I think if we lose Maswanhise at this point in the window we've not left ourselves enough time to replace him I think if it was going to happen he'd of been gone before the Scottish Cup game so providing we don't get a ridiculous bid put in for him or he pushes for a move i think he'll be here to the end of the season.

We've already got 3 CBs in Mcginn, Mcghee and Gordon as well as SOD who he keeps playing there I think we need to bring in 1 more CB and a LB before the end of the window provided we keep Maswanhise, Just etc and aren't scrambling to replace them as well. (I know we've said we're not selling our best players but if we get offered big money for any of them there will be conversations being had.) Hopefully Nicholson and Halliday are back fit and can provide some depth especially Nicholson as we have no real depth in the RW/10 area and Jens seems to be impressed by him from what he's saying in press confrences.

think based on previous seasons the team that finish 4th tend to end up anywhere from 50-55 points. We'll need probably 4 more wins in this round and a few draws as well as 1 or 2 wins post split.

With 5 games in 14 days on the way I'd expect some rotation against Livingston. Team for me would be Ward Sparrow Mcghee Mcginn Longelo Fadinger Preistman Maswanhise Just Said Stama Rest Slattery and SOD and get some more minutes into Bjorgolfsson before the busy period.

Probably some point during 2012/13. If Maswanhise stays the whole season he could end up at Higdon numbers for goals scored.

He was on the bench. I think with the way the game panned out he wasn't needed and it let us put 1 more of the youngsters on.

We started slow probably lucky to be 2 up at HT between the disallowed goal and the header of the bar but second half when they went down to 10 we used the ball really well and scored 2 more good goals. Bjorgolfsson reminds me a bit of Van Veen so hopefully he comes good in time.

I don't think that's the reality of what happened at the start of the season to be honest Rangers - A draw was probably fair but Sparrow should of won it for us at the end. St Mirren - Draw was a fair result Hearts - Should of won being 3-0 up at 60 mins. Ward had a mare and cost us 3 points Killie - Should of won 2-1 Ward dropped the ball and cost us the win there Dundee - Should of won by a couple of goals missed 2 1 on 1s and JK switched off at the back post for their goal. Celtic - Again should of taken something. Ward gave the ball to Nygren to draw them level and if that hadn't happened we'd of picked up at least a draw. The majority of the points dropped early on where from Goalkeeping errors which to be fair to him Ward has since eradicated

I'd be wanting 2 more in we need a CB at the minimum and I think we need a LB as well so hopefully both happen and we finish the season as strong as we started it.

The quicker we get shot of Halliday the better if I was a manager I would not be wanting my players sat actively celebrating other teams in our leagues goals don't care wither they are a fan or not and slating other teams players on their podcast. Now he's talking valuations of his own teams best players. It's a shame cos he seems like a good guy around the dressing room but his social media stuff draws unnecessary headlines for the club.

I think he might of actually in the early league cup group stages last season either way he's barley featured so it's hard to form an opinion on by all accounts seemed to do well on his loan at Morton last season so must have some ability.

I agree with Wilson needing moved on he tries his best but he's probably not premiership level with the other 2 I don't think Stuparevic has played a game for Motherwell so it's hard to know what his level actually is and Robinson I think by all accounts isn't due back till March so he'll be here the rest of the season at a minimum.

2 keepers is always fine to me Connolly looked decent enough against County and worst comes to worse we bring a keeper in on a short term deal to see us through the season.

If you look at our squad we have something like 25 senior players + 2 out on loan as much as we want new signings I can only really see 1/2 more coming in. GK - Ward/Oxborough/Connolly - probably need to shift Oxborough RB - SOD/JK/Sparrow - Fine all utility players who can cover other pos CB - McGinn/Mcghee/Gordon - Need 1 more in that area and we will be paying a portion of Balmer's wage. LB - Longelo - Need 1 more in that area as cover/competition and let Wilson get minutes at Raith CM - Watt/Preistman/Fadinger/Slattery/Halliday - Probably enough depth might need 1 if Halliday goes. RW - Maswanhise/Just/Nicholson - Enough options with all 3 able to play other pos need 1 if Maswanhise goes. LW - Said/RCC - Fine ST - Bjorgolfsson/Stama/Hendry/Robinson/Stuperavic - Probably need to shift 1 or 2 If you take injured players out of that and the loans we have 20 available

We're not going to pay 400K for Welsh he'll head down South or to Hearts/Hibs in the summer if I was to guess.

Well there's 2 done from that list hopefully the big man is ready to go straight in given he was in the stand Saturday I'd assume he's probably had a few sessions with the team and done some fitness work himself in the off season to keep himself fit. We've let 2 CBs go out so I'd expect us to replace 1 even if that's just Welsh coming back to make that pool back up to 4, for me SOD is a RB he can play CB but I wouldn't be advocating him starting there. If you look across the squad we have near enough 2 players per position which is what we need to be able to compete and i suspect what Jens wants as that drives competition.

Hopefully the recent cases remain true then the next 3 games are against the sides at the bottom it's a great chance to build momentum heading into the cup game and if we manage to pick up 9 points we'd be well on our way to a European tour come July/August time.

Playing a team that's not won in 16 i'm slightly concerned given our history against teams in that sort of form. Team for me would be Ward (Where was he Sat anyone know) SOD Mcginn Gordon Longelo Fadinger Preistman Maswanhise Slattery Just Bjorgolfsson (If he's signed in time if not Stama) I suspect this will be similar to the Ross County game where we're trying to break down a low block for the majority of the game. They've got some better players than Ross County so it will be a tough game. Hopefully we get the win and start to build some more momentum going into a busy and season defining February.

As I said above I'm fine with him coming back he's been really good for us I just think given the fact we won't get him permanent and he can't play in the cup surely we try and sign a CB that will be our player permanently and be here next season.

I don't think we need 2 Cbs if Mcghee is back fit he's a solid player and replaces Balmer. I wouldn't say no to Welsh coming back but now he's cup tied it restricts the games he can be used in even further. We have minimum 17 games left and he's unavailable for selection for 3 (providing we finish T6) before returning and any cup games should we progress. Our priorities rest of the window should be:- - Sign a ST (Bjorgolfsson is basically a done deal assuming we're waiting on a work permit before announcing) - Sign a CB (Wither that be a Welsh return or a New CB) - Sign a LB (Longelo needs competition he's been poor since Aberdeen (A) in the QF of the premier IMO needs someone to push him) - Sign a 10 we need an attacking midfielder to open up the low blocks ideally someone of the Spittal mould who can play a pass and shoot from range. - Line up a Maswanhise replacement if the bid we can't refuse comes we need to be prepared and have his replacement lined up. - If we're being greedy we could do with another CM (Halliday and Watt both being out is going to put strain on Slattery, Preistman and Fadinger) so another player in that area wouldn't go a miss unless he has enough trust in Mcallister to play minutes over the run where we have 5 games in 2 weeks or chucks Sparrow in midfield which he's not done all season. - Loan out Luca Ross sitting on our bench most weeks probably isn't helping his development maybe use the co-op agreement with Stenhousemuir and get him some game time that way he can still be used if needed. - Make a decision on Nicholson, Stuperavic and Robinson and Halliday if they're going to play a role keep them if not loan them out/mutual agreement. - Finally once the big Norweigan is announced send Osong back up the road no point him being sat on our bench when he's having little to no impact.

Is there a point in bringing Welsh back it's not his fault but he's now cup tied were realistically not going to win the league so surely we bring in a CB that can play in the only competition we can potentially win.

If Birmingham come in with an opening bid of 4.2M we'll push them to 5 I'd think. I love Maswanhise as much as the next person but we're not turning down a 5M pound offer for a player we got for free 18 months ago.

I'd of rathered Hearts got through tbh and got 1 of the OF at home as I reckon they'd of put them out. Your main hopes for 1 of them 2 going out now are draws for them away at Falkirk and St Mirren.

I'd love Bannan to come to Motherwell but it makes no sense for him at all. Top Championship clubs want him and he'd need to take a massive pay cut, so unless it's family reasons I can't see it.

I was this poster and still am of the opinion prior to Michael Wimmer becoming Motherwell manager Slattery for the most part was pish.
