Is McGrath's red a 3 game suspension because it was a poor challenge he got the straight red for? If Hibs beat us to 4th without their best player and while having to play Falkirk and Rangers away and then beat us they very much deserve it.
-
To be fair I can't imagine any player is particularly motivated while playing for 4th and being out the cups. Falkirk are desperate to get into Europe and quite clearly wanted it more than us. I think unless Hibs beat one of the OF they won't pick up the 7 points they need to overtake us.
-
I'm in the same boat as long as Celtic beat Hibs we should be fine for 4th but I don't see us winning any of the final 3 games. We might draw 1 but we looked on the beach.
-
Unless JBA ends up at Celtic he could potentially end up there. The only team other than them that might take a look is Hearts.
-
Think it's probably the right time to move on, he's a good player and been a good servant for us and I assume will end up bottom half championship or at a promotion chasing league 1 side.
-
Guess we can just make it annual win. We were poor second half but who cares hopefully Hearts do us a favor and we can get the passports out.
-
I look forward to our annual 2-1 win at Ibrox. Team for me should be : Ward SOD McGinn Welsh Longelo Watt Fadinger Just Slattery Said Maswanhise
-
Why if he was worth that in January he's worth that now. Hibs probably didn't think they were getting 6m for Bowie. Aberdeen got 6M for Miovski and 4M for Ramsey. We can get 4-5M for Maswanhise. He's 23, plays for his National team, scored 17 in the league. We need to get proper value for our players.
-
Glad too see we're not over reacting to Maswanhise's dip in form. I did say I would have sold in January as that was where he was going to peak valuation wise.As I've already said if Hibs are getting 6m for Bowie who had scored 8 goals we have to at least get 4-5M for a guy who's on 17 league goals and 22 in all comps.
-
The midfield signing I'd most like to see us make is Bailey Rice. He's OOC at Rangers, our former academy player and when he was coming through was thought of as a better player than Miller. He's also 6'0 so would add some physicality to the side which is something we are currently lacking and if platformed correctly has the potential re-sale value the club would be looking for.
-
Alex Gorrin was in that mould. He was a dead cert for a yellow most games from smashing somebody but really tidy with the ball.
-
I've not seen loads of either I've just thought both GK's have been decent in the games I've seen them in. I'd imagine both Gk's passing accuracy would improve in our side. Ox last season was a decent keeper for us before his injury and if Ward was to leave I'd be comfortable enough with Ox starting for us again. Might be harsh but Connolly is not for me at all. Too small and that performance against Aberdeen left a lot to be desired.
-
I've only watched him a few times but he's been good most of those times he's earned Dundee 4 points against us by making some big saves in the games, made a few decent saves in the derby game I watched and the game they beat Celtic. He's also young and Scottish so we could make some money from him if we can platform in a way he takes 1 of the back-up keeper slots in the National Team.
-
I think if a bid came in the 1.5M range he'd be off. He's been good for us but I feel he always has a mistake in him. If he is off I'd be having a look at Prior from Livi or McCracken at Dundee who's OOC. Oxborough also was a solid enough keeper for us when he was starting last season so I wouldn't mind him getting another go.
-
If St Johnstone want Hendry I wouldn't stand in his way, can see Liam Gordon going there as well to be honest. This summer we are probably going to have a rebuild on our hands again with the amount leaving on frees or players who may be sold. At the moment we should be signing : - 2 x New CB (Welsh goes back to Celtic, Gordon and Balmer OOC) - 1 x LB (Longelo needs competition and Wilson is probably not Premiership level) - 1/2 CM (Need 1/2 CM Watt may leave and Whyte may not sign a new deal). - 2 AMF (If Just leaves and Slattery doesn't sign a new deal) - 1 RW - 1 LW -2 x ST (If Hendry and Maswanhise leave) Players Leaving : Slattery, Gordon, Balmer, Nicholson, Robinson, Halliday - Contract Expiry Oxborough, Wilson - Loaned out/Released Stama, Maswanhise, Just, Watt, Hendry - Potentially sold. Welsh - Returns to Celtic.
-
I've maintained all season that Just is the 1 we'll struggle to replace most in the playing squad he's our best player and one of the best I've watched live at Fir Park. I like Watt and TJ but they will be easier to replace than Just. I'd also quite happily sell Watt at anything over 2/2.5M should an offer like that come in even if we'd already lost the other 2.
-
I think we've spoke enough about who could leave, I had a look through the OOC contract list from other teams in the league and the championship a couple of players I'd like us to look at. GK - McCracken (If Ward leaves) CB - Mayo, Astley, Chilokoa-Mullen LB - Tanser CM - Rice, Stanway, Watson, D. Tait, McMaster St - Mandron, Muirhead, John - Jules
-
I think Olly Whyte will sign a new 1 year deal and will be around the first team. Maswanhise is going to be sold realistically and I don't see us turning down offers of £3M for Just which he could very easlily attract given his form.
-
The base of our squad for next season is: GK - Ward, Connolly Def - SOD, Sparrow, JK, McGinn, McGhee, Longelo CM - Watt, Preistman, Fadinger, Whyte RW - Said, Ross LW - RCC St - Bjorgolfsson, Hendry If we can get RCC anywhere near the player he was at County he'd be one of the best wide players in the division. That leaves us needing :- - 2 CBS, LB, 2 AMF, LW, St (Play across front 3 type)
-
Hibs got 6.5M for Bowie who was on 8 League goals and is the same age as Maswanhise. I think we need to cash in but only at 4.5-5M territory. He's on 17 league goals and that figure to clubs in Europe's T5 leagues and even the Championship is not even a dent in their budget.
-
If Jens is still here next season we have to become a more physically imposing side it's all well and good having the ball but we're hamstrung at dead balls from having no real height or pace in the team. We've massively been found out in recent games we're getting slaughtered in transitions and can't unpick the low blocks. Hopefully we finish 4th and get into Europe and can move onto next season. Only positive from today is there is a genuine chance Aberdeen end up in a play off.
-
That ball Ward's playing into Watt is what JBA wants to bounce out the press. Falkirk are man for man in midfield and winning that battle our only hope of winning this game is scoring early second half and Tait gassing out so we have more time in the build.
-
It would only have been a yellow it's a genuine attempt to play the ball.
-
Maswanhise's first touch is so bad for him to get better that has to improve ball bounces away from him all the time. I thought Said has been ok he's at least tried to be positive with the ball. We've not really got anything on the bench to change it as well could bring Nicholson on for Sparrow but not sure how much of an impact that will have.
-
Our passing is so negative that goal McGinn has to play forward when he's out from there Watt makes an absolute arse of it but he shouldn't be getting the ball there.
