  1. Not too bad going forward, but our makeshift defence looks exactly like a makeshift defence. Even had Ox spilling a shot. Sparrow, Maswanhise and Kaleta all looking dangerous on the front foot.
  2. That was better - with Kaleta and Maswanhise we need to mix it up with balls over the top.
  3. He definitely looked more confident today. He's been a regular starter recently which obviously makes a huge difference to form.
  4. That's what I was thinking when I saw it!
  5. Underrated by the commentator. He took the pen with his right foot and slotted home the rebound from 10 yards or so with his left foot.
  6. Maybe he needs to start playing better. Having said that, I wasn't expecting a goal machine after a few starts even without injuries or new babies, or round trips to Oz to get in the way. Wenger used to say it took 6 months to adapt to a new team in the same league. Longer if you came in from a different country.
  7. A Casey/Blaney combo sounds like a recipe for conceding a soft goal. Need the wingbacks to be on top of their game to cut out crosses.
  8. Some impressive CVs among the new appointments and a great mix of background and experience. Looking forward to see what new ideas they bring in the coming months.
  9. Max Johnston lining up against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this evening. Glad it's still going well for him.
  10. Excellent counterargument with some insightful expansion on your detailed thoughts and expertise. BTW, it was Gent that said SK made him a better player. In the same interview he talks about how it was a difficult time for him shortly after he joined us because his Dad died that October, but I'm sure you think that wouldn't have had any impact on his initial development with us.
  11. Alternative take - Gent wasn't first team ready when he arrived and Kettlewell coached him into that form over those 6 months.
  12. Mission accomplished - keep Clement in a job so we can catch them in the league. Take your pick...
  13. Just keep it tight at the back for the next fifteen minutes, lads... ...never mind
  14. That'll do for half time. A quick goal for us in the second half and I think that would seal it, as Rangers are losing a bit of confidence. A quick goal for them in the second half and they will be right back up for it.
  15. On the Paramount+ stream, Craig Levein was bemoaning the lack of quality passes and crosses in the final third about 5 seconds before we scored that.
  16. Nothing professional players love more than a delayed kick-off in big game.
  17. I was hoping Aberdeen would win, but I suppose watching them get gubbed is a consolation.
  18. Aye, a Rangers disarray has them 3 points and +7 goals better of than us in the league this season, so I'm under no illusions it will be easy to get a result. However, they aren't likely to hump us on current form, so I expect it to be close - and when it's close, you always have a chance.
  19. Having watched SK's presser, can the Well Society have a vote on banning "Punching above our weight"? There must be better ways to say we sometimes do well with the resources we have. (Aye, I know it's just me being a grumpy old man)
