  1. It's definitely a learning process. When you have trained for 20 years to clear your lines instead of looking for a pass, some adjustment is required. Equally important is recognising when you do, and when you do not, have time to look for that pass. Mistakes will no doubt be made, but we need to stick to the plan.
  2. If be "even better" you mean he scored 2 goals last season and was dropped from the international team due to poor form, then yes.
  3. Rangers have struggled to win their opener in recent years. I think this will be a low scoring draw. 1 - 1.
  4. No to Bair. We need to stop thinking about bringing old players back and start thinking about new players that fit into JBA world.
  5. He was greetin' about the grass at Hampden and the physicality of the players when Scotland beat Spain. He wouldn't last 2 minutes in an away game at Livi.
  6. It's also why much of Scottish football is in the dark ages.
  7. 100% There's still a long way to go, but I'd much rather watch our defence make 3 or 4 passes along the back looking for an opening than watch Casey hoof a hopeful long ball over AP's head.
  8. Sitting 3rd in the group right now too, behind East Fife and Kelty Hearts.
  9. More load balancing, bit more progression in our tactics and play, AP scores, clean sheet, top of the group. Now for fun, scroll back through the thread to read the complaints.
  10. Acceptable. Take your pick...
  11. Much better than a drive to Glasgow.
  12. I'm sure the new manager and new players will be highly encouraged by your unwavering support.
  13. Which ironically was during one of our best ever league campaigns.
  14. Sometimes it's just a bad fit. Classic example for Hearts was John Sutton. Good with us, struggled at Hearts and then came back to Fir Park for a 22 goal season.
  15. A good big'un beats a good little'un as they say. As usual, though, it's all about the balance across the team.
  16. For the US based 'Well fans (who don't have MFC TV), I see Paramount+ is streaming this match live.
  17. I'm with you on that - I'm not a fan of seeding in cup competitions.
  18. The seeding in this competition has been a bit of a joke in recent years, so not too bothered about that. Would like to win the group, though, and keep progressing on the park.
  19. The coaching has also improved in all levels of the game. The lower league teams are playing tactics you would never have seen 20 or 30 years ago.
  20. Agreed. We're missing a Tom Aldred or Shaun Hutchinson type figure in the defence.
  21. He looked good for us too when we played Arbroath.
  22. I voted for the keeper. I know he has had little to do in the past 2 games, but other than the poor pass against Peterhead (which he redeemed with a good save), he has looked confident and 100% on board with the new strategy. Playing regularly on loan certainly doesn't hurt in that position compared to sitting on the bench for 2 years. Being an academy product might add to my bias.
  23. I think we're still at the stage where players are thinking about the new tactics, instead of being more instinctive - and that cause some of the runs and passes to be slightly late. Agree about the crosses, though - quality has been poor overall.
