  1. you would think with the pace we have we could exploit them, as they must be taking some amount of chances.
  2. keep the ball time me thinks. and with that goal it total screws the bbc live spl table
  3. is craigan on a mission of some kind of record for continous bookings. seems he gets booked every game he plays these days. never easy playing against 10 especially away from home. Every chance Aberdeen will up their efforts.
  4. Calderwood looked lost to me, and reminded me alot like Malpas. Had Houghton got the WBA, Calderwood would have been off i reckon. Hibs have had a couple of good results of late, but their is still a huge rebuilding job required there. The football under Malpas was terrible, results worse, and deserved to go.
  5. McCall joined Motherwell on 30th December. The transfer window opened a couple of days later. I would assume that McCall probably did not really know much about our players and was prepared to give some a chance to prove themselves. We lost some players again probably due to financial reasons, and had the task of trying to replace them at a time where there were very few options available. The January transfer window is for rich clubs, there aint many bargains for clubs that are skint. How you can say he does not have a long term plan, without actually knowing or talking to him and the club is beyond me. The beginning of next season, after the summer transfer window is a more reasonable and realistic time to judge. Seems many on here were waiting for todays result just to put the boot in, without any realism. I aint happy about losing 6 nil, but it's only a game of football. The club's be in a far worse position than it is in today. That also does not excuse todays performance but i am prepared to give McCall time, the teenagers in our team time to mature. Results aint great granted, but at least we are trying to play the game in the right way. With time you never know. Instant success aint compatible with Motherwell. It took wee Tommy years and years to get it right, and when he did, it was worth waiting. Criticise, but keep it realistic please.
  6. just goes to show how much we miss Hammell.
  7. taken out the team and replace by who exactly? I agree certain players need to be rested so to speak, but who is there to bring in? Outwith the normal starting 11, with an average age of below 23?, we have say about 5 youths that are our backup. Big ask for them to come into a team thats struggling.
  8. what you really think Hamilton will make up 14 points on us? they find goals harder to come by than us, and that says something.
  9. how long you been a 'well fan? You know whilst it is never acceptable getting beat by 6 goals, it aint the first and wont be the last time, so should we all not be used to it, and just shrug the shoulders, and know better results will also come along at some point, and give us greater enjoyment.
  10. and perform reasonably well in europe. When a team can afford to spend £4m on a striker, they aint that skint, and should be miles ahead of all but Celtic.
  11. if the players can get motivated for this, then god help us. Lets have a right go at them, as their defence is mince, and give the fans their smile back please. I would also hope that Hateley is nowhere near the midfield.
  12. is Boyle making the decisions about finance? Seems since the appointment of Weir? etc spending has been cut. Not saying it's a bad thing, just need to look at Dundee, but was wondering how much involvement does Boyle have these days.
  13. The fans mood is already on a major down. Todays result just adds fuel to that. McCall perhaps got his tactics wrong today, h**s played a belter, and our players lost the ability to mark, tackle and pass a ball. Seems to be the normal of late. Perhaps the lack of reinvestment (understandable given scottish finances) in the squad has at last bit us on the ass. As i've said only a result against Aberdeen now can perhaps save our season.
  14. aye i know. perhaps someone could rename it to RANT AWAY chaps
  15. What would the score have been had Craigan & Lasley not played? (should probably say turned up) The club owe the fans a performance and result against Aberdeen, otherwise a sub 3000 home game attendance is on the cards.
  16. wish our team was as skint as the h**s... Maybe Hutchinson should not be allowed to play at Ibrox again.
  17. when a manager gets appointed, some people take to the manager and some dont. Those, that dont will usually look to use any defeat, poor performance to criticise. Sure, it's their right, and football is all about opinions. But the Motherwell job, is hardly an easy job and any manager should be given time to try and build his own side. We have time, given how bad Accies and St Mirren are, so hows having a little patience. Football under Brown was dire, but we were fluking good results. Now, apart from today it;s been better football and worse results. Where's the logic? Craigan might be injured, but his positioning at the first goal was criminal. Hateley has not , other than a few minutes here and there, performed this season. Brown could not get the best out of him, and it looks as if McCall with limited other options has little option to continue to play him.
  18. rather than blame the manager, hows about blaming the players, and especially the experienced players. What can the manager do if the defensive players cant do the basics, i.e. tackle and mark an opponent? Performances of late have been better, although results have been poor. Today is just shambolic, just like so many previous visits to Ibrox. The defence is getting pulled all over the place, as the midfield have failed to turn up and provide cover, which is criminal given that Lasley, Jennings & Hateley are all defensively minded. Sadly, with injuries, and small squad, the likes of Craigan & Hateley who shoud be, cant be rested.
  19. Take away the old firm and their money, and we can compete at the level just below them. Much was made of Craigan's experience as he organises the defence. He aint doing that today by the looks of things, as it's school boy defending. All rushing to the ball, and allowing men to go free in the box for easy pickings. I dont know if it's a mental thing, but by god we cant play at Ibrox. This could easily end up 6 or 7 if the h**s can be bothered.
  20. defence is a shambles. so much for having the experienced player back. just as i said h**s sat back let us have the ball, then decided to go up field and score, and then score again for good measure. men versus boys.
  21. wtf? five motherwell players including craigan at right side of pitch and all fail to tackle wiese who crosses to an unmarked naysmith. what will happen now is that we will have all the ball do nothing, they will go up field when they can be bothered and score.
