when playing 2 up front. When rotated as part of a front 3 - didn't work.
  3. born in 1964 signed in 1986. From memory he lied about his age and said he was 19. Thankfully as he was only 3 feet tall Mclean believed him .
  4. Vardy had scored +70 goals in his previous 2 seasons. Had as signed anyone with this type of record I'd be jumping for joy. My general point is GA has signed 11 players . Other than S'OD + Shields it's not convincing that many who have signed will be automatic starters. A smaller squad of better quality was the promise. With Kelly, Gallagher, Campbell , Cole all leaving to date we have a smaller squad - there's a distinct lack of quality .
  5. Dougie was approaching 22 and yes plucked from Pollock and proved to be incredible. Some frogs turn to princes - not many though. I hope this lad proves to be a great player.
  6. completely with you. By the age of 24 if any good he'd have gone beyond non league. It's not shaping up brilliantly thus far. Connor Shields + SOD both get a big tick BUT pretty much every other signing since GA has arrived has been very Meh Fox ,Carrol, Mugabi, Crawford, Lawless, add to that Cornelious and Devine who if good enough would have been playing by now.
  7. A number of championship clubs must be watching thinking he's worth a punt. Wouldn't be surprised if someone came along and offered £1m+ to lure him away - probably the big move he was hoping for before arriving at FP.
  8. It was a big opportunity to Gallagher. Had he played well and continued to have game time I suspect he'd have played in the last 2 games. I've no idea if he was injured or not BUT it's irrelevant - either way his chance has slipped away.
  9. completely agree - for a Well player to represent their country and play that well. Well done sir. I do think he adds more value the further up the park he plays.
  10. Big man likes a signing on fee. Other than at Well think he's had a new club every season. Good luck to him, hard working player.
  11. There were several individual needless errors that could have caused us goals - we lack quality and could have conceded a few more had they been more ruthless. We worked hard but sadly that's not enough at this level.
  12. that would be a pretty decent signing - here's hoping
  13. Sad (yet accurate ) reflection of what we're competing against. Burton Albion a small town club with a tiny stadium and lower crowds that us can and will out punch us in salary.
  14. unfortunate choice of words here.
  15. more likely to move to Dundee where he had a good spell previously. Someone who did well in lower leagues but struggled with SPL teams - hopefully not someone we want to bring in.
  16. for a club who want a smaller squad some of our resignings have been uninspiring. (Fox, Carrol, Muguabi, Crawford - not sold any of these are auto picks for starting 11) Couple this with GA signing Lawless until end of 21/22 season. If these players weren't good enough to get a starting place last season we should let them go and look to replace with players who are likely to start.
  17. he was one of the laziest players I can ever remember in a Well Strip.
  18. he's simply not someone I warm to. very much the pantomime villain.
  19. Cole's goal scoring was much improved under GA. I don't think his all round game is that impressive- hence him playing for us. What I don't believe works is when players and their families don't want to be living in Scotland. Long was a good example of his family still being down South and he living up here. It didn't work.
  20. Randolph was superb for us. Ruddy, Carson, Kelly, Gillespie all good. Goram was a fat mess but still a damn good keeper and far better than Stevie Woods whom he replaced.
  21. good luck to him, a nice fella and when fit better than Lamie/McGInlay. That said with Lamie/McFinley/Carrol we really don't need another left sided defender.
  22. in the absence of creative midfielder be good to use wingbacks. Push S'OD further up and do the same on the left we might be ok, I'd also like to see Watt play behind the front pairing - he's an intelligent player , suspect he'd excel in this position,
  23. its important that we move forward. In the last 5-6 years our revenue has been incredible through selling players but none if it has been reinvested in the squad to help move us from the 10th biggest earners to the 9th, 8th etc. I get why we had to do this. Moving forward Id like to see progression , reinvest in the team and move us forward.
  24. Mout = A good guy Lafferty = not a good guy
