  1. Long's only on a one year deal, so any discussions with English clubs could be pre-contract for a Bosman in the summer.
  2. If we do get a "traditional" number 9, it gives me the fear we'll just revert to humping long balls up the middle.
  3. I like Griffiths, but not a fan of bringing in players in January that haven't had first team action for months.
  4. http://oklivetv.com/bbc-1-scotland-live/ has worked for me in the past too, but can be a bit flaky sometimes in bypassing location restrictions. (I just tested it and it ran OK for me on Firefox, but on Safari it was asking for my BBC iPlayer password).
  5. I hope he doesn't think Columbus is in California, or he's in for a rude awakening.
  6. If we are serious about fighting for 3rd, we shouldn't be letting Gallagher go until the summer. And if I was Gallagher I'd be giving Wigan a wide berth (as tempting as a Kipré / Gallagher pairing would be). Watched them a few times this season and they have been very poor and already in another relegation battle.
  7. There are always players on our (and every club's) radar. Sometimes they pan out, sometimes they don't get resolved until a later window, sometimes they fall through. The one consistent thing, however, is to never believe any manger when they talk about who they are or aren't signing!
  8. I don't think it will be on MFC TV. There will likely be a stream available from the usual sources, but I'll be sticking to my VPN and BBC iPlayer.
  9. Also good news that Dundee's game was cancelled today, as that is one less bit of competitive match practice for them.
  10. The better players typically aren't available in January, so we might have to make do with a loan until the summer again.
  11. Any banning, I imagine, will only happen after a guilt verdict.
  12. I've never bothered trying to dig into it, but I often used to get about a 20 or 30 second delay before the page loads on my laptop, but that has improved recently. On my phone, using the Brave browser (which is a Chrome variant), it's a bit hit and miss if anything loads. Probably some dodgy javascript slowing things down. It does feel overloaded with unnecessary dynamic content and definitely not optimised for mobile devices.
  13. Campbell, Cadden, Hastie and Turnbull managed to survive McGhee's last season unscathed.
  14. It's the internet - the place where everyone's thoughts, opinions and theories magically turn into facts.
  15. I think they would both have benefited from more first team games and training with the first team in an environment that is more accommodating for young players. Ultimately they may have ended up in the same place, but I suspect they are a year or two behind in their development compared to where they might have been if they stayed. They are still young enough to prove themselves, though, so time will tell if they cashed in at the right time.
  16. The regulations say money has to be paid within 30 days or, I think, the registration is cancelled. I don't know if they wrote them with that mob in mind, but it should mean we see the money pretty quickly.
  17. Aye, I don't consider McLair a product of our youth system - more in the Kipré type category where we gave him a leg-up when he was a bit older.
  18. That's true. He struggled a bit in his first few seasons at Leicester , but arguably became the most successful youngster to come through our system.
  19. Most footballers would struggle to find their local Nandos without a satnav, so I'd be surprised if Cadden was clued up on some attempted scam. An agent, maybe.
  20. I'm not saying it can't be done (although McGinn had nearly 200 first team appearances under his belt before he moved south), just that it's very rare - and in the case of Motherwell youngsters, unheard of. Scott isn't consistent enough to get a regular start in our team right now and as Robinson pointed out, needs to learn how to use his size better (and score more goals). No doubt he has the potential, but that's as much as you can say. It's changed days when guys like Joe Jordan, Steve Nicol, Alan Hansen, Steve Clarke, Andy Gray, Pat Nevin etc. would move from Morton, Ayr Utd, Partick Thistle, St Mirren, Dundee Utd or Clyde to make a quick impact at top English clubs. Ian St John was probably the last one from Fir Park to do that!
  21. My notice of the AGM just arrived today. See you all there!
  22. Reports say backup, but you never know with these things. The one sure thing is that they are ditching their current backup, Roberto.
  23. Darren Randolph moving back to West Ham for £4 million. In his original move from West Ham to Middlesbrough, he was sold for £5 million. Still slightly annoying that when he played for us nobody wanted to buy him.
  24. Aye, Lee Erwin was who sprung to mind when I read the Bristol City story. There aren't many 'Well players who have left us as youngsters and gone on to bigger and better things (Turnbull is the only one I can think of that might break that mould when he goes). I understand the attraction of a quick payday - especially when you are that age - but it needs to be balanced against career development. Personally, I don't think Scott is ready for a move yet, but given he's under contract until May 2022, at least the ball is firmly in our court when it comes to transfer fees.
  25. On a different note, no yellow card yet for Gorrin in the Oxford v Hartlepool FA Cup tie, while Fraser Kerr was booked just before half time.
