Craig Brown - "I only talked to Aberdeen as a courtesy"
Terry Butcher - "I only went to Australia for a holiday"
EDIT: I'll add that I have some sympathy with managers when they are wheeled out the press to answer their often stupid questions in the immediate aftermath of a defeat. I don't have any sympathy when players and managers lie about their intentions to move on and peddle the pork pies. It makes them look like they think fans are idiots.
Agree. And you can add to that the fact he won promotion as the Championship team in the play-off, which is a rarity. The very least they owed him was his chance to consolidate in the Premiership his first season back.
The biggest challenge is playing the same team in consecutive games. That's never easy as the opponents have fresh experience of how you are playing. So you have to decide if you are going the same again in the belief it's enough to win or change it up for variation and risk the changes are not as effective.
Aberdeen have a mini goalkeeping crisis - which is why they have ended up signing Craig Samson in an emergency coach/backup keeper situation. So right now, they get to choose Woods or Samson.
You'd be amazed how the the simplest of things can get in the way of people. It's like the number of people that never see the Google search results on page 2 because they won't click the Next Page link.
I see Craig Samson has registered as a keeper for Aberdeen on an emergency short-term basis and is also helping out as a coach. Another ex-keeper, Gordon Marshall, is their regular coach and out of action due to surgery.
As I've said before, I don't mind guys like Gordon or Miller giving their opinions, because we know they are Aberdeen fans and can filter accordingly. Much better that way than the ones who have OF loyalties but pretend they support other teams.
And it's only going to get worse. As Burrow's pointed out recently, post-Brexit, English clubs have even more incentive to nick Scottish youngsters early in their development instead of importing EU kids like they used to.
Not just the Premiership. Even when I watch Championship games these days I'm surprised at how many non-Scottish players are playing in our lower leagues.
