  1. If we wait a couple of days, Paul Lambert's CV might be on it's way to Fir Park.
  2. The bookies just lay odds for bets they receive. If I put 50 quid on Danger Mouse he would appear on that list.
  3. I don't disagree about the Dutch system, but any manager that has tried anything as progressive as that has been rejected by the Scottish pros. John Collins springs to mind.
  4. No need for Adams while we have Ojamma on loan.
  5. If we ever sign a guy called O'Brian, that might be a good option.
  6. You must delete alotof posts on here too.
  7. Imagine what it would be like to see a Motherwell player transferred to an OF team for real, instead of a fat-managers charity kick around. Unthinkable.
  8. I also used to hate it when guys like Davie Cooper, Bobby Russell, Tommy Coyne and Owen Coyle lay down against the OF to help their mates' goal difference and league position.
  9. Butcher had the personality to get us through the early stages of our administration and recovery. We did end up bottom in 2003 though, and dead lucky not to be relegated. After that, we made it in to the top 6 a couple of times, but he seemed incapable of winning games after the split. That, plus his time at Hibs puts him in the "Thanks for earlier, but no thanks for now" camp.
  10. If you ignore the fact we were lucky not to be relegated when he was in charge, then Aye.
  11. The state we are in, we need someone who has a few years management experience under their belt. It would be great if we had the luxury of time to allow a new boss with new ideas take over, but whoever comes in needs to stop the rot first.
  12. Can you auto-correct "punching above our weight" to "playing to our strengths" ?
  13. Fair enough. But is looks like you are agreeing with me.
  14. We have bested them, because we played well as a team, had more consistent performances from players with similar talent to the other teams, and had a big slice of luck when it came to injuries and suspensions. The same team that got us to 2nd place last season is now struggling to avoid relegation. That is how slim the margins are and how closely the teams are matched.
  15. Jewell made a pigs ear of the job at Ipswich and I'd have the fear if he took over our squad.
  16. Very few Scottish managers in the game who won't have some connection to our sectarian cousins.
  17. Never rated him as a manager or a player. Would not want him near Fir Park.
  18. He might have got the manager wrong, but at least he had the correct spelling of "Humphrey". Seemed to cause as many problems as "Hutchinson" with half the posters on here. *sits back and waits for all the typos in this post to be pointed out*
  19. Butcher was the right man at the right time for us, mostly for the way he dealt with things off the park. The 2nd half of his tenure was pretty poor on the field. I'm also still amazed at what an easy ride he is given by fans concerning his departure, especially with all the hate doled out to McGhee and Brown for the way they handled their exits. Seems like most folks have forgotten the porkies told at the time.
  20. Unless Falkirk haven't met the dodgy stadium criteria, then it's fine for teams like us not to be relegated. Or if there is a league restructure after we finish in the relegation spot - then it's also fine Seriously, though, I completely agree. If we don't stick to the rules, then what we end up with is American style leagues.
  21. Totally agree. It's the "punching above our weight" mentality that has led a to few poor performances in Cups when we play the "big" teams. If we won the league, then maybe there would be an argument to use that phrase, buta part from that, there isn't much to choose between the non-OF teams except depth of squad.
