  1. Lucky Samson didn't miss the spot kick or Christmas would have been cancelled.
  2. You mean a stream where Aberdeen haven't scored already?
  3. Aye it's good to watch and, apparently, the starting lineup at Aberdeen had an average age of 17.
  4. I know what you mean. On the other hand, even if it's just idle speculation, it's positive that we are finally being seen as a club with (under contract) players worth buying.
  5. I think the total we owed was around 1.6 million, but have payed some of it off from the Johnson sale. Would be sorry to see Ben leave so soon, but if Kennedy is back to fitness, he could slot in there while we count the fivers.
  6. I think you are agreeing with me then. The elite 8 notion is nonsense. The quality of coaching and the development of young players should be the focus, not some mini-group of teams selected by representatives with a strong self interest. And you know Rangers and Celtic are going to be the big two in the that small group despite the fact both of those clubs are typically where young players' careers go to die.
  7. He's blown a bit hot and cold. Since he signed for Middlesborough (for 1.3 million in Jan 2012), he's played 89 league games total for 4 clubs, and scored 24 goals. Done much better in the lower division than he did in the EPL.
  8. The point is that the elite status idea is nonsense and misses the point when it comes to fixing our game.
  9. I'd settle for the same half time score that the U20s have just racked up.
  10. So it will be Pearson to Hibs, then?
  11. U20s aren't much different from the senior players these days. Some are let go on a free, some move on for a fee and some have their contracts run down. We have taken advantage of this ourselves when we brought in players (Ben Hall springs to mind) and Craigan has said he might have to look for a couple of fresh faces in January. What has been encouraging is that over the past few weeks we have extended the contracts of a number of our promising prospects.
  12. We were forced to be a bit makeshift thanks to injuries with, as McGhee pointed out, right sided defenders playing on the left and Skippy playing deeper left. From a financial perspective it's vital we stay up this season and important we blood a few new players. I'd obviously like to see us pick up a few more points, but a point yesterday wasn't a bad result and I'm encouraged that the youngsters coming through don't look out of place.
  13. Eh? Of course we're better off. We have one point more than we did before we played. If we didn't get that point we'd be further behind the teams ahead of us.
  14. Not terrible given our recent form up there and, I'm guessing, still a few unfit players.
  15. Fortunately, we had the Subbuteo equivalent of the trainer's magic sponge. Airfix glue.
  16. Living room carpet. No floodlights or stadium. Every team with at least one player carrying the "knelt on" injury.
  17. I don't think their debt problems are related to fans' perceptions. Their budgetary shortfalls are public record, as are their ongoing legal issues.
  18. I never said they couldn't afford him, I said I wouldn't trust them to pay us everything owed over (as is normal in these transactions) a period of time. They are a huge credit risk right now. In the same way banks wouldn't give us credit after administration, we need to treat Rangers the same way. If they want to pay cash up front, that's fine.
  19. I don't think we took much serious stick when ours caught fire.
  20. No point in asking the locals to donate 10p for the meter.
  21. Jim Leighton used to do that too. It worked for him because he had good defenders in front of him that cleared crosses, right enough.
