Motherwell boss Stuart McCall has offered Estonian striker Henrik Ojamaa a two-and-a-half year contract to keep him at the club.
The 20-year-old joined the Steelmen at the beginning of January, signing until the end of the current season.
However the former Derby trainee has proved a big hit in Lanarkshire scoring three goals in four starts for the club.
Ojamaa hit two in the 3-2 victory over St Johnstone on Saturday and Motherwell have moved to tie the player on a long-term deal.
Stuart McCall said: “Since he signed he’s been electric. We are hopeful.
“He’s sent it (the contract) to let his dad have a cast over it but hopefully prior to Saturday’s game he will have signed a longer-term deal with us.
"He's had so many goals with just four shots and he's had a real impact on the team.
"But we've got to be careful as we can't expect that from him week in, week out."
Every game I'll make my way out of the East Stand, talking about the game, then thinking immediately ahead to the next one. It's gone, sod all you can do about it apart from try to get it right next time. Unless we beat Barcelona 10-0 in the Champions League Final folk will still give it the anti-support. For abusing your own players is exactly that.
Always interesting to read the other side's forum, but this is simply a piece of pish. A Saint Johnstone fan in Wishaw no less........

Should have got got a point from those cheats make mine a pint of bitter tonight
Saint Johnstone have arguably a better away record than we do this season, so that's an outstanding result today. Take a bow after a brilliant week in seriously testing circumstances everyone!
No I don't, but surely you have got to think that, ever since we played Jennings after the said don't, there have been some pretty iffy things happening to us, this being the latest. Somebody, somewhere within the SFA won't have been happy.
You'd like to think las would be fine with that, just pointing out that there are issues which must be addressed, much the same way the club has in it's statement. However, given the randomness of our beloved Compliance Officer, anything's possible.
Ivan Sproule got a two match suspended ban for calling officials incompetent. Now, that's surely worse then HIgdon's personal celebration which offended nobody. SFA out to get us, so it feels, ever since we played Jenno after they "asked" us not to.
If we get tore into Dunfermline from the start on Tuesday we'll beat them. That point, coming so late, might be the turning point. That's how bad runs turn around. Good point to take tbh.
We're fourth with two games in hand over the team a point above us, it's mid-January with almost two-thirds fo the season gone and for the first time this season we've dropped out of the top three. We're in the middle of a bad run of form (which EVERYONE has during a season). Clearly time to get rid of the manager.............NOT.
Aye, nearly turned my car off the road I laughed so hard. Can't wait until Reynolds and the Humph are chasing a through ball. Broon really talks utter pish, he was going on about how good Reynolds was yesterday. It was FORFAR ATHLETIC ya silly auld git!
If we can win with the minimum of fuss, keep ourselves out of trouble ahead of a vital game next weekend, then what's the problem really? I'd love to have seen us dominate, but winning 4-0 if the opposition have more of the ball, cannot really argue with that.
