Will certainly be interesting to see what GA does in the summer. He's set his stall out now with the style and tactics he wants to play and seen how his own signings have performed. There will obviously be better options in the summer than there were in January, so plenty of opportunity to improve with the right moves.
To be fair, apart from Kelly, the entire team was culpable the first half. We stood off them far too much and let them do what they wanted.
Second half was the opposite, where we started to impose ourselves a bit more and press in better areas.
So you are saying that we can hire any old coach and that will work out as long as we have the players? Because by that standard, we should never need to sack any gaffer.
If it wasn't for teams like us thinking outside the box, the Premiership would just be the same 12 managers rotating between clubs until one of them dies.
Most important thing is we keep up a consistent level of performance to give us momentum into March.
A point would be good, three would be excellent, none would be likely.
Also saw Allan "the hitman" Campbell was on the scoresheet again today with another belter from outside the box - followed by a yellow card shortly after for a "bad foul".
After having some first team starts I noticed Moult hasn't even been in the Burton Albion squad the last couple of games.
Turns out he was sidelined due to vertigo! Although he is back in training now.
Joe Wark had all the attributes of a modern left back with his ability to break forward and pick out a cross. He also had all the attributes of an old school left back with his precision and timing of his tackling.
Was a pleasure to watch all those years.
There's a school of thought, which I tend to agree with, that managers get a much better view of the game from the stand than they do from the touchline and can be more effective from there. I'm not sure it has that much of an impact overall.
McGhee's biggest problem is he never lets a thought go unspoken.
I agree he did a decent job for us most of the time. He rightly took flak for saying he wanted the Celtic job shortly after he joined us. He repeated that thought shortly after joining Aberdeen - which is either stupidity or ego.
It made his press conferences interesting, though.
