There's always nuance in a players' ability. SOD is never a central defender and is always going to struggle there. He is one of the best crossers of a ball in the current team, and takes a good long throw. His passing is better than average, and as vice captain, he brings some experience to the back line. Weighed against that is that he lacks a bit of pace, and can get caught of of position. He's also not the strongest in the air when defending crosses. Overall, I think he is net contributor, but no doubt he has his weaknesses.

Exactly this. We have seen plenty of examples over the years where we struggle to open up a 10-man or park-the-bus defence. I thought we played some pretty decent stuff once we changed formation in the 2nd half and created some decent chances. As much as anything, I was pleased that, at half time, Wimmer found a way to set them up to win and the players responded.
