The thing is with Fitzpatrick when he arrived on the scene at Motherwell we really thought we had found a cracking player and then over the last 5 years he has been in and out with injuries and never really had a decent run in the team. Also when he has started to get a decent run we have seen how his performances improved. He is also a decent goal threat. I say give him the next 6 months and then see where he is then.

What about the lower leagues? Probably the same level of attendace as the SPL and they seem to be coping fine. Also what does the population of the country have to do with the size of a league. The fans are still there. 1 Dunfermline 2 Dundee 3 Raith Rovers 4 Falkirk 5 Queen of South 6 Partick Thistle 7 Cowdenbeath 8 Ross County Here is the current top 8 teams in the 1st Division. Apart from Cowdenbeath all of those teams would not look out of place in the SPL. The more I think about it the more I am warming to a 20 team league.

Why don't we just mirror the English Premier league? Two leagues of 20 teams. Play each other twice. Play off at the end of the season? This would increases attendances across the board and also give smaller clubs access to much larger attandences when playing the OF, Hearts Hibs, Aberdeen etc. It would also keep supporters interested as it will be a different teams most weeks. We seem to be stuck in this bizarre world where the benefits of playing the OF four times a season over rules everything else, but the main problem is in fact the boredom factor of playing teams like Accies and St Mirren all the time. All the clubs in the SPL figure each other out by Christmas!

If Blackman, Gow and Fitzy do leave this month then it really will heap pressure on McCall to bring in some replacements. As we can't lose three players at this time of the season especially with our small squad. Also with the potential of losing Sutton, Reynolds and Jennings in the Summer then now might be a good time to get some new faces on pre contracts sorted out or get them new contracts.

Thats not only it though. All the other teams in the current SPL still want the pontial of 4 games against the OF. Its so sad that these guys that run the clubs can't see past the pound signs and listen to us. I have now sat in a pish soaked freezing Fir park to watch my team. That was almost the last straw, but I think a 10 team league might finish me off.

We should not be trying to get rid of any players. We have a tiny squad and I doubt if we got rid of anyone on this list we could replace them with better players. Thats the cold hard facts.

I am the exact same. I don't think I have watched an SPL game on the TV in about 3 years. I really only watch Match of the Day as it shows you the good bits. I much prefer being at the game or playing the game!! This 10 team fiasco has come about as SPL clubs don't want to be even further in the red, but to me its just a very short sighted move. Scotland should have two leagues of 16 teams with two up and two down. The rest should be moved into regionlalised divisions. Will never happen though.

Maybe he turned it down. Its not just a case of us picking who we want. They have a choice too.

So from reports we have interviewed Stubbs, Sutton, McCall and Sbragia. Not sure what to make of any of them. McCall would probably be my first choice, but Everton are raving about Stubbs. Who knows. I still think a rabbit will be pulled out the hat and it will be a name we haven't even mentioned on here.

Also I think we just have to accept we have been living with Siberian temperatures for about a month and still trying to play football games in it. Its never going to work. Our game with Rangers is a doubt due to the streets around Fir Park being covered in about an inch of ice that will not be moving at all this week.

I still don't understand how they can think Jenno is guilty. The way he got sent of was so innocuous that most other days he might not even have got a yellow. Either the papers are talking shite or they have full proof evidence he is guilty. As for the ref. I think the papers are too scared to even mention 'referee' and 'match fixing' in the same sentence - or they don't mention it as they have evidence on Jenno. Either way the young lad has been treated disgracefully in this whole sorry cluster fuck.
