Anyways My team v Hibs would be Ward SOD McGinn Welsh Sparrow Watt Fadinger Maswanhise Slattery Just Bjorgolfsson Said needs dropped he's been poor last few games I'd of dropped Sparrow as well but he's played LB the most of the players available so he needs to play.

I'm going to enjoy the football on show for the rest of the season but I fully expect for the manager and the squad to get picked apart in the summer. Slattery is OOC. Welsh goes back to Celtic. Maswanhise will be sold. Just and Watt will have suitors and I'm doubtful we'll be blocking moves for them given we market ourselves as a place where you can earn a move. I suspect we'll be another new look Motherwell team next season and we'll have to wait and see how it goes.
-
I don't think we'll get the opportunity to build our gaffer will be off and unless your giving the job to his rookie assistant manager there's not going to be much continuity. Your also going to have to trust the recruitment to get it spot on again to replace Maswanhise, Slattery, Welsh etc which we all know at clubs our size is hit and miss. I'm not trying to be negative that's just the reality of clubs like ourselves. I have enjoyed this season but can't help but feel it's an opportunity to win something that's been passed up again. The only 2 other recent-ish seasons i've felt similar was the McCall 12/13 team and the Robinson 17/18 team.

Hearts have beat both the OF twice and sit top of the league. They're going to lose games their not a Celtic or Rangers type machine their in unknown territory to them and have been top of the league for the best part of 6 months. I also don't see how any other teams mentality is relevant to what I said. We haven't won any games with pressure on us this season. Went out both cups to teams we're unbeaten against in the league and when the media started talking about a title challenge we've lost the 2 games since. I like watching us under JBA but as far as I'm concerned our seasons basically been over since we went out the cup. I'd like to get into Europe but I'm also wary we'll most likely be without our manager and multiple key players (Maswanhise, Slattery, Welsh at a minimum) and probably Just as well. So bringing in a new manager and half a starting 11 doesn't fill me with confidence.

Hearts, Celtic, St Mirren (This season) you can argue Rangers. Before you tell me St Mirren are staring at a play-off I'd have their season over ours 100 times out of 100.
-
We do not have a big game mentality. Bottled a 3-0 lead at Tynecastle, got hammered of a poor St Mirren team in the LC semi final. Haven't beaten a team in the top 9 away from home in the league. (We did beat Aberdeen in the LC QF). Lost to an Aberdeen side with an Interim manager in the Scottish Cup. The minute we got spoken about as potential title contenders we've been beaten of Dundee and Celtic. We've had some good wins at home but we're going to look back on the season as another opportunity missed to put a trophy in the cabinet.
-
This is a must win for me now. We've been brilliant at home this season and put ourselves in a good place to get into Europe, a win here makes it a 9 point gap with 7 to play and opens up a nice cushion going into a very difficult last 7 games. I think we're going to have to get to 63 points to secure us 4th and that means realistically we're looking at winning our home games v Hibs and Falkirk and then collecting 4 points from Hearts (H&A), Celtic (H), Rangers (A), Falkirk (A), Hibs (A).

Next season is Scotland's last with 5 teams. Champions - CL P/O Round 2nd Place - CL QR2 3rd place/cup winner - EL QR3 4th place/3rd if cup winner isn't Celtic - Confrence League QR2 5th place/ 4th if cup winner isn't Celtic - Confrence League QR2

I don't understand how that can be anyone other than Sparrow's fault he either clears the ball or puts enough pace on the pass to SOD for him to clear it. Either way it was another avoidable goal we've conceded.
-
That's what I'm thinking Mcghee is here next season so needs to be given a run to see if he's going to be a potential first choice. I'd play Welsh until we secure 4th as he is comfortably our best CB.
-
Said did not cause that goal. Sparrow has to clear the ball down the line. 2nd goal is tragic from Longelo but why is he even picking up Maeda in the first place. 3rd goal is fresh out of Sunday league literally a punt down the park and he's clean through. Win the next 2 games and we're in a decent position to come 4th. Would probably leave us needing maybe 4 points from the other 6 games.
-
Oh well is what it is win the next 2 games and get 4th wrapped up and start building for next season.
-
I like Maswanhise he's a good player for us but as I said in January that was his peak valuation while our player and I'd have punted him then.
-
Bit late on the Robinson front but hope that is the nail in the coffin for St Mirren and they end up going down would be good for them to get stuck in the championship for a few seasons so I don't need to see their fanbase crying on Twitter every other week, Wouldn't mind any of the 4 teams in the Play-off race up. Probably would rather it be Arbroath as I'd be confident of no matter who we lose that we'd finish above them.
-
We have to beat Hibs and Falkirk at Home and that will secure 4th from that point if we pick up another 4 points from the other 7 games we'll be 4th on 63 points I doubt Hibs or Falkirk will get to that tally.
-
100% will. Sydney have an option to buy in the loan allegedly so hopefully he starts smashing in goals and they buy him.
-
If we can get 4-5M for Maswanhise in the summer and that lets us keep hold of the rest of the team I'd be buzzing. The problem also is though that we market ourselves to players by telling them we'll put them in the shop window so if we start turning down bids for the likes of Just, Watt etc then we'll be left with unhappy players and most likely a new manager having to pick up the peices. Hopefully Sydney or someone else make an offer for Stama and we can shift him off the wage bill as well.

I think moving ground is only a matter of time the POD and John Hunter stands both need major renovation which can't happen due to things in the surrounding area that being said the cost of a new stadium while up keeping FP until it's ready would be a massive outlay I'm not sure the club can afford w/o massive player sales or us doing the unthinkable and winning the league/ending up in the CL group stages and using the £30M that brings to fund it. The talk since we sold David Turnbull for a club record fee is that we'd look to build a new training facility so I'm assuming there has been some form of groundwork done on that and could come to fruition in a few years time where that might be though I have no idea. The point about local business is fair but should we move that will likely create new businesses in that area.
-
Was the talk at the AGM not that Jens was on a rolling 1 year deal. On Olly Whyte you'd expect he'd be offered a new deal with a view of getting him involved next season. I think also as we have a co-op agreement with Stenhousemuir should the last few games end up with little meaning he'll probably play some minutes.
-
We never really had to get out of 2nd gear and won today. This season is literally a case of what could have been. We got hammered in the LC SF by St Mirren if we'd won that you'd have felt we can go win the cup. If Preistman doesn't get sent off inside 2 mins at Aberdeen and Gordon isn't sent off for a foul on the halfway line you'd have fancied us to progress in the cup. Then if Callum Ward had had a better start to the season we'd be right in and about a title race. (Hearts 3-3 should have saved 2 of the goals, playing the ball straight to Nygren to make it 2-2 at Celtic Park, Dropping the ball against Killie for their equaliser). We'd have been a couple of points better off and right in the hunt as well as taking points of the other teams. However a positive to finish off to have kept 21 CS this season is exceptional stuff to think their were seasons in recent years where we had 3 or 4 the entire season the change has been brilliant.
-
I suppose the weird thing about this summer is we could be JBA, Just, Maswanhise down but the club could be the best part of £10M up of the back of 1 good season.
-
I still don't know how we ended up in the T6 and Europe that season we were horrendous after Watt left. The fact we tried to build our defence around Rickie Lamie at a point in time is also concerning looking back on it.
-
I might be in the minority but if we're getting offered upwards of 5M for Maswanhise come the summer get him on the first plane there he's a good player but at 23 he's still extremely raw and I highly doubt he'll replicate his numbers this season again anywhere else.
-
I think it would be easier for them to buy into as they've seen what he's done with us they had a rough start under Ange but stuck with him because they could see the idea.
-
I don't think he'll be short of options either way however what he hopefully has done is make our job more attractive. If he leaves us in Europe with a strong squad obviously a few of those players will be sold but the club will be in a healthy position moving forward and can hopefully attract a good level of candidate. You do wonder had Wimmer not resigned how different a position the club would be in as I felt the early signs were promising under him as well.
