  1. I'm happy to see us field whatever the boss thinks our strongest team of salaried employees happens to be.
  2. Every time I've seen us win the Scottish Cup we've needed a couple of replays along the way.
  3. I like the sound of him. Some of us have made a career out of "looking busy".
  4. That's a bit dramatic. I thought they just hadn't made the first team squad for today's game (and it's nice change to have enough options to rotate).
  5. We have office in Vancouver and the employees there manage to live a pretty decent lifestyle on much less than Rose's salary.
  6. We didn't. But passing of extreme opinions as facts is how social media operates these days.
  7. Nobody plays well at Livi - even Celtic have lost there this season. And, for all our hopes of beating them, Celtic are miles ahead of every team in Scotland in budget and quality of players. Of course we can try and compete with them 11 v 11 - and we did for periods of the game on Wednesday night - but as I said before the game, where quality makes a difference is in the percentage of changes taken. Celtic had 2 shots on target to our 3 when they were 2 - 0 ahead. That's the edge a few million quid buys you. So, for me, neither result was particularly unexpected. More unexpected was our win in Aberdeen. And despite that run of tough fixtures, we'll still 3 points clear in 3rd place when I was expecting Aberdeen might have overtaken us. I still have concerns about the right combination up front, but time will tell if Aaron and Ndjoli can make a difference.
  8. So it turns out multi-million pound players ARE actually better than freebies we pick up from the lower leagues.
  9. If we skipped the first 10 minutes of every half against the OF, we'd have a pretty good record.
  10. Sadly not. No Scottish games broadcast on proper telly these days. If you find a local Irish bar, they might have a Celtic TV feed.
  11. Looking forward to writing off the new guy on his 60 minute debut.
  12. I'm sure that's part of it. The cynic in me also thinks a part of it is keeping some of the better youngsters out of the hands of their rivals.
  13. Celtic seem to like buying decent players with no real plan on how to use them. The most recent example is Lewis Morgan who played the vast majority of his football on loan before being punted to the MLS.
  14. Until the development fee is extracted from Columbus, I think we can all agree he is an excellent footballer with international caps and huge potential.
  15. I wonder if Cadden is wishing he'd followed the more traditional transfer route and still be playing beside him instead of preparing for a winter in Ohio.
  16. I was thinking when I read it that it could have done with a good editor review before it was published.
  17. It's from a opinion column originally written for The Herald. These things usually contain 2 or 3 different bits unrelated to each other. That's why it's titled "AND ANOTHER THING..."
  18. Very true. I doubt any 'Well fan would be too surprised if we got something out of tonight's game then lose on Saturday.
  19. I've seen Gorrin a few times since he moved to Oxford and he's usually had a good game (and seems highly rated by the commentators and pundits).
  20. They would be daft to blindly buy any guy. But we know he'll be subjected to at least the same rigourous level of medical tests that identified the issue in the first place. I'd be happier if nobody wanted him until he gets another full season under his belt at Fir Park, but I can't see that happening. I fully expect a club will be happy to take a relatively low risk on him. If not Celtic, then an English club.
  21. I wasn't a big fan of the Watt option before we sold Scott (as I'd prefer if we had been able to develop him for the remainder of the season). Now that Scott's moved on, I agree it's a low risk option to take a look and see if he can do a job for the remainder.
  22. With the way the negotiations happened and the comments in the aftermath, I'd be surprised if they don't still have the first option to buy. If they decline, I'd still be surprised to see Turnbull at Fir Park next season in role other than "back for a visit". I'd be delighted, however, if he is in our line-up next season.
