  1. Personally I'd go with this Ox SOD Balmer Casey Kaleta Sparrow Halliday Miller Seddon Robinson Ebiye Rests a couple of players for the Semi and allows others to build sharpness. That line-up also gives us a box presence which we've been missing for most of the season. Alternativley you play 343 and bring in Maswanhise and Taveres and drop Robinson and Halliday/Sparrow
  2. This is how I would set us up against Celtic. We need pace to exploit the space they leave in behind and I feel Stam is the best at bringing those around him into play out of our Strikers (Argument for Watt) 5-4-1 Ox SOD-Balmer-Gordon-Casey-Wilson Taveres-Miller-Halliday-Maswanhise Stam
  3. I don't want to be overly reactionary but our midfield is not going to get us in the t6. Lennon as good as he is still learning. We got ran all over yesterday in there, We've needed a holding midfield player for years last time we had one was Liam Donnelly and he's been gone a good couple years now.
  4. My team v Dundee this weekend would be Ox Mcginn Gordon Balmer SOD Miller Davor Halliday Wilson Stam Moses Got to make sure we win the battle in midfield or they'll run all over us.
  5. I wanted him in for Kelly around October time when Kelly wasn't playing well but he was never going to drop the captain unless he was injured
  6. He will have bad games that's fine it happens what I see different about him is he is taking pressure off the defence by coming for crosses and in general just a lot more calm than Kelly looked. Just look far more settled in that area than we did last season.
  7. Oxborough new contract is brilliant news best GK we've had in years
  8. I feel we should be getting 70 out of him his work rate is brilliant and keeps hold of the ball well while providing a threat in behind and in the air
  9. Team v St Mirren for me would be Oxborough Mcginn Gordon Casey Kaleta Davor Miller Wilson Watt Robinson Maswanhise Would love to start Moses but we don't have a good 10 to allow us to play a 2 up front imo
  10. Oxborough has been a real breath of fresh air mental we've had him sitting on the bench for 2 seasons just him coming for crosses releives so much pressure on the defence.
  11. Team v Dundee United for me should be Oxborough Balmer Gordon Casey SOD Davor Miller Wilson Watt Moses Maswanhise
  12. That's what I thought he would of added we've needed a holding midfielder for years. On the game we've started to use the ball a lot better than we did at points last season and our set-peices look particularly dangerous
  13. Very good performance my only concern is he keeps playing Lennon Miller off the right put him in the middle in place of Halliday/Davor and we've got a good side there. Wilson was very good blocked 2 certain goals. Sod was absolutley brilliant as well
  14. With no signings coming in as of yet my 11 v Hearts would be Ox SOD Mcginn Gordon Balmer Wilson Miller Davor Watt Robinson Maswanhise
  15. I can't really understand going for Vale or Kouassi to be honest I'd strengthen 3/4 different positions before St. Desperatley need a creative midfield player and Ideally one to hold next to Lennon. I'd be trying to get a Rwb in on loan until at least January ideally of the mould of Spencer when we had him.
  16. If you look at it like this. Hegyi- Gk Koutrumbis- RWB/CB ,Kaleta- RWB, Balmer- CB, Gordon- CB, Seddon-LWB Callahan-Cm, Slattery- CM, Sparrow- Cm, Nicholson - AM/Winger, Halliday- CM/LWB Stuparevic- ST, Watt- St/Wide, Stamatelopulos- St, Maswanhise- St/Winger Robinson - ST/Winger We have 6 Strikers at the club, (4 Fit) and playing with 1 upfront with Lennon Miller and Ewan Wilson either side of them then wondering why we aren't scoring as many as last season. Our business over the summer shows a plan to play in a 352/343 Imo but that's not been what's happened at all.
  17. Apparently Ryan Jack is going to be signing for us from what I heard. (Take with a pinch of salt). If so I'm not massively keen but if he stays fit obviously a great player concerned with his injury record and the way our squad is currently looking. New boy looks very good. Reckon that will be us done business wise if Jack comes in as squad will be huge for a club of our size.
  18. I forgot Halliday existed tbf, Wells will get loaned out in my humble opinion
  19. This is the squad currently. Oxborough/Hegyi Mcginn/Koutrumbis Gordon/Balmer Blaney/Casey SOD/Kaleta Davor/Miller/Halliday Callahan/Slattery/Sparrow Wilson/Seddon Paton/Nicholson Moses/Robinson Stuparevic/Watt/Stamatelopolous Imo that's weak at RWb, Holding Midfield, and attacking midfield. That's a Kelltlewell/Recruitment team issue can't say they've not been backed as they've been allowed to bring in 13 of their own players.
  20. Feels a reel risk not to be strengthining that area of the Pitch to me. SOD is a good back up but feel he lacks the pace for the role. Kaleta looked lost when he came on v Partick and the aussie boy hasnt been seen in a well shirt so I'll reserve judgement. At present the 2 areas I mentioned are our 2 weakest in my opinion and need reinforced. Could do with a holding midfielder aswell if we're being extremley wishful.
  21. I don't mind the signing of Watt but can't help but feel we need a creative midfielder aswell as a Rwb bwfore I would be looking at another St
  22. From what I've seen of Kaleta he looked like more a defensive wing-back which is not what you need in the system we are currently playing. Seddon looks not too bad tbf so a Lwb maybe not as big a priority as a RWB for me.
  23. We need another couple of players in either way. We're lacking a holding midfielder and a more creative one. Could probably do with a Wing-back either side as well with a bit of pace about them if we're not going to play with wingers. Personally I'd be signing 2 wingers to give us some flexibility and the option of a change of shape. Mckinstry is available thought he was good in his last spell for us before we changed formation. Squad was poorly built wither folk like it or not we've signed players who I'm struggling to see how they'll get minutes when others come back. The shape in my opinion is all wrong but we'll see what we can do and hope we've got enough in the squad plus whoever else comes in to keep us up.
  24. Might be jumping the gun but signing Sparrow seems to have been pointless considering he's probably 7th choice in Cm. That area is bloated and full of very average players. Callahan, Halliday, Sparrow, Davor none of which your desperate to see start. I'm not Patons biggest fan but i at least see what he offers in terms of his ball-carrying ability. Lennon obviously starts and they clearly are looking at bringing through Dylan Wells this season. Add in Nicholson and Slattery when they're back their's 8 players ahead of him. Anyone know when Slattery is due back feel like he's not really been mentioned in the press confrences.
