yes i understand that, but do the club already not have the funds after last season to reject pathetic offers?
-
maybe he was being loyal and feels he can help our club to do better than last season, or maybe he was going to spend time on the bench and get paid more or less the same wage as he is currently on. either way i am happy he is staying, because when he is on form, he is our best creative player.
-
I know it's been said many times but are our directors already holding back monies for a rainy day? We've been reducing our squad every year to enable us to offer better terms to first team players. Thus, ensuring the wage budget more or less stays the same. Another example being the release of Steve Howarth (I know he was probably on peanuts, but was his money given to Carswell?) Our cup exploits generated alot of money that surely was not in any way budgeted for. I am sure our chief executive said when we reached the final that we would be financially secure for the next 3 years. So taking on board what i have said, why is our club prepared to sell probably one of our most talented players, and key players for peanuts (ok he has not been on the best of form, but his very presence in the team probably creates more space for others etc etc) , especially when he has 1 1/2 left on his contract. Surely, with Murphy in the team we stand a better chance of progression in the cup and europe finish this year, which again could generate more income. Over the years we all have accepted we are a selling club, but have been often angered by selling players for peanuts, when lesser players, even in lower divisions get sold for considerably more monies. The club have stated they were trying to move away from those actions, but yesterday acceptance of peanuts and add ons would say something totally different. It's all very well getting add ons, but there is no guarantee it can help the club in the future, when a higher fee just now, would be far more beneficial. Perhaps it was our club that offered Murphy to Blackpool.Would not be suprised. Whilst, i can understand there aint much money about, it again seems other clubs senior management can negotiate better deals. Our club want us to donate monies, because that is what it is, to apparently help the club out in times of difficulties. Is anyone confident they can manage our monies properly? Our club cant continue to apparently fail to generate decent transfer fee income, and expect the fans to dig deep again. Our loyal core of 4000 have been doing that for many years. Yesterdays actions i am sure has raised a few doubts about contributing amongst some of our support, especially on the back of financial mess this country is in. We appointed a director to generate more money for the club. It seems his only contribution is to ask the fans for even more money! Yes, it would be nice to ensure our club continues at it's current level, but i am sorry families come first. The club needs to lead by example and show us it efforts of raising income, without asking the fans yet again.

£250k your having a laugh. we would get more if he goes out of contract in compensation. Maybe the lad is showing abit of loyality, maybe he's happy at motherwell. Not every player, like individuals in every walk of life, want to move away from family and friends.

just because they watched him does not mean they want to sign him. Perhaps just like we do they are scouting the opposition team, prior to playing them. Given that we've slightly changed the shape of the team, it makes sense so see whats what.
-
i am sure if he keeps this form, he will be with us next year. The player has already said we wants to settle down and play football. Sometimes certain clubs suit certain players, and perhaps he's found his perfect match for now.

i think our club should take Celtic's approach, i.e. get some lawyer to kick their arse.
-
it's not very hard to find clips of games where gestures have been made. Perhaps we should be helpful to the SFA and supply such clips! Perhaps like an old firm game where passions run high!
-
sfa press officer criticises motherwell fc, yet the clubs are not allowed to criticise referees and if they do are punished, i.e. managers have been banned for long periods I would hope that the club go after this indiidual, especially if the process was started as a result of a complaint by a journalist!
-
Has Celtic been done by the compliance officer? Not as if there has not been any incidents to merit the officers attention. Lack of consistancy is bound to lead to accusations that their is a bias at work. It's time that the clubs got together and raised their concerns about officials in the scottish game. Remember these officials are making a good money, whilst dragging the game down. Given the amount of bans being issued every week by the compliance officer, what does it say about the standard of refereeing? Is it now time for the referees of each game to receive punishment for missing obvious incidents and apparently dealing with them in accordance to the rules that the compliance officer adheres to?

maybe higdon should have said it was a religous gesture, much like crossing themselves. Is there any difference between what Higdon did than someone running towards the opposing supporters with a finger to their mouth, or what brown did to Diuof. overall these actions were little more than banter and trivial. As someone said how can it be that if the referee acts the player is booked, yet if he misses a trivial matter it suddenly becomes a one match ban at least. The way the compliance officer works needs to be publicly explained. Mind you if the abusing fans had kept their traps shut, and Higdon had not responded then none of this would have happened. Overall pathetic, and sums up the direction the scottish game is going. The compliance officers punishments are as random and inconsistant as the referees performances. with no explanation or come back. Perhaps a mass get it up you gesture prior to an old firm game, so that they all receive a ban, is in order. This might then get the matter discussed properly.

griffiths gets offered a 2 game ban.
-
aye, no mention of Griffiths one finger salute to hibs fans yet again and resultant ban? perhaps our clubs should question the consistancy. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4081001/Hibs-bad-boy-Leigh-fears-month-out.html#ixzz1kKe2GYiv

one other thing if a player can get banned for apparently diving which is cheating, then how come a defender who hacks someone down so stop a goal scoring opportunity and gets away with it at the time is not banned? is that also not cheating?
-
im not suprised with the ban, but it's getting out of hand. If the players can receive bans after someone has watched a tv highlight, then it's long overdue that referee's are treated in a similar fashion. O'Reilly's performances are constantly criticised by fans up and down the country, but still continues to pick up good money each week.

if it's mentioned on their, he'll be suspended. so who up front against pars? murphy & ojamma
-
compare Craigan to Utd's Kenneth! who would you rather have?
-
Perhaps it might be best if one of the mods deleted all mention of gestures to fans, as the compliance officer might be lurking. Remember Griffiths has been done twice for this offence. So get it deleted or i reckon we could lose him againsts pars!

the abuse of players has been happening for decades, and constantly gets debated on this very website, especially after a defeat. Never ever going to change. I have said it before, but the Fir Park atmosphere can be poisenous, especially towards our own players. Mental, as the opposition now that if they sit in and let the fans get on the home players back, they've every chance of winning the game. We all want a winning team, but sometimes frustrations can get the better of certain individuals. I can understand the odd shout of discontent, but for the life of me can't understand why anyone would pay money to abuse our own players every single home game for no reason, other than they dont like them. It's obvious that the likes of Murphy, Humphrey & other younger players thrive on confidence. Abusing them is never ever going to help.
-
aye, thats going to look great. Manager gets team into cup final, top half of the table, has a few dodgy performances like every over spl team, and gets punted. aye, very good. Perhaps, now is the time for him to shine. Easy when we were winning, but he at least deserves times to sort this mini slide. The staff at Fir Park need knuckle down and work harder.
-
think the players spend more time practicising their golf swing!
-
only hearts have gained and overtook us today. We've still lgot games in hand, tho, whether we get any points from them....
-
aye, and tell them they are all for sale! which seems to have motivated them to try and sell themselves. Where as at Fir Park, the players all want to stay and are determined not to shine in front of scouts
-
dont think we've been found out. more like our luck has ran out, and players aint performing. Caley was always going to make it hard, but expected at least a draw. To lose is very poor, and arses need to be kicked. Also how many goals are we going to lose for not closing down the opposition!
