Same team as the weekend for me, using Clarky, O'Brien and Murphy to run at them out wide. It could be a struggle as they need the points, but if we make a good start I can see us winning well. That said I'd be content enough with 1-0 and no cards!
  2. Well done to all concerned, and as for Flow....nice pic of him in the Motherwell Times in his best suit and dickie bow!!
  3. Was it not Andy Walker who got the winner against Brechin? Think Rab got the opener that day and about 8 or 9 others that season. Seem to recall we signed him from the Pars for about 5k or something. Sure he played for us briefly in the Premier the season after, scored a peach when we lost 3-1 to Dundee fairly early season, but disappeared after that. Not sure where he ended up to be honest.
  4. Ha ha thought you might say that!!
  5. Personally I'd rather see Killie go down, taking their crabbit manager and delusional fans with them.
  6. One more goal will give Clarky his best scoring season of his career, so fingers crossed.
  7. What he is is a pain in the arse to play against as far as we're concerned!
  8. That's right, I seem to remember Flow making the point that the pitch wouldn't be ready for early July. Maybe any Europa League qualifiers (should we make it of course) would have to be played at Airdrie or somewhere similar.
  9. I think this one will be a draw, probably 1-1.

    Clarky - 250 Up!

He might not be the best player we've even had, but few can match his endeavour, workrate and passion for the jersey. Well done Clarky, and here's to many more.
  11. Any time we make it into the top six it should be regarded as a great achievement. The city clubs have the financial advantage over the rest of us and should always be up there. We're not a big enough club to demand or expect top half finishes, European jaunts or trips to Hampden on a regular basis, which makes them all the better when they happen. This season has been disappointing, but only in comparison to last season. Given the financial disparity and the poor run we had in November/December, to get within a point of Hibs was pretty good. The close season will be huge for us though, in terms of players in and out. We need to at least keep the same numbers in the squad, and maybe even add an extra body, just to keep us competitive. We can't afford to be bringing in too many loans and looking at trialists right up to the start of the season, we have to hit the ground running this time. However, if we are challenging for the top six and enjoy at least one cup run then that'll do me.
  12. It was always likely to happen for two reasons. Firstly he appeared a bit lazy any time I've seen him play, despite his goals. Secondly, as he's named after two of Motherwell's worst strikers he was never going to make it was he?!!!
  13. Well done to all four Motherwell lads, a great honour for them and for the club too.
  14. If McGhee is true to his word then guys like Buzz, Shug and Boab will be nowhere near the team, and young lads like Hutchinson and McHugh will get a chance to play a few games.
  15. The whole day on the Thursday was fantastic, seeing all those Well fans in Place Stanislas partying and singing. The walk to Stade Marcel Picot was amazing and the atmos throughout the game was immense, very emotional when 'There's only one Phil O'Donnell' started up too. A wonderful trip, and here's to more in the future.
  16. Maybe even less Al, as ICT will bring about 50 in a midweek.
  17. Aye, and its ICT they've made to travel to Fir Park, what a load of nonsense!
  18. Killie twice mate?!!! We are due two at home after the split, with Killie and ICT due at Fir Park. I assume the fixtures will be out in the next 24 hours.
  19. Shug for me, the only man who took responsibilty for us going forward, although Clarky put in a tremendous shift.
  20. Aye, might as well. We've been in worse positions than this and still turned out in good numbers.
  21. In terms of the game I felt we bossed the first hour without ever looking like a goal was forthcoming, which perhaps sums us up this season. St Mirren somehow managed to win a game they had set out to get a draw from, which says a lot for how we defended at times! Huge disappointment but now we must look to next season and give the likes of McHugh, Saunders, Hutchinson and Slane some game time.
  22. Whoever we sign I'd like to see the squad in place for the start of the season so we can hit the ground running, something we failed to do this season.
  23. It is a must win for us, although St Mirren have their own agenda which only adds to the nature of the match. However we're at home and are a better side, and when better to prove it? The side Mark McGhee picks for tomorrow is crucial. We cannot afford to get the personnel or formation wrong this time. If Crags is fit then for me he comes back in for B-Mac, and I agree that Maros has to shadow Dorman in midfield. Do that successfully and we win. With that in mind I'd go 4-3-3 with Shug and Fitzy accompanying Maros, with last week's front three retaining their places. That side should ensure we get the three ponts we need, hopefully a comfortale 2-0.
