  1. Whilst it is very amusing to read the ramblings of the Saints fans, we have games from years back that we look back on and feel cheated too, the best example of which was the 1976 Scottish Cup semi against THEM, when our 2-0 lead was eroded due to cheating from both THEM and ref JPR Gordon.
  2. Thought his club wanted a loan fee? Can't think they'd release him after insisting on that!
  3. We have snow in Netherton but not too horrendous. Sure the hot air balloon will keep the game on, presuming its in use.
  4. The great news is we have three players to add to Monday's squad ie Shug, Cillian and Semih. Shug will probably start ahead of Las and I get the feeling that Cillian will get the nod ahead of Sutty, however Semih might have to start on the bench. It means the likes of McGarry, Dazzler and Murph might miss out, but isn't having a positive selection problem what we want?
  5. Simpe as that! Hope you're right!
  6. Hope he turns out to be better than the over-hyped Abel Thermeus!
  7. Good luck to the big man.
  8. I suspect it'll be £15/£10 but it would be great if they agreed on £12/£6 or something similar, as a gesture to those who lost out by not getting to Inverurie and/or losing days off work.
  9. [quote name='Andy J' date='Feb 3 2009, 10:04 AM' post='28726') I'm happy that we didnt embarrass ourselves. For sure the pitch was a leveller, and you had more pace and skill than us, but for a bunch of part-timers I have to be happy that we didnt fold after going down after 90 seconds against your first choice team. (apart from Hughes obviously - presumably he was rested?) I think that is a perfectly fair comment Andy. Locos tried to play fitba on a surface and with overhead conditions that were in no way conducive to decent fitba. It took us a while to put you guys to bed, and after that it could've been any score, but I think 3-0 was fair enough. Was impressed by Locos and heartened by the hospitality and friendliness shown in the town, best of luck to Locos for the rest of the season, and don't be a stranger on these boards Andy!

    Motm Vs Hibs

A tough decision this, as a few could lay serious claim to MOTM. Shug controlled the midfield and O'Brien was a constant danger, but my vote went to Clarky who ran his heart out and played really well, apart from the penalty.
  11. 100% spot on, easily a 3 or 4-1 for us without Rob Jones in that Hibs team, God help them if he does leave. A very heartening performance today, as dominant as last week without quite as many clear chances, but a positive showing nonetheless. Really hungry all over the park and in the second half it was as one-sided a game as you'll see. Aleast that keeps our run going, six undefeated now, but the three draws we've had in that run should all have been three pointers. What a position we'd be in with those extra points. Never mind, onwards and upwards. A win over Accies in the next SPL fixture will push us clear of a few teams and hopefully above this dreadful Hibs team.
  12. Here's hoping you're right Wincey, you rarely let us down!
  13. Seems we've all been too pre-occupied with the ongoing Ports transfer saga to start this! Easy team for me, Sutton in for Ports. Prediction? I'm hopeful for a 2-1 win. What say you?
  14. I can't help thinking that if the game is off Monday and Wednesday, that the SFA will look to move it somewhere else for next Saturday.
  15. Really sad about losing Ports, but realistic enough to know that he was destined to move on. The shout about Killen could be a good one, or maybe even Gow. Either would be okay by me.
  16. Long term I'd sign Buzz, Shug and Maros on long term deals. In what remains of the transfer window I'd allow McGhee to sign the boy Webster, Don Cowie and a striker to replace Ports, maybe Gow on loan from Gers.
  17. I'm hugely disappointed to be losing big Ports, if this turns out to be true. The money is good for sure, and if McGhee can use it to bring in two or three players now and keep the likes of Buzz, Shug and Maros beyond the summer then all well and good. Good luck in Cardiff Ports, and thanks for everything.
  18. The problem is with the pitch being so frozen deep down for so long, it will take a lengthy spell of higher temperatures for it to thaw sufficiently, and that aint happening. Even the merest hint of frost is having a negative effect on Harlaw Park. I feel sorry for the staff at Locos, who are undoubtedy working hard to get the game on, and the cost to them in terms of catering etc is mounting up. Maybe we should get our hot air balloon up there and assist with the costs.
  19. Seems they will never get over us staying up at their expense in 2003!!
  20. We also looked at keeper Pegguy Arphexad who went on to play for Leicester and Liverpool.
  21. I don't think we're any worse than most other sets of fans in the SPL, but for me we are too negative too quickly and don't back the team enough at times.
  22. If it was up to me I'd allow Malcolm and McGarry to leave, keep Maros, Shug and Buzz plus bring in another defender, midfielder and a striker to replace Ports. Ideally a squad size of 20 plus the youngsters would be perfect for us.
  23. There are both pros and cons to that. If the pitch is almost playable at 9am then it allows them time to get it sorted, rather than call it off too early. Of course if it gets the go-ahead at 9am then is called off at 12, that is a bigger inconvenience! Fingers crossed for a mild night.
  24. The Mighty Well second in the world!! Get in!!
