  1. Unless it's free agents we are chasing.
  2. Given that we are on the hook for at least part of loan players' salaries, we can only take them from clubs who pay around the same wages as we do.
  3. You won't get an answer until the 11th hour though (except for "I'll listen to all offers and then decided nearer the time").
  4. Twardzik seemed like an impulse signing to me. Our keepers were definitely going through a rough patch when we signed him on loan, but so was the whole team. We have been streaky the last couple of seasons, and Twardzik joined us at that start of one of those streaks. I posted at the time I thought he benefited from our upturn in form rather than being responsible for it, but that wasn't a popular opinion back then. From what I have seen of him, he's OK with a few bombscare moments. Was disappointed we didn't try the same approach as we did for Ruddy and Randolph as there is a wealth of good keepers out there needing games. Glad to see we have taken that approach now.
  5. I hope they tell Brighton to stuff it. We have been waiting for Erwin to get through his injuries and have a run in the first team. Would hate to seen him leave just after he starts to establish himself.
  6. Another Ojamaa or Anier to sell on would be nice.
  7. It's that thing Tom Boyd lifted in the air at Hampden, 18th May, 1991.
  8. By all accounts McCall is still on good terms with all at the club - players and board members. Not really surprising given the way we are in. Ex players and managers speak highly of the "family".

You don't just sign up as a ref and get an SPFL gig, though. The guy in charge of the last Rangers v Hearts game earned 195 quid. And there is a significant drop off below that. If it's that desirable, you could sign up yourself and make some extra cash. But like most of the rest of us you won't, because it's not something we want to do.
  10. Definitely had our best interests at heart, even if he nearly bankrupted us! For all that, we were lucky he mostly learned from his mistakes and, unlike some owners, didn't walk away and leave us in the lurch. No doubt he kept us alive during the past few years and made sure a new owner also had the club's interest at heart.

The wider issue is that nobody wants to be a ref, so we end up with a low standard.
  12. He normally takes his personal time off around 25 minutes into the first half.
  13. Opinion stated as fact is always more entertaining than discussion. It's what made the internet great.
  14. Sort of attitude we need to take into the rest of the season. Feared the worst when we went down to 10 men so early, so kudos for grabbing a point.
  15. That could leave a few punters rooked.
  16. Wish someone would bully me into GM of a football club.
  17. Personally, the best result for me would be a home win.
  18. Latest MFC tweet shows that they have cleared all the snow off the playing surface.
  19. A team with no cash to spend, fighting a relegation battle and looking for fresh faces in the January window, isn't going to be spoiled for choice. Never know with these things, though. Sometimes a change of scenery can bring out the best in a player. Skippy is one example of that.
  20. Well,it's more encouraging than playing worse.
  21. Not much happens in January in the way of acquiring good players. Even less so when you have no budget to spend or players to offload to make room.
