Why Was John Boyle In The East Stand Yesterday?
johnstone replied to Kris*Kaizer 2*Nunn's topic in Club Chat
I concur, my pie and broon sauce was excellent. Not too fatty and a nice crisp pastry. -
If we end up like a stadium like New St Mirren Park I will be devestated. Lets look to Europe for inspiration. Specifically Norway please!

I thought over the 90 mins we deserved the win. St Mirren had a few chances either side of half time, but never really put us under any sustained pressure. We on the other hand had a bout 35 minuts of constant presssure, but just couldn't get that second goal that would have killed them off. Gow did make a difference. He ran the line with intelligence and was in the right places at the right time to get us the goals to win the game. When fit I think he could be a real asset. Great start to the season and hopefully thats the 'home hoodoo' of our backs. St Mirren were not as bad as I thought they were going to be and in fact their better players were the guys they signed from Cowdenbeath. Also the boy McGowan looks a decent player. They just got punished by make school boy errors which we pounced on. With Hibs and Hearts looking pretty average this season and Aberdeen in the middle of a terrible injury crisis then this could be the time to put a bit of a gap between them if this run continues.

If Murphy continues to progress the way he is then he is destined for the big time. Humphrey has been our best player this season so far.
-
Another interesting point to note is that our defeats were as follows: Celtic x 3 Odense x 2 Dundee Utd x 2 Hibs x 1 Falkirk x 1 So since Brown has taken over we have only been beaten once by a team who finished below us in the SPL. Also I noticed we have actually been beaten 9 times not 8, but two of them are in the Europa League.

Just did a bit of digging and this is Browns record for every competitive game we have played under him: Played: 32 Won: 16 Drawn: 8 Lost: 8 Thats a fantastic record.

I understand that, but I feel people are harping on about these three home games too much. There were very valid reasons why didn't win them and its not like we have been thrashed in any game this season. I am sure Brown and Knox don't want us to play the long ball tactic, its just sometimes you have to. Especially if the other team puts 5 centre backs into the squad. I feel we are a very effective team and when we go a goal up seem now to have the ability to catch the other team on the counter attack. Apart from the Hibs game we have been very good at that this season. The St Mirren game will be a good indicator to how far we have come this season I feel. If we can get a good result as the favourites then it will do the teams confidence the world of good.

We can't really complain at all. Since Brown has been here we have had a very good record in the SPL when you take into consideration the size and age of our squad. By all accounts it looked like we played Hearts off the park with a mixture of good passing football and fast counter attacking. As for the home games, well the Hibs game was just one of those days and I certainly seen enough positives from it. The Celtic game we were just knackered after the Euro game, and we still only lost to a dodgy penalty. I never seen the Aberdeen game, but it sounded like they parked the bus and we couldn't find a way through. Again no much we can do about that. Overall this season our form has been excellent. Hence why we are sitting third in the league. Most other clubs would give their right arm to have Craig Brown as their manager. We should count ourselves lucky that we have him.

After watching Dundee Utd last night I can confirm I am happy with this draw. They seem to be pretty shaky at the back since Webster has gone. Also that boy Shala is mince.

We play better against everyone away from home!

Fix the speakers in the East Stand so we can actually understand whats happening on the pitch at half time would help. Let the guys at the end of the East Stand stand up if they want. I noticed that during our recent game with Celtic the whole of the Celtic support stood for the whole game with no issues. Yet our own fans get contantly pestered to sit down for no reason.

No bother - here to help.

I am going to miss the game because I am going to a shitty wedding in Glasgow. Bastards!
-
I have spoke to the Taliban about getting some dirty bombs to launch into the away end on Saturday. Its going to be mental.
-
Foran is a great player. Would love to have him in our team.
-
Is anything actually level? I mean seriously what are the chances of getting a perfectly level pitch? Totally insane.
-
Just watched the highlights. What a wee turn from Humphrey. Class in a glass.
-
Aye fair play to Motherwell for doing this. Good way to get people active.
-
Look back over history they have done not bad with some pretty old players. Can't deny that.
-
The Italians play their players until they hit the age of 55. Seems to have done them no harm. Age has fuck all to do with it. If you are good enough then you play. End of.
-
Out of all the Motherwell players Reynolds is the only one I would say could get into the Scotland squad. Unfortunatley in the last few months he has been prone to some major gaffs and this is probably why he isn't in the squad. If he can get his form back then I see no reason why he shouldn't be in the squad. Murphy if he continues his so far impressive career then he will be knocking on the door, but still got a long way to go. Lasley - not a chance. Hammell - not a chance.
-
Aye well done. The big man has had a great career.

Every club in Scotland apart from Rangers and Celtic have paid no transfer fees to get a player. All have been either free transfers or loan deals. Even Rangers and Celtic have had to sell players to buy. In fact Celtic have made a profit and Rangers have spent just under £2 million. That is why we haven't been splashing the cash. Also we were very unlucky not to make it into the group stages - I would say overall we matched Odense. Just one of those days at Fir Park unfortunatley. I think we have done ok in the transfer market anyway. Randolph looks excellent. Blackman looks like he could become a very good player this season. Not too sure about Casagolda yet, but he has played once and setup a goal so at least he is contributing. And if Gow gets onto a game then we all know how good he could be. I think finances are so tight that to speculate to accumulate is not an option anymore. Sadly.

Aye but a six month deal is magic if he turns put to be pish. Also has he not had a few injurys in the last few years? Swings and roundabouts.
