Would have settled for 4 points from last 2 games, but being greedy, would have preferred to draw against St. Johnstone and beat Accies.
-
I grew up and Hamilton and haves lot of Accies supporting mates. Apart from last season, we always finished in a higher league position (or higher league!) than them. The derby matches were always their way of getting bragging rights regardless of the final league stats. The slaggings would last for weeks afterwards, so always happy to beat them any way we can. In the grand scheme of things, however, we have never really been significant rivals, which is why I think our players and fans have more emotions invested in beating a team like Hearts.

An entertaining player to watch. Mostly because when he started running with the ball, he had no idea where he was going, so it was as exciting for him as it was or us!
-
I think 'Flow must have got him as hospitalitied as a newt before kick off.
-
Aye, watching the highlights and the pitch looked in great shape. Much better than the Celtic on we played on last week.
-
As long as it gives fans time to travel, I'm always in favour of leaving the pitch inspections like this as late as possible. Nothing more frustrating than an early call off followed by good conditions at kick-off time.
-
Also not bad advice for playing against Skippy.
-
Was disappointed he left, but delighted that Moult replaced him. Hoping Fletcher will be challenging Louis soon and we can sell both of them on for a profit. Then it's Mackin's chance.
-
Even if they improve, they won't be as good as the Celtic team we just beat. Plus, the way things go in this league we could easily have dropped points anyway - especially if we were playing on waterlogged pitch in the wind.
-
We weren't in the same boat. Our pitch had no grass, and we couldn't even roll the sand flat. We had far too many postponements and even when we played the pitch was an embarrassment. The north has been hit with horrendous rainfalls causing extensive flooding. We were postponing games if someone spilt thier Bovril on the grass. We have made great progress on the pitch and it looks great now, but we have no moral high ground in this argument.
-
Of course, if we had beaten Thistle, we'd have been in 6th spot, above them and Dundee (and might have stopped their run before it started).
-
If all we have to complain about is a chip that was hit a yard too hard, it was a good day at the office.
-
Was thinking the same. It's a free country and all that, but there's a fine line between showing some respect for the man and going full on Diana.

18,000 empty seats, though, means it is only 2/3 full. That would look like a lot of empty space.
-
Exactly. Like McGhee said in his post-match, we could play better than we did against Celtic and end up losing. Football's like that sometimes. The important thing is to maintain, or improve, that level of consistency and quality, and the results will come over the longer term. Expecting a tough game, and be happy to take any points from it.

I don't know if it was just a natural reaction or if the players are under instruction, but I noticed that apart from a well timed Scott McDonald run, nobody put a foot inside the penalty box when Moult took the spot kick.
-
Aye, but like he said in his post-match today - last time he felt like he nicked it, today he felt like we deserved it. Which makes it even sweeter.
-
Celtic TV commentator reckons "Motherwell deserved their win today." Great win - and good 3 points given the other results. Oh, and Fir Park playing surface is holding up better than Celtic's too.

I've got a decent stream on cricfree.tv http://cricfree.tv/watch/live/celtic-vs-motherwell-live-streaming

Maybe the trainer has a new treatment table that needs trying out.

Not a concrete offer, but While there are a few star names dotted around the various teams, the general standard isn't very high. In all the years I have lived here, I haven't been able sit through a full 90 minutes of an MLS game. It just doesn't quite cut it for some reason, and I can happily watch lower division and non-league games.
-
Seems a strange one given he'll be off to the MLS soon. Of course, if we are getting him for next to nothing, then may be a good move to have that experience around the youngsters.
-
McGhee seems to have a plan to turn Laing into a midfielder, so not sure he'll be going anywhere. I'd be holding on to Fletcher too. If Moult continues his form, our business plan should be to move him on at the end of the season and bring in someone like Fletcher.

Players and managers want it both ways. They insist on contracts and getting paid when they aren't performing, and want to be able to leave whenever they can when they throw a strop and hand in a transfer request. Maybe we should go the whole hog and not have contracts for player. Just do what most of us have to do and pay them a monthly salary and if they don't perform they get a month's notice and shown the door.

I don't think Bosman's original complaint was wrong - some clubs were abusing the system and refusing to let players leave after their contract expired unless they received an acceptable fee. It was the reaction to his grievance that screwed football. A more equitable solution e.g. fees settled by a tribunal, could have been a good half measure and kept money in the game for smaller clubs. It definitely had a negative effect on club and international squads for a number of years.
