  1. Or maybe the club are aware of the reason give for the red card and it's nothing to do with what Kipre is saying.
  2. We extended him until the summer of 2019.
  3. I don't think Thomson has to clearly demonstrate anything. I think, a bit like VAR, the panel has to decide there is clear evidence his decision was wrong - which is a slightly higher bar. I reckon our chances of success are about 50/50. As for all the "what about Scott Brown?" chat - when our manager says he didn't think it was worthy of a card, it's unlikely the SFA cares about it.
  4. Problem with appeals is that you have to prove that the referee's decision was definitely incorrect. And often that requires the ref to review the incident and agree he got it wrong. If there is any room for an interpretation that favours the ref, the appeal will fail - and the panel will always be looking to back the ref if they can.
  5. They're accountable in as much as they can be dropped down to lower league games. The problem is that unless there are better refs to replace them, we end up with even worse. It's not like there are world class officials waiting in the wings, being blocked by the SFA.

    Ross MacLean

He didn't play in the Development Squad match last week either.
  7. It'll never happen, but would be good if the refs were allowed to explain their decisions after a game. We probably wouldn't agree with a lot of them, but at least it would clarify what they were thinking.
  8. Hartley must be glad we only have him on loan! Would be a real selection headache if Hartley was fit.
  9. But wrong. You don't need to make contact to commit a foul. You don't need to use force to get sent off for retaliation. If anybody knows about getting a card for retaliation it's Skippy, so I more likely to take his opinion on that.
  10. I'd have been happy to take that result before kick off. Delighted with it now.
  11. He doesn't even need to make contact for it to be a red. But don't let the rules get in the way. But I'm sure you know much more about it than a guy who still plays for a living with these refs in charge of his games.
  12. Skippy nailed it: That's experience talking. Kipre fell for it and paid the price. If the ref had seen Brown's shove it was worth a yellow, but you get taught retaliation's a red card when you are 5 years old.
  13. cricfree.sc also working fine for me here: http://cricfree.sc/sky-sports-main-event-live-stream
  14. Head says "No chance." Heart says "You're killing me with all this bacon."
  15. Not to mention Davie Hay. A very chatty and entertaining guy when he was our manager, and 6 months at Celtic turned him into a miserable, moaning git. A few years later, when he was on with Tam Cowan, he was laid back and entertaining again, talking about his time at Motherwell. The entire Old Firm environment is just toxic.
  16. I think it's more along the lines of Robinson buying into his own theory that the only way you can play at Accies is to put his 11 best hammer throwers and try to keep the ball off the deck whenever possible. Winning at Accies was far more important than taking points off Celtic, so I doubt that was the plan. It feels like he has let that Accies pitch and team get into his head a bit too much.
  17. For what it's worth, Turnbull and MacLean didn't play in the U20s today. Maybe indicates they are part of this weekend's first team plans.
  18. The one player we could least afford to lose. I'd say it's time for Ciftci to step up, as he has the potential for creativity - but, I'm assuming he's not allowed to play in this one.
  19. Tynecastle is like a ploughed field at the moment - would never choose to play on that surface. Not sure two teams from the west playing in the east makes much sense to the Edinburgh plod, either - and I imagine they get a say in matters.
  20. Hendrie seemed very much like a backup player when we signed him. So no big surprise that's how we're using him. Given that Robinson loves to play Kipre, Hartley/Aldred, Dunne at the back, a left back isn't his priority.
  21. John McKeever there who, after an admitedly excellent game against Dundee Utd in the League Cup, the Daily Record crowned as the next Gerd Müller. Brian McLaughlin was a great player to watch. When he was on, he was untouchable. Had a bit of a temper too and wasn't averse to odd shenanigan. Howard Sameroff showing his handling skills early on in that clip. In a era when the 2 subs typically wore 12 and 14, Cleland went with 13 - which I always thought suited him. Had some good times watching that Motherwell side. Great to see the boy with the macaroons and the kia-ora get involved too!
  22. Maybe. I just struggle with the notion that we started with Main, Ciftci and Tanner at Dens but decide on this starting 11 against a weakened Accies.
  23. Aye - He started our least creative 11. No idea what he was thinking. It was McGhee-esque overthinking, trying to out-Accies Accies instead of playing our normal formation and personnel.
