  1. If he does pick it up will that increase the value of his framed shirt I won from the year we sponsored him? Just asking like Seriously though, certainly a great professional and worthy of of lifting the trophy.
  2. Aye, McCall outdid him on that front; at least in his short term deals. Hoprefully, the longer term deals over the summer will be equally successful.
  3. Would have been better getting sponsored by these guys:
  4. And no player gives 110%, ever. Totally off topic, but just thought I'd share a pet peeve
  5. Aye - BBC report says it was one year.
  6. There's another thread with people looking for tickets. I'd recommend you get rid of yours there and watch the game on telly. That way you can switch it off as soon as you think we are going to lose. Like others have said, if you can't handle the disappointments and the heartache, you really shouldn't be following any sports team; far less a team like ours.
  7. Not as pessimistic as the last time around then.
  8. And if he pulls out an iPhone during the game, that will be two slaps he's due.
  9. Are you calling everyone who posted in the actual Cup Final thread, liars? Honestly, that's just no' very nice.
  10. Indeed. How often do we hear managers early season that players need competitive games under their belt. I really hope we don't take 30 mins to get up to speed or the game will be over. Celtic have been fighting every game since the split and be flying out the traps on Saturday. We need to be ready for that.
  11. TBH, I wouldn't be in favour of that. There comes a point when we need to move on, and for me, we are beyond that now.
  12. There *may* be a few thousand more names in the ballot than tickets, but I'd bet a significant portion are fans who now have a ticket and won't be accepting the offer. Even then, I'd question over subscription running into the thousands.
  13. I wouldn't believe half of the stories about mates of mates cousins getting tickets. There might not be a general sale, but I'd still be very surprised if there aren't enough tickets for the folks in the ballot who haven't already got one.
  14. I thought it was going to be sleek petrol blue number from River Island so that people could wear it to the game without being accused of sporting club colours.
  15. I think you're missing the point that a precedent had already been set a few weeks earlier with the McCoist/Lennon incident.
  16. Indeed. With no Accies, that will likely mean a St. Mirren or Killie New Year 'derby' - which never felt quite right to me.
  17. So if he wasn't going to miss the game why were you flapping you gums about how worried you were he'd miss the game?
  18. You could have given him your ticket anyway, like a good son.
  19. I hope we don't start implementing a "Motherwell Supporters Only" policy with our squad. I doubt Tom Boyd was thinking much about Celtic when he lifted his first senior trophy above his head in '91. Who cares what he did after that?
  20. It's no coincidence that I'm getting my internet upgraded on Wednesday so, hopfeully, I'll be able to take advantage of a high quality stream. So plan will be a couple of rolls and square sausage for breakfast. Not too exciting, but can't wait.
  21. So what are the figures quoted for the finances they are kindly donating to the First division? What is the source of all this extra revenue? If Falkirk QoS etc. need a hand, how about including them in an expanded SPL and distributing the income more evenly? How about reducing the likelihood teams are relegated so that the product on the field can be more expansive instead of 'park the bus'? The 10-team SPL is for the benefit of the OF by scheduling one more bigot extravaganza each season, and allowing them a couple of lucrative extra exhibition games. It has nothing to do with entertaining the punters coming through the gates and even less to do with improving the quality of the product.
  22. Barcelona average attendance: 76,176 Man Utd. average attendance: 75, 486 Celtic average attendance: 47,874 Motherwell average attendance: 5,319 I'm happy to argue that we should receive a 50/50 split for many reasons, but number of fans who attend (season tickets or not) probably isn't a good starting point.
  23. Same concern as me. A different sport I know, but in the American football over here, it's not unusual for teams to struggle the game after they have a bye-week - and we seem to be having 2 or 3. Celtic are having to fight to keep their title hopes alive and keeping a competitive edge until the last ball of the season is kicked. We are playing a dangerous game.
  24. A point yesterday (from a team we have had in our back pocket recently) and a home win against Killie would more than likely have seen us in 5th. Hardly an uphill struggle.
  25. Hopefully, you'll do the decent thing and sell (or donate) your ticket to a Motherwell fan who wants to go to the game.
