  1. I'm very aware the Winger is unlikely. Levitt would be a Watt replacement he's a deep lying playmaker. The CB and LB are the priorities either way.
  2. Levitt was unreal at Dundee Utd when he first went there can't say I've seen much of him at Hibs but he's certainly a decent player. I suspect we'll only bring in a CB between now and the end of the window tho. I'd like us to get a Lb in as playing JK LB is not a long term solution in that position and JBA seems to have gone right of Longelo. I feel he's been playing injured for months as he doesn't look like he's moving as fluidly as when he first came. In terms of outgoings we could maybe get rid of Robinson but I don't know if he's even fit and we tend to rehab guys before we cut them loose. We could probably do with a winger until RCC is back but i doubt many will be looking to come sit on the bench at M'well for 6 months.
  3. Last season was probably 6-7M but Miller was most of that. Only other players we could of got money for was probably Slattery and Sparrow purley of the fact they'd both scored 6/7 goals from WB or Cm
  4. I agree Just is our best player and would be the most difficult to replace. I feel as good as Maswanhise is we can get a similar sort of player to replace him (with a bit less effectivness). Just however is so complete for our level said a few times if the boy could shoot he'd be playing in Europe's top 5 leagues.
  5. I think realistically the squad we have now could fetch fees of around 10M combined with the 5M from Lennon that sets the club up for a very long time. Maswanhise - 4-5M Just - 2-3M Watt - 2-3M Longelo - 1-2M Fadinger - 1-2 M Said - 1M To have 6 assets who could fetch those sorts of fees at one time is outstanding from the recruitment team. I'm resigned to losing Maswanhise in the summer but hopefully we can keep the rest for at least another season or 2.
  6. No I agree with your point he's done really well this season with the recruitment. The main ones I'd be giving Daws his credit for are Preistman and Longelo who were defenitley recruitment team signing as I highly doubt Jens was watching the Australian League or Cambridge last season. The new ST is also a recruitment team recommendation so we'll see how he turns out but he looked decent on Saturday.
  7. Both Maswanhise and Watt were offered to the club by their agents. Watt said as much in an interview a few months ago and Halliday said on his podcast Maswanhise had been offered to us by his agent on the Saturday the season started so we arranged a friendly with Everton on the Tuesday in which we lost 6-0 but he impressed and we signed him the next week. To give Daws his due however our recruitment has been very good this season in which he will have played a part so does deserve praise.
  8. I feel the same he's a good player but there's parts to his game I look at and wonder how replicable his form will be. If we could get 5-6M for him I think that's probably his ceiling in terms of transfer value.
  9. That make sense we've got the opportunity to finish the season really strong and potentially even win a cup.
  10. I think if we lose Maswanhise at this point in the window we've not left ourselves enough time to replace him I think if it was going to happen he'd of been gone before the Scottish Cup game so providing we don't get a ridiculous bid put in for him or he pushes for a move i think he'll be here to the end of the season.
  11. We've already got 3 CBs in Mcginn, Mcghee and Gordon as well as SOD who he keeps playing there I think we need to bring in 1 more CB and a LB before the end of the window provided we keep Maswanhise, Just etc and aren't scrambling to replace them as well. (I know we've said we're not selling our best players but if we get offered big money for any of them there will be conversations being had.) Hopefully Nicholson and Halliday are back fit and can provide some depth especially Nicholson as we have no real depth in the RW/10 area and Jens seems to be impressed by him from what he's saying in press confrences.
  12. think based on previous seasons the team that finish 4th tend to end up anywhere from 50-55 points. We'll need probably 4 more wins in this round and a few draws as well as 1 or 2 wins post split.
  13. With 5 games in 14 days on the way I'd expect some rotation against Livingston. Team for me would be Ward Sparrow Mcghee Mcginn Longelo Fadinger Preistman Maswanhise Just Said Stama Rest Slattery and SOD and get some more minutes into Bjorgolfsson before the busy period.
  14. Probably some point during 2012/13. If Maswanhise stays the whole season he could end up at Higdon numbers for goals scored.
  15. He was on the bench. I think with the way the game panned out he wasn't needed and it let us put 1 more of the youngsters on.
  16. We started slow probably lucky to be 2 up at HT between the disallowed goal and the header of the bar but second half when they went down to 10 we used the ball really well and scored 2 more good goals. Bjorgolfsson reminds me a bit of Van Veen so hopefully he comes good in time.
  17. I don't think that's the reality of what happened at the start of the season to be honest Rangers - A draw was probably fair but Sparrow should of won it for us at the end. St Mirren - Draw was a fair result Hearts - Should of won being 3-0 up at 60 mins. Ward had a mare and cost us 3 points Killie - Should of won 2-1 Ward dropped the ball and cost us the win there Dundee - Should of won by a couple of goals missed 2 1 on 1s and JK switched off at the back post for their goal. Celtic - Again should of taken something. Ward gave the ball to Nygren to draw them level and if that hadn't happened we'd of picked up at least a draw. The majority of the points dropped early on where from Goalkeeping errors which to be fair to him Ward has since eradicated
  18. I'd be wanting 2 more in we need a CB at the minimum and I think we need a LB as well so hopefully both happen and we finish the season as strong as we started it.
  19. The quicker we get shot of Halliday the better if I was a manager I would not be wanting my players sat actively celebrating other teams in our leagues goals don't care wither they are a fan or not and slating other teams players on their podcast. Now he's talking valuations of his own teams best players. It's a shame cos he seems like a good guy around the dressing room but his social media stuff draws unnecessary headlines for the club.
  20. I think he might of actually in the early league cup group stages last season either way he's barley featured so it's hard to form an opinion on by all accounts seemed to do well on his loan at Morton last season so must have some ability.
  21. I agree with Wilson needing moved on he tries his best but he's probably not premiership level with the other 2 I don't think Stuparevic has played a game for Motherwell so it's hard to know what his level actually is and Robinson I think by all accounts isn't due back till March so he'll be here the rest of the season at a minimum.
  22. 2 keepers is always fine to me Connolly looked decent enough against County and worst comes to worse we bring a keeper in on a short term deal to see us through the season.
  23. If you look at our squad we have something like 25 senior players + 2 out on loan as much as we want new signings I can only really see 1/2 more coming in. GK - Ward/Oxborough/Connolly - probably need to shift Oxborough RB - SOD/JK/Sparrow - Fine all utility players who can cover other pos CB - McGinn/Mcghee/Gordon - Need 1 more in that area and we will be paying a portion of Balmer's wage. LB - Longelo - Need 1 more in that area as cover/competition and let Wilson get minutes at Raith CM - Watt/Preistman/Fadinger/Slattery/Halliday - Probably enough depth might need 1 if Halliday goes. RW - Maswanhise/Just/Nicholson - Enough options with all 3 able to play other pos need 1 if Maswanhise goes. LW - Said/RCC - Fine ST - Bjorgolfsson/Stama/Hendry/Robinson/Stuperavic - Probably need to shift 1 or 2 If you take injured players out of that and the loans we have 20 available
  24. We're not going to pay 400K for Welsh he'll head down South or to Hearts/Hibs in the summer if I was to guess.
  25. Well there's 2 done from that list hopefully the big man is ready to go straight in given he was in the stand Saturday I'd assume he's probably had a few sessions with the team and done some fitness work himself in the off season to keep himself fit. We've let 2 CBs go out so I'd expect us to replace 1 even if that's just Welsh coming back to make that pool back up to 4, for me SOD is a RB he can play CB but I wouldn't be advocating him starting there. If you look across the squad we have near enough 2 players per position which is what we need to be able to compete and i suspect what Jens wants as that drives competition.
