You are making my point for me now.
As CEO. Goodwin was legally responsible for the corporate governance of his bank (which is one of the requirements when he signs off on the financial statements). So he held a a position equivalent to Boyle's.
Nevin, while in an executive position, reported to Boyle which means that Boyle needed to provide appropriate corporate governance (including supervision of Nevin).
The responsibility for the administration debacle, like any other company, starts and stops at the top. Boyle hired Nevin, and Boyle should have been diligent with his oversight.
Thankfully, he learned from his mistakes, but JB was the man at fault.
It is meaningless. That is what I was pointing out. The past results - even last weeks, don't matter. It's like the NFL. The Giants sucked for large parts of the regular season, but put together 4 good games in the play-offs at the end to win the Superbowl.
4 points will likely do it for us - last week is meaningless now.
They had it when they lost to Aberdeen. We didn't have it and still beat Aberdeen. It's still meaningless.
Points are everything at this stage of the season, not momentum. It's still in our hands - you can't ask for better than that and I'd swap our current state for Utd's any day of the week.
Last 3 months is meaningless. Next 4 games is what counts. Last 4 games, Utd. beat Dunfermline, beat Hibs, lost to Aberdeen and beat St. Johnstone. 9 points from 12.
Our most recent set of results against the same 4 teams is 12 points from 12.
Like they did against Aberdeen?
Dundee Utd. will bottle it, like the last couple of times we have been fighting for a Euro place. It's much easier closing a gap than overhauling it.
If we finish 4th, some people on here will be screaming for McCall to be sacked.
If you had offered the same people 4th at the start of the season, they would have bitten your hand off.
I still think we will get 3rd though.
I think that is unfortunately true. And as far as I can tell, at least in the early days, the Well Society will only have a minority holding in the Board of Directors.
To be honest, I don't see the relevance of the Well Society to an SPL vote in the next month or two. While we can voice our opinion, we don't even have votes yet.
Only if the majority of Well Society members disagreed with them. Even on here, there are a number of people resigned to the fact that the SPL needs Rangers.
If you don't have it already, you could try downloading a browser with flash support such as this.
Then you can try a site like atdhenet.tv or http://www.firstrowsports.eu/ for a link to the game on the day.
Also, if you can bear it, and depending where you are, you might find a Celtic bar showing it live on here:
http://www.celticbars.com/barsu.html
When Dundee Utd. reached the UEFA Cup final, wee Tommy's team gave them a guard of honour at Fir Park. We then proceeded to beat them. If one for Celtic resulted in the some outcome, then bring it on
Otherwise, no thanks.
Randolph reminds me somewhat of Pat Jennings. Almost always seems to be in the right place, and needs to make fewer spectacular saves.
I also give Randolph the nod ahead of Ruddy because he had the commitment to sign for us rather than come up on loan. Might not make him a better player, but it makes him a top bloke.
