  1. Every opponent must be thinking 'if any team needs a win they always get it against us'. That's how it works, right?

    Josh Law Vs Faddy

Even if he was fully fit we don't have the cash to pay him.
  3. Whether or not he is the cause (and I don't think he is), it's the GM's job to steady the ship and keep everyone on track. And aye, I know ships don't run on tracks.
  4. No, I don't think it is either - I'm sure a number of the other directors have assumed some of Leann's responsibilities. But I think we are inevitably missing her leadership during this rough patch.
  5. I was expecting this form last season - the fact that we finished 2nd after all the changes still amazes me. Sooner or later it was inevitable our fortunes would take a turn for the worse, and the injury situation at the start of this season seems to have been a catalyst for our woes. Difficult to tell if we really are less fit, because lack of confidence can take away from commitment and sharpness on the pitch. I seriously doubt if there has been a change in the methods used in the last couple of successful seasons. The one thing that has been obvious all along (even when we were playing better) is that our small squad is a high risk (but necessary) strategy. Injuries + off form players are hitting us hard. While we have had a few form dips under his tenure, this is the first time McCall has had to deal with such collective ineptitude. I'd be disappointed if he, or the club, thought that the solution would be for him to walk away - certainly not this early on. I also think we are missing Leann at the helm. With the best will in the world, I don't think if 'Flow has a chat with McCall about changing things around he could manage to instill the same fear or urgency that a chat with Ms. Dempster would create.
  6. Aye, I can imagine before every game he thinks to himself "I wonder what the worst result is I can get - that will certainly improve my chances to move on to a better job"
  7. We can all afford the transfer fees of free agents/Bosmans. Dundee Utd however are paying much more in wages than we can stump up.

    Josh Law Vs Faddy

The fact that Faddy doesn't still doesn't have a club shows that we didn't make a terrible decision in not re-signing him. Trying to compare Faddy and Law, however, is pointless. Be as well trying to compare Pettigrew and Erwin.
  9. At least we don't have a man advantage any more.
  10. The League Cup has not been kind to us for as long as I have been following the team. No idea why that should be, but we never seem to shine in that competition.
  11. I can almost feel that excitement from here.
  12. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we win this one given Accies form, home advantage and the fact they play on what must be the worst artificial surface in Europe. I'd certainly take last 2 seasons' final league positions over a League Cup semi-final or similar, but then again I probably still haven't got over the shellacking we took in our last CIS Cup Final.
  13. This was the Scotsman's take on it from the "Best and the Worst" of this week's SPFL (ignoring the fact it wasn't Kerr, it pretty much sums it up for me):
  14. I have no doubts about Erwin's ability and would be happy even to see him start with Sutton. I just don't like the idea of dropping a guy who has netted twice in our last two games. The bigger question for me right now is regarding Ojamaa i.e. is he injured?
  15. We're playing a form team that is 3rd in the league with double our points away from home on artificial turf. Anyone of those factors would merit our strongest starting 11.
  16. Wouldn't drop Sutton now he has started scoring again.
  17. He's not without his flaws, but has done an incredible job at Fir Park on ever-decreasing budgets. Like many who have flourished in similar environments, his next challenge will be to see if he can handle a bigger budget and the transfer market risks that entails. Not sure a backroom job is necessarily the best next step, especially as the Palace management team must be likely P45 candidates in the coming months. I fully expect us to be looking for a new gaffer, however, for the 2015/16 season.
  18. Last I heard there were at least 2 injuries to unnamed players - you'd have to think Ojamaa is one of them given his recent lack of game time. Funny thought that people complain about McCall's lack of a Plan B and about his weird formations. Much rather win the Accies game than this one.
  19. Whoever joins Cardiff will be on the dole before the end of the season.
  20. True, but it's rare that we dominated them the way did in that 3 - 1 game. Having said that, I'll be happy to be played off the park in this one and steal a 0 - 0. The key to situations like this is step it up in the 2nd half and hope the opponents run out of steam after their Euro exertions. (Still think we'll lose, though).
  21. Apart from sectarian bigotry, a sense of entitlement and a paranoid conspiracy about everything you mean?
  22. As good as Dundee Utd are, the proved last season that they are just as capable as the rest of us at shipping a boatload of goals from time to time (losing 4 to St Mirren springs to mind). I think we'll lose this one, but I don't think a hammering is on the cards either.
  23. Guys of similar stature to McCall who applied last time. In recent history there have been around 40 candidates applied for the Motherwell position each time it became vacant - and the doesn't include the people who didn't apply that the club has reached out to. Maybe Faddy has his coaching badges and is looking for a change of career
  24. If McCall does leave, there will plenty of quality candidates ready to take over. After the Malpas debacle, I'd be surprised to see an internal promotion.
