  1. That was abysmal today. Looked like a bunch of strangers who were out for a stroll and got their arses well and truly kicked. Big, big turnaround required for the next two absolutely crucial games.
  2. Motherwell V Dundee United, 26th November at Fir Park, now on BBC Alba that night.
  3. Come off it, even you have got to admit we're playing well enough to get something tomorrow!
  4. Plenty of highlights from the Colombia 2 Jamaica 0 (which Omar Daley came on as a sub and hit the bar at 1-0 with a 20 yarder) here .... Youtube
  5. That might be the one John Reilly scored against Herts at Fir Park a few years after. Put us 1-0 up, absolute belter into the Cooper stand end, Sadly lost 1-3.....
  6. Definetly Andy Harrow who scored. He also scored the best finish I think I ever saw to date at Fir Park though few will recall the 1-0 screamer against Saint Johnstone on a pishing wet February Saturday back in that dismal 83-84 season.
  7. Prettty sure the FIFA rankings are made up to include friendlies. Several nations played many games against nobodies just to boost their ratings.
  8. SFL Website says game on Tuesday, 20th September with a 7.45 pm kick-off.... SFL
  9. Selection of pics here. Some former manager moonlighting.............pics
  10. Six Saturdays in-a-row we've been top. Gotta be some sort of record for a non old-firm team in the top flight. Even when Romanov's mob won their opening 9 games in 05-06, they weren't top after the first week.
  11. Great play from Jennings, Murphy and Lasley to play in Higdon, who smashes the ball low in to Gallacher's far corner. A merited Well lead
  12. Sport Motherwell embrace Daley Midfielder signs two-year contract with SPL club BY SEAN A WILLIAMS Assistant Sport Editor Saturday, August 27, 2011 Pacy Reggae Boy midfielder Omar Daley has joined Scottish Premier League (SPL) campaigner Motherwell FC on a two-year deal. Daley, 30, wrapped up the deal with the Steelmen earlier this week, almost two months after his contract with English League Two outfit Bradford City ran its course. "It's just a blessing to be be playing again," Daley told the Observer from Motherwell, the North Lanarkshire town yesterday. Except for his work permit, Daley, the former Glenmuir High School player, said all other areas of business related to the deal have been settled, including a medal examination he successfully did yesterday. "I have signed the dotted line... and I think I have to return to Jamaica to get my work permit stamped in my passport for me to return, I am 95 per cent sure of successfully getting it, though anything can happen," said the former Portmore United speed demon. If successful, Daley could make his debut away to Scottish football's powerhouse Celtic in a couple weeks time, in what his expected to be a sell-out Celtic Park crowd of 60,000 people. After five games, Motherwell are second in the SPL points table with ten points, the same as leaders and many-time champions Ranngers, who have played a game less. Motherwell have won three, drew one and lost one.s Daley, who had stints in England with Reading, Preston North End and Bradford's fiercest rivals Rotherham, follows two other Jamaican playing top flight football in Scotland. Current Reggae Boyz player Ricardo Fuller did a spell at Hearts, while Jamaica's senior national coach Theodore strutted his stuff for Livingston. "At Bradford I played in League Two, so this is definitely a better league because Motherwell have big clubs like Rangers and Celtic to contend with," he noted. Daley, also known as 'Ratty', believes that the Scottish Premier League is not far behind the English Premier League in quality. "I don't think its a big difference as England and Scotland are close, so its the same style of living... same rules, but I think it's a good league and not much different from the English Premier League," noted the Jamaiaca, who has been capped 65 times for Jamaica's senior team since making his debut back in 2000. Daley, whose promising career was once threatened by cruciate ligament knee injury at Bradford City against Darlington in 2007, says his move to Fir Park Stadium was facilitated in part by friend Nicky Law, a player on Motherwell's roster. "He (Law) knew I was out of a job and went and had a chat with Stuart McCall, and that's how everything started to fall in place. I know that the gaffer (McCall) has a lot of confidence in me... it's good to work with him again as he knows what I can do," Daley told the Observer. The one-time League Two Team of the Season selectee, said McCall, a former Scottish international, was "impressed with me" in two practice matches. "I have played in two squad games and the gaffer said I looked sharp as when I first signed for Bradford," Daley beamed. The midfielder, who was a member of Jamaica's Under-20 team to that age-group FIFA World Cup back inn 2001, said at the mellowing age of 30 is yet to attain his playing best, but was quick to say he has matured in a variety of ways. "I wouldn't say that I am at my best cause I am still learning, but what I would say is that I am more experienced, matured, hungry and more determined," he explained. The Clarendon native said he was grateful to the JFF and coach Theodore Whitmore for giving the opportunity to revive his flagging international career, which provided the lift he needed as he sought a new club. Daley last represented Jamaica in a friendly match against China in that country some two weeks ago. 13. I do. Their goalie had a blinder that night. He's now a Lecturer at Motherwell College!
  14. 23 Motherwell efforts on goal (14 on target) to Clyde's 7 (5 on target). Complete control.
  15. BBC say we've a new striker starting........... 12 Hollis 15 Hutchinson 20 Page 23 Halsman 04 Law 06 Hateley 14 Lasley 09 Higdon 16 McHugh 18 Forbes 25 Lawleff Substitutes 01 Randolph, 05 Craigan, 07 Humphrey, 26 Carswell, 19 Smith
  16. Motherwell will comfortably win this 3-0.
  17. Second top of the table after five games. Aye, I'd take it. We lost to a better team today. Much as I hate to say it but it's true. Time to forget it and get on with things.
  18. Fine 3-1 win for the lads away to Kilmarnock today.
  19. Some Youtube vids. First two are of the tribute to Uncle Phil, third one is a season review with the goals near the end.
  20. If they did bid, it would be starting at £10,000 then submitting daily bids of £1000 more......
  21. It's our best defensive start since 1933-34! Fifth game we did concede. just one in a 2-1 home win over ...... Rangers. By my reckoning a clean sheet next week would be a club record.
  22. There were only 9 efforts on goal the entire match today, and we had two thirds of them I'd say that would clearly mean we were definetly the more creative side. Don't say much about the home team does that.
  23. In 1994-95, we lost 1-2, a 73rd minute injury time to Ferguson at Ibrox, then went unbeaten until Aberdeen won 1-0 at a rainsoaked Fir Park in December. Discounting an extra-time league cup defeat at home to Aidire, and the two Dortmund defeats, that was 16 league games unbeaten. Went kinda pear-shaped thereafter, including taking the lead at soon-to-be-relegated Dundee United and losing 1-6, but we still finished second. I recall John Lambie saying after we'd destroyed Partick in a first-half rout at Fir Park that "no team would've survived against Motherwell in that mood" or words to that effect. Was a great first- half to a season that one.
  24. Jambos kickback is absolutely hilarious in their defence of that nutcase Black. Some of the comments read " LASLEY THREW HIS LEGS UNDER HIM!" and "What I'd say on the issue is that Lasley's foul (on Mrowiec?) which only got him a yellow was every bit as bad as Black's. I'd say both were yellows - meaty late challenges but genuine attempts for a loose ball. If not, both were reds. The ref got it wrong." as well as "Lasley gets there first but only by a fraction of a second and you can see why Black thought he might be the first to make contact with the ball...as it was, he didn't...but only missed it by the skin of his teeth.... " Some of their fans admit it was as clear a red as you'll ever see, but to suggest Las deliberately got him sent off is ridiculous. Neither of Keith's challenges wer ered card offences. You got beat, Black's an erse, get over it.
  25. Had a guy near me constantly on at how shite Humph was yesterday.
