  1. I still don't know how we ended up in the T6 and Europe that season we were horrendous after Watt left. The fact we tried to build our defence around Rickie Lamie at a point in time is also concerning looking back on it.
  2. I might be in the minority but if we're getting offered upwards of 5M for Maswanhise come the summer get him on the first plane there he's a good player but at 23 he's still extremely raw and I highly doubt he'll replicate his numbers this season again anywhere else.
  3. I think it would be easier for them to buy into as they've seen what he's done with us they had a rough start under Ange but stuck with him because they could see the idea.
  4. I don't think he'll be short of options either way however what he hopefully has done is make our job more attractive. If he leaves us in Europe with a strong squad obviously a few of those players will be sold but the club will be in a healthy position moving forward and can hopefully attract a good level of candidate. You do wonder had Wimmer not resigned how different a position the club would be in as I felt the early signs were promising under him as well.
  5. I'd love him to stay a couple years and build Motherwell into a club that resembles Bodo Glimt I just think in reality he'll lose a few key players in the summer and we're not likely going to give him much of the money from the sales, he's got no real affinity to the club other than he seems to be enjoying it and from the sounds of it is on a couple of clubs radar. (Celtic and Copenhagen if rumours are to be believed.)
  6. I can imagine he would but given he's rarely spent longer than a year at a club in his managerial career, I imagine he'll not be sticking around long enough to da that here.
  7. He was likening us to Bodo Glimt on commentary v St Mirren I mean they are an excellently run football club so to be like them would be class.
  8. A all day long. When we look back on this season we'll be like that was some team but it should have won something Cite McCall teams when we were 2nd and 3rd in the league. When you measure a clubs success you base it on trophies. Option B as enjoyable as it is right now is not going to become our new normal we'll end up needing a full rebuild as the majority of our better players will move on (albeit for hefty fees this time round). The recruitment in the summer was superb you'd argue every player we signed has made a positive contribution to our season. That realistically is not going to be the case every year as we know very well. While St Mirren might be in a bit of a mess they'll have a day they can enjoy for the rest of their lives, the guys that won them that cup as poor as they may be at the moment become club legends and Robinson will probably go down as their best ever manager. As long as they finish in the play off they'll be in the league next season as the system favors the premiership side.
  9. So as is it stands we'd enter the conference league at QR2 and have to come through 3 qualifying rounds to make the group stage. I believe in only 1 of these rounds we would be seeded. If Jens fancies a crack at Europe with us then there's a real chance of progression but I'm not sure he will.
  10. happy days then I think it would be harsh to drop Slattery given he got what 2 or 3 assists in the last game.
  11. Realistically even looking ahead 9 of our last 11 games are against the T6. We've W3 D6 L3 against those teams so far I think for us to win the league we'd have to win 10 out the last 11 games and going of our record against those teams that doesn't look particularly likely hence the reason going out the cup was so gutting as that was our real chance for a trophy. Anyway team for Dundee Utd for me would be the same 1 that started the St Mirren game. It will be the last game of Fadinger's suspension so that's a positive.
  12. Is he not supposed to be in jail for beating his mrs?
  13. Beat county 5-1 away under Kettlewell and 5-0 away under Stevie Hammell
  14. Some laugh hammering them 5-0 in their own ground and a great response from the cup game. We were basically perfect tonight, what a team we have. That goal from Blorgolfsson was unreal basically the budget Ibrahimovic!
  15. I think this is what he'll go with. I don't know what to think of Slattery in the left sided midfield role he keeps playing him in he picks up some good areas but his pass selection baffles me at times. I kind of hope to see Nicholson get a run in that role but from the right side as I feel from the very limited amount we've seen of him he looks a very good player it's a shame he's been injured so much.
  16. Next season is the final season of Scotland having 5 in Europe it's the season after it drops to 4. Champions enter CL Play off round 2nd enters - CL QR2 3rd/Cup winners - EL QR3 4th/3RD if team outside Celtic/Rangers win the cup- EL QR2 5th/4th if team outside Celtic/Rangers win the cup - ECL QR2 Realistically the coefficent is gubbed because This season Celtic couldn't beat Kairat Almaty, Hibs didn't see out win v Legia, Rangers haven't been as good as they normally are in the EL. Aberdeen got a terrible draw in the ECL realistically should have beat Noah but it wouldn't have made much difference and Dundee Utd should have beat Rapid Vienna at a minimum after going 2-0 up. Hearts didn't beat petroclub to advance in conference league last season. Next season we realistically need every team that Qualify for Europe to make it into the group stage and then at least 3/5 to make into the KO rounds of their competitions. I think next season should us, Hearts and Hibs keep our squads together it will probably be the strongest group of teams we've had enter Europe for a while.
  17. Forgot professionals in every field get everything right and can't get anything wrong. I expect you'll never offer your opinion of what a manager/player/recruitment team you perceive to get wrong because they're in post.
  18. This I'd have Mcghee and SOD ahead of him in the pecking order but considering it's 1 game a week for us until the last week of the split now we shouldn't really need to rotate from the starting pairing of Welsh-Mcginn barring playing Celtic/injury
  19. Your points are all vaild and well made but the frustration comes from the feeling we are watching other clubs our size win things while we don't despite having some very good teams over the same period. If starting Xi had been Ward, Sparrow, SOD, Mcginn, Longelo, Preistman, Fadinger, Just, Slattery, RCC, Maswanhise, (That's what 3 changes from the side that actually started) and we'd went out I don't think there would have been the same level of discontent at the result. Even if it was Ward and SOD making the mistakes Connolly and Gordon made they'd have been easier to take as those players have been performing well for us this season. I think the point of nobody knowing if the team selection would have worked is also a bit silly considering we've played the same opponent 4 times already this season with a similar team each time and won 3 drew 1 before that and the team he selected caused the issue that saw us down to 10 after 3 mins.
  20. He couldn't have played him anywhere else he's to slow to be the WCB in that shape. If Jens stays I wouldn't expect Gordon to be at the club next season.
  21. I mean as far as I'm concerned his giveaway caused the red and then from that he doesn't save the resulting FK (I accept there's a deflection but there was literally only 1 side of the goal for Nisbet to aim for). He was Ok after that but the damage was done. Your not going to find anyone blaming Preistman as he was trying his best to get back and slipped it's unfortunate. Gordon also killed us just that 1 happened first and made it an uphill struggle.
  22. I've listened to the manager talk about load management doesn't mean I need to agree with him. Had he rotated the team on Sunday I wouldn't have been bothered in fact if you look at other posts that was what I had expected him to do. 'Questioning Connolly's involvement' obviously he quite literally had killed the game plan within a minute and a half I'm not seeing a load management argument there.
  23. I honestly don’t know straight reds normally carry over no matter the competition.
  24. We have 2 chances to win a trophy a season you play your strongest team in those games. If it's lower league opposition sure rest players. It's not knicker wetting to say this is our best team/manager since the McCall days and if your being kind Robinson's 17/18 team.
  25. if he's not suspended not opposed to him going in over Slattery/Just depending on who Jens wants to rest.
