  1. Just reading about that but can’t seem to post a link
  2. I don’t think we own where we train but lease it - or we did a few years ago. I’m sure there was talk before Covid of building on the fields across from where we train now but I sceptical about that as in bad weather it’s always flooded.
  3. Wrong, even going back to when Alan Burrows was CEO there has been talk of getting our own training facilities rather than having to change at FP, bus the players up to Dalziel park for training then bus them back to change/do technical analysis etc.
  4. I suspect that a lot of the money will go on a new training facility as previous managers have said that what we use at the moment is inadequate and has made it difficult for us to sign some players
  5. Aye we’ve at least 4 friendlies before the first competitive game for some of our footballing geniuses to write him off.
  6. Correct, in my defence I wrote that last night while slightly drunk 🥴
  7. This management appointment is possibly the most important one post administration and I don’t envy the boards task. Ignoring the arse cheeks at least Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee and Dundee Utd will all out spend us this season on player purchase and wages leaving us - potentially (if money equates to a better position, which we all know doesn’t always happen but could) - fighting it out with St.Mirren, Killie, Falkirk and Livingston to avoid the bottom 2 spots. Although we will have money from LM’s transfer I don’t think we will see much of that being reinvested in players as long term projects like a training ground will eat into that. So that leaves us with two options, a hopefully safe option with someone who knows the Scottish game and can grind out another season in the top flight or another Wimmer type more risky option which hopefully lifts us to a higher level. Neither option is a stick on to succeed and could etch the boards names in Motherwell’s history as the board that got us relegated/took us to the Great Leap Forward - no pressure at all then.
  8. Don’t worry about it - everybody’s talkin’
  9. Was driving earlier and heard to bbc team talking after the game about Clarke and all of them said we should stick with him - ffs 4 wins in 21 games! Sack him now!
  10. Great, just waiting for the Scum exclusive saying Stevie Nicks is going to be the new manager
  11. StJ and Killie figures are lifted because for 3 games a season they give their stadium over to the OF hoards which we decided - correctly in my view- to stop doing.
  12. Similar to Wednesday night we didn’t start playing until the last 15 to 20 minutes
  13. I’m sure a lot of the Motherwell players know how to play silky free flowing football, unfortunately today their ability to do so is sorely lacking - what a shite game
  14. I’ve a feeling that we might get an offer or two for Slattery over the summer and if it’s enough then he will be away.
  15. On your first point I’d give three examples off the top of my head Jake Hastie - a one trick pony who done well out of his move to Rangers and wouldn’t have been a first team choice at may premier teams so his move was great for him. Robbie Leitch - left us for Burnley after scoring and making a goal in the youth cup final when coming on as a substitute to then disappear into the Scottish lower league’s. Bailey Rice - chose Rangers over us and the jury is still out on that move. one made the correct move the one didn’t and the third we will have to wait and see in my view. The club made money from one, nothing from one and we will see about the third.
  16. Agree with you in the most part but I think we should give it another week - if we’re still as bad let’s finish the league then
  17. I’m in Tenerife at the moment - Any feeds for the game?
  18. Hilariously I’m sure Gypsys, tramps and thieves was played at half time against Celtic once.
  19. Got to agree with you regarding the league, the closeness of the teams through 3-12 makes most teams play negative tactics most weeks to try and ensure staying up at the end of the season over attacking football trying for a win week in week out. On the subject of VAR I feel that yes it has a negative impact in that it holds the game up and hasn’t improved the inconsistency of referees but overall I feel that -mostly- the correct/incorrect decisions cancel each other out and as such it should be binned until we get better referees.
  20. I’m sure Wimmer said on Thursday that we had a squad of 18 signed players for next season, so if we go with a squad of 24 next season then I’d say we’re looking at 6 players coming in who are hopefully starters.
  21. Not sure if it came off the Dundee players outstretched arm when initially thrown into the box
  22. Win for us and Hearts to lose - would love to see the jambo fans suffer another relegation.
  23. I wonder if we will see a different type of game today as from memory in the other games Dundee were happy to sit back and wait for a chance and looked to be happy with a point but this time they need a win so could be more offensive minded leaving gaps that we could exploit.
